Raydocs sighed with a disbelieving, weary expression.

Even if my friend were a mage, he probably wouldn’t have seen anything like this.

It was a space uniquely possible only here, within this training room, existing nowhere else in the world.

Its origin and history ran so deep that explaining them would require recounting eons of time and an excessively lengthy tale.

“Did Your Grace prepare this?”

“Yes. Germy said he helped set it up.”

“Hah. Your Grace really has become both mother and father.”

I agreed wholeheartedly—who could have guessed that villain would create such a place for the children?

“That’s why I called the twins here today. I thought they could make many wonderful memories with Kian in this place. What do you think, my lord? Do you believe they’ll enjoy it?”

Though the answer was obvious, he asked out of courtesy, and Raydocs gave a thoroughly satisfied reply.

“They’ll be absolutely thrilled.”

“Then let’s call the children right away.”

Even over that short distance, the twins bounded toward us with unrestrained excitement. Their cheerful energy was entirely thanks to Raydocs, who had nurtured them with abundant affection.

By contrast, Kian seemed almost pitiful—so unnaturally composed for his age. At an age when wildness should have been expected, he appeared far too mature.

Upon entering the seemingly empty, long corridor, the twins simply stood there with blank, bewildered expressions, asking, “Where are we?” and “What’s this place?”

So I flung open the door to the training room, intending to leave their jaws dropped in awe.

Just as expected, their mouths fell wide open. Too stunned to speak, they merely blinked, eyes fixed on the room’s interior.

Kian was no different—he too stared inside with a look that plainly asked, “What on earth is this?”

Luid suddenly snapped out of his daze and tiptoed forward, repeatedly sticking one foot into the training room, pulling it back out, then sticking it in again.

“What are you doing?”

Luisy stared at him, genuinely curious about his strange behavior, and Luid replied with deep suspicion.

“It’s weird! I’m checking if there’s anything dangerous!”

Luisy gaped at him for a moment, then, just as he stepped forward again, she gave him a hard shove from behind.

Luid tumbled headfirst into the training room as if struck by lightning, crouching down instantly and clutching his head with both hands.

“Waaah! What are you doing?! Ah! Daddy!!! Daddy!! Help me!!”

Raydocs chuckled softly, stepped inside, and scooped Luid into his arms. Luid immediately wrapped his arms tightly around Raydocs’s neck.

“See, Luid? This isn’t a dangerous place. It’s just a play area made especially for you children.”

Reassured by Raydocs’s warm tone, Luid lifted his head and followed his father’s gaze toward the vast meadow stretching before them.

Dazzling, multicolored sunlight shone on Luid’s face, where tears still glistened at the corners of his eyes.

“Really, Daddy?”

“Of course. If this were dangerous, I wouldn’t have brought you here.”

Only then did Luid finally relax, beaming brightly as Raydocs set him down onto the grass.

“Run around as much as you like. It’s perfectly safe here.”

Luid dashed off, spotted a ladybug toddling across the lawn, and stared at it intently.

“It’s a ladybug!”

Raydocs then scooped up Luisy, who had been standing dazed by the door, and carried her inside. I took Kian’s hand and followed them in.

“This space was made by His Grace so you could all play together without fighting, Kian.”

Kian didn’t look as astonished as the twins, but he still walked in with evident curiosity, glancing around in wonder.

“I never imagined there could be a place like this inside the house.”

Later, when Kian grew older, he’d probably train here together with Sikar. By then, I might no longer be around.

The thought left me with a strangely bittersweet feeling—perhaps I’d grown unexpectedly attached to this place.

“Vika will be watching over you. If you need anything, just tell her. Now go ahead and have fun.”

Raydocs set Luisy down and stepped outside. The children were already racing across the meadow, completely absorbed and oblivious to our presence.

I asked Vika to take good care of them, and as always, she gave a sly, almost mocking smile, nodded slightly, and slipped inside, slamming the door shut.

Raydocs let out a long sigh, his expression tinged with quiet concern.

“I hope they play nicely in there without fighting.”

“With those twins, my lord must be utterly exhausted every single day.”

“Children always drain the very soul out of adults.”

“That’s certainly true.”

“But thanks to them, I actually get to take a break like this today.”

“How about we go enjoy a cup of tea, then?”

“Imagine being able to leisurely savor tea at this hour—I can’t even remember the last time I had a proper tea time.”

Raydocs and I sat by the warmly crackling fireplace, sipping tea.

My reason for this tea time with Raydocs was Kian—I was terribly curious about his progress and attitude in lessons.

Clearly, as a parent, he anticipated my questions and spoke even before I could ask.

“You must be wondering about His Highness’s learning ability?”

“Yes. Honestly, I’m very curious. Though I do believe he’s doing well.”

“I don’t know what you imagined, but he’s exceeding all expectations. His concentration is exceptional, and he learns everything quickly. He’s already mastered quite a bit of writing.”

“Oh, he’s already learning to write?”

Raydocs couldn’t suppress a proud, almost fatherly smile, as if boasting about his own child.

“Yes, of course. Not only does he pick up writing rapidly, but he also shows immense interest in history, society, and economics. While our twins are drooling and fast asleep beside him, His Highness’s eyes remain bright and alert throughout the lessons.”

