Sikar punched his forehead once as if his head was throbbing, then ordered Durion to go buy a chocolate cake. I clapped my hands to get the children’s attention focused on me.

“Hey, kids! You can have chocolate cake now! A super cool and brave knight right here is going to go buy it for you!”

Durion, who had suddenly become an incredibly cool and brave knight, stared at me with a bewildered expression. So, I reluctantly took slight advantage of Durion’s simple personality.

“Right? Brave Sir Durion.”

As soon as Durion received the children’s expectant gazes, he straightened his shoulders and chuckled with a broad grin.

“Y-yeah. Hey, kids. Brave me will go get the chocolate cake, so stop crying now.”

The children, hearing only that they’d get chocolate cake, immediately stopped sobbing.

“R-really…?”

“I’ll go buy it right now! Wait for me! And you can’t cry until I get back, okay?!”

Excited at the thought of eating chocolate cake, the children quickly dried their tears.

Soon, a generous amount of cake arrived from the bakery, and Durion kindly smiled as he distributed chocolate cake to the children.

I picked up a cake box and placed one in each of Vika’s and Sikar’s hands.

“What are you waiting for instead of helping to share it? Come on, quickly help Durion pass it out.”

Vika, receiving the cake box from me, looked at Sikar with an incredulous expression and said,

“Do I really have to do this too?”

“My wife’s orders are my orders. So do whatever she says without complaint. I’m doing it too.”

Vika was no different from Sikar when it came to children—she disliked not only kids but humans in general—so she pursed her lips toward Sikar.

“You must’ve done something seriously wrong in the future. That’s why you’re stuck living under her thumb like this.”

“If you understand, then stop talking and just do the work. If I fail, our pact means you’re finished too.”

“It wasn’t as if I needed your help in the first place.”

“Your grumbling is louder than the kids’ noise. Enough already—just go hand out the cake.”

Vika’s eyebrows scrunched together in deep frustration.

“It feels like charging straight into an asura battlefield.”

Dragging her feet as if they wouldn’t leave the ground, Vika reluctantly shuffled off holding the cake box.

The three of them looked utterly flustered as children stretched out their hands pleading for cake.

Watching the most notorious villains of this world being overwhelmed by children was both amusing and oddly heartwarming—almost as if I’d reformed them myself.

Kian seemed just as pleased, smiling gently at the three of them.

‘Well then, maybe I’ll rescue these three a little bit myself.’

I clapped my hands to draw the children’s attention.

“Hey, kids! To eat cake, you need to keep order. Line up properly in a single file. Everyone knows how to queue, right?”

“Yes!!!”

“So now, form one long line in front of the mister and missus over there. Understood?”

“Yes!!!”

The children confidently answered and quickly lined up in a neat row.

Durion, who had abruptly gone from a valiant knight to just “mister,” gave me a thumbs-up. Vika, suddenly dubbed “missus,” let out a tiny snort as if saying, ‘Not bad.’ Sikar exhaled deeply, as if finally able to breathe again.

“Let’s help hand it out too, Kian.”

Kian had been beaming with a delighted smile since earlier, clearly enjoying everything.

“Yes, Mother.”

After helping the three distribute cake, we all sat together around a table with the children and ate cake.

While the kids chattered and laughed, lost in the cake’s deliciousness, I quietly asked Sikar,

“How were the children’s memories? Were they abused by the orphanage director or anything?”

“He repeatedly pinched them physically. If you lift their clothes right now, you’d easily find bruises from pinching on their backs or sides. Worse, the children were severely malnourished. They’re supposed to get two meals a day here, but even those weren’t proper meals. Forget about cakes like this—they barely got even one decent slice of bread per day. Half a slice of bread and overly watered-down soup were all they had.”

“That’s unthinkable! How could anyone do that to little children!”

I clenched my trembling fists tightly.

“Don’t worry too much. The law here is strict—the director will be severely punished. He’ll likely receive an even harsher penalty for embezzling the noble families’ donations than for child abuse.”