The image of Luisy and Luid drooling in their sleep was unbearably adorable, and picturing Kian beside them—listening intently with those sharp, intelligent eyes—made my heart swell. For a mere seven-year-old, he was astonishingly impressive.

Protagonist, just how much more amazing do you intend to become?!

Raydocs took a sip of tea, exhaling a sigh brimming with paternal pride.

“His Highness truly seems born to be a sovereign.”

That man will become your future son-in-law.

At any rate, it seemed the relationship between Raydocs and Kian was now unfolding just as it should in the original story. Raydocs would raise and teach Kian exceptionally well, and once Kian ascended the throne and became the nation’s pillar, everything would fall perfectly into place.

By then, Sikar would probably be the royal father-in-law too.

What a splendid father-in-law and son-in-law they’d make.

Raydocs, who had been smiling brightly, suddenly grew somber as if something troubling had just occurred to him.

“However, there’s one thing that worries me.”

“Something worrying?”

“Sometimes… His Highness’s expression grows far too dark.”

It must be because of Valije. I recalled Kian’s recent nightmare, where guilt had tormented him so deeply. Just imagining how that young heart must have ached made my own chest tighten.

“I suspect that shadow won’t lift from Kian’s face until Lord Valije’s remains are found. But since Your Grace is already searching for them, please don’t lose heart—help Kian grow into the outstanding person he’s meant to be.”

“Of course. Though it pains me to see His Highness suffer, I’ll remain steadfast in educating and supporting him properly.”

“I can’t tell you how reassured I am to have your support, my lord.”

“Truthfully, under any circumstances, I never wished to become entangled with Your Grace.”

Of course—he’d been his sworn enemy.

“But then, on the day Germy visited the ducal mansion… he said something odd. He claimed I would become His Highness’s tutor.”

What? Could Germy see the future? Had he somehow obtained a crystal ball that revealed what’s to come?

“Is that truly so?”

“Yes. That day, Germy insisted it would benefit the kingdom’s future, which surprised me—he’s never made such a statement before.”

Why did I feel as though Germy knew something about the original plot? Perhaps in the original story, he had always foreseen the future to some degree—I just couldn’t recall the details clearly.

Two hours slipped away as we continued discussing Raydocs and Kian.

Then, Luisy—who I’d expected to return beaming happily—walked in with a dazed, hollow expression, while Luid followed with a dark shadow cast over his face, as if he’d witnessed something horrifying. Only Kian entered calmly, letting out a small sigh.

The moment she saw Raydocs, Luisy burst into tears and flung herself into his arms.

“Daaaaaddy!! Waaaaahh!!”

“What’s wrong, my little princess?”

As soon as Raydocs cuddled her comfortingly, Luisy began wailing as if the world were ending.

“Waaah! Huhuhuhuh! Waaaaah!!”

Her crying was so loud it practically pierced my ears.

‘Why is she suddenly sobbing so desperately?’

Raydocs was so busy soothing her that he had no chance to ask what happened. So I quietly turned to Kian, who stood relatively composed, and asked gently,

“Kian, do you know why Luisy is crying so bitterly?”

“Well… it’s like this…”

Apparently, the children had been playing marbles at first. But whenever Luid pulled a prank and a fight broke out between him and Luisy, a Death Knight wielding a hammer would suddenly appear.

That’s why Luisy and Luid were now sobbing in terror after seeing the Death Knight.

Now it made sense why Sikar had so readily agreed to build a playground—he’d programmed it so the Death Knight would appear whenever the kids fought.

That explained both Luisy’s heartbroken wailing and the smug satisfaction I’d seen on Sikar’s face.

It was as if he were declaring, “Touch my kids, and you die.” Seriously—what an overprotective father! Sending a Death Knight after such tiny children!

“Kian, what about you? Weren’t you frightened too?”

“Well… I wasn’t really scared.”

Then again, having grown up on snowy mountains where wolves were commonplace, perhaps he truly wasn’t fazed. And as the protagonist, he was probably designed not to be startled by ordinary things.

“I’m glad at least you stayed calm. That’s truly commendable.”

“Yes. I wasn’t scared, but since Luisy was so terrified, I covered her eyes.”

Kian scratched his nose slightly, looking a bit embarrassed, but to me, this young protagonist had never seemed more admirable.

‘How can you possibly be this amazing, Kian?! You really are the protagonist!’

No wonder the heroine was destined to fall for him.

Even at just seven years old, the protagonist already radiated an undeniable aura.

Regret With All Your Might (Completed Main Story)

27/12/2025
Side Story 5 Side Story 4

Male lead is a Divorced Husband

She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.

After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.

She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.

But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…

Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!

――

This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!

The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.

That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”

Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”

The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”

That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”

Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”

The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.

Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.

“She was originally a ‘she’!”

At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.

The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”

You’re bound to regret it if you skip this novel. Read the review & spoiler to find out what you might be missing!

Honestly? Good job Sikar. The twins (especially Luid) and brats and should stop fighting all the time. Their dad isn’t doing get there. And I’m not a fan of the “gentle parenting” when the kids are absolute terrors that need a more firm hand.