That made sense. Though I’d prefer he be punished more for the abuse itself, knowing he’d still face serious consequences for the embezzlement was somewhat satisfying.

At least the children now seemed completely absorbed in the chocolate cake, washing away all the sorrow they’d suffered under the director.

“If you need more, just say so. Kids, today’s the day you can eat cake until your stomachs burst.”

“Waaaaah! Really?!”

“Yes! His Grace the Duke will pay for it all.”

Chapter 115 Chapter 114

The children turned to Sikar with hopeful eyes, and Sikar, looking utterly exhausted, glared at me before replying,

“I’ll rot every last tooth in your heads.”

The kids’ faces instantly froze in disappointment. So I clapped cheerfully and beamed at them.

“That just means he’ll buy you plenty of cake!”

Their spirits lifted immediately, and they cheered joyfully. With cream smeared around their mouths, their faces now seemed completely free of shadows as they indulged in sweetness.

If not for Kian, we never could’ve saved these children. I gave Kian a proud thumbs-up.

“Our son, you’re absolutely amazing.”

Kian also gave me a thumbs-up in return.

In the original story, Kian ended up becoming a great king after seizing the throne, but it was never clear just how great he truly became.

Now, however, I felt I could finally be certain of the kind of king Kian would grow into.

‘Also, I hope Sikar earned a few points with Kian through all this.’

“Mother is even more amazing.”

“No, Kian. Without His Grace the Duke’s help, we never could’ve saved these children. Shouldn’t we give our Duke a thumbs-up too?”

Kian paused as if pondering, then said with a rather indifferent expression,

“Fine.”

He then called out to Sikar.

“Hey… um… Your Grace?”

But Sikar, overwhelmed and distracted, didn’t respond right away, so Kian marched robotically over and tapped him on the shoulder.

Perhaps Kian was the only person in this world bold enough to tap Sikar’s shoulder like that without fear.

Sikar turned with a “What?” expression, and Kian, face stiff as a robot, showed him a thumbs-up before abruptly turning and walking back to me.

Of course, this incident alone wouldn’t make Kian fully open his heart to Sikar—but I hoped it at least eased his wariness toward him, even just a little.

Sikar looked utterly dumbfounded, yet somehow, their interaction felt oddly endearing to me.

We stayed with the children until they were so full they couldn’t possibly eat another bite.

Durion and Vika had cream smeared all over their mouths from the cake the kids had fed them. A few of the more mature children even wiped the cake off Durion’s and Vika’s lips.

“Feels like I’ve turned into a doll.”

Vika grumbled, but didn’t stop the children.

The kids seemed too intimidated to go near Sikar, so amid all the chaos, he alone sat comfortably sipping tea.

Since the rest fell under the capital city hall’s jurisdiction, our task ended once we caught the director and handed him over to the guards.

The director was immediately imprisoned, and the orphanage would be temporarily managed by the city hall. In the meantime, a clergyman from the cathedral would serve as interim director.

After confirming the clergyman’s arrival, we said our goodbyes to the children before leaving the orphanage.

When we bid farewell, the children’s eyes welled with tears. Sikar stood up immediately, clearly hating the sight of crying children.

“I’ve done my part, so I’ll take my leave now. We’ve wasted enough time here.”

“You still need to say goodbye properly before leaving.”

“I’ll wait in the carriage, so finish quickly and come.”

“What are you saying? You have to say goodbye with us too.”

“Me?”

Sikar stared at me as if questioning my sanity, but I nudged him toward the children.

“You can’t just leave crying kids behind. Besides, Kian would be terribly disappointed.”

Sikar’s flustered expression as he stood before the sobbing children was absolutely hilarious—especially since he was normally portrayed as a villain who never showed panic. That made it all the more entertaining.

Uncertain what to do, Sikar kept glancing at me for cues, then awkwardly half-raised his hand and gave a stiff wave toward the children.

However, his expression looked less like someone saying goodbye and more like a man about to sell the kids off somewhere.

“Smile a little for them. You’re scaring them and making them cry more.”

Sikar tried lifting one corner of his mouth to smile, but it didn’t come across as a smile at all—only as mockery.

After a few more attempts, seeing the children cry even harder, Sikar finally gave up and lowered the hand he’d been waving.

“That’s all for goodbyes.”

With those words, Sikar stormed out, and I didn’t press him further. I knew well just how much effort this small gesture had already cost him.

And honestly, even this much was significant progress.

The next day.

Aside from Sikar, all of us—including me—looked as if we’d aged ten years, with dark circles hanging down below our eyes. We’d been so mentally drained from the children that it felt as if our wits still hadn’t come back.

I’d planned to watch Kian play with Vika and the spirits today, but unexpectedly, someone came to visit the ducal residence—none other than Germy.

“Welcome, Lord Germy.”

“Have you been well, Duchess Blake? His Grace the Duke asked me to come by with a request.”

Even as he said this, Germy kept grinning cheekily at me. His smile was so innocent it made me want to grin back just as playfully.

“I see. It’s a pleasure seeing you again.”

“I heard there’s a magical chamber here. Do you happen to know where it is?”

“Oh, you mean the training room. Duke Blake is currently inside, so you can just go there. The servants outside will show you the way.”

“So it’s a training room. That explains why he asked me to create various simulations there.”

It was rather surprising to see Germy casting spells in Sikar’s home—especially considering that in the original story, he was destined to be killed by Sikar in the end.

“Well then, good luck.”

“Um, Duchess… if I may ask, where is your hometown?”

“Why do you ask?”

“You have such mysterious black eyes.”

“If His Grace finds out you asked me such a personal question, he’ll be extremely displeased. Please be careful.”

I invoked Sikar partly because I found the question awkward to answer, but truthfully, had Sikar been present, he’d have drawn his sword on Germy right then and there.

He was the type to say, ‘Say that one more time, and I’ll personally separate your head from your body.’

Germy understood my warning and gave a subtle, knowing smile.

“Understood. My apologies, Duchess.”

As I turned to leave, I suddenly remembered Germy had been short on money lately.

Then again, maybe I could get information about Raydocs from him?

Since I urgently needed Raydocs to grow closer to our heroines Lucy and Kian as soon as possible, this was now my top priority.

“Ah, Lord Germy.”

“Yes?”

“Could I purchase information about Marquis Yucanadar?”

“Hmm…”

Germy looked slightly troubled.

Regret With All Your Might (Completed Main Story)

27/12/2025
Side Story 5 Side Story 4

When yandere male lead believes she loves him — but she never did

“How dare you!”

“How dare you make me love you, only to cast me aside as nothing more than a friend?!?

“I will never accept that.”

“I will never let you return to him.”

“Even if I have to burn myself to ashes.”

“Even if I must shatter my purity, my dignity, my very soul.”

“I will never let you escape me!”

This was the first novel that introduced me to the matriarchal genre. I’ve read it three times already!

At first, the male lead despised the female lead. Later, he misunderstood that she liked him, so he condescendingly and reluctantly reciprocated her feelings.

Then, he suddenly discovered that she was kind to everyone in the same way, and there was already someone she cherished in her heart, and that person was not him.

The male lead couldn’t believe it, he became angry and crazy. He was determined to capture her body and heart by any means necessary.

Synopsis:

Want to see how a green tea bitch male lead falls in love with the female lead?

Want to see how he flirtatiously pursues the female lead?

Want to see how he gets slapped in the face repeatedly?

The male lead is a green tea bitch, a poisonous lotus, jealous, ruthless, unscrupulous, with a venomous heart, and he’s also a delusional maniac.

The female lead is righteous, positive energy-filled, kind, a holy mother.

Let’s see how two people with extreme personalities come together~

You’re bound to regret it if you skip this novel. Read the review & spoiler to find out what you might be missing!
