[Full] The Villain Found Out This is a Novel (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 25
Then this isn’t the time for us to be idly playing with clay like this!
Before Gillian arrives tomorrow, we absolutely must hide the royal crest on Kian’s neck.
To do that, we need to convince Raydocs—but the child’s mother is supposed to die sometime tomorrow afternoon. If Gillian arrives before that, we’ll have no way to conceal Kian’s true identity.
Amidst all this, I urgently turned to Sikar, who was calmly reading the messenger bird’s letter with a blank expression.
“When exactly is Gillian coming tomorrow?”
“He says he’ll have dinner here tomorrow evening.”
Since dinner gave us at least a little breathing room, I sprang to my feet.
“Then we’d better go see Raydocs right away!”
Sikar also nodded and immediately stood up with me.
“As it happens, that’s exactly what I was about to do.”
Our sudden movement made everyone stare at us, startled.
“What’s the matter, Your Grace?”
“I need to step out briefly with my wife.”
“I’ll prepare the carriage right away.”
Durion immediately dashed off to ready the carriage. After telling Kian I’d be back soon and to stay and play with Vika, I headed toward Yucanadar.
“You’ve been visiting quite often lately, Your Grace.”
This time, Raydocs’s reaction was different from before. He didn’t welcome us, but neither did he regard us with his former wariness.
“Let me be blunt. Tomorrow, Gillian’s royal guard will come to Yucanadar searching for a blond child—and in the process, they’ll kill the boy’s mother.”
“Are you going to start talking about that prophecy again?”
I subtly stopped Sikar from answering and spoke myself, as if claiming the next words for myself.
“If you can’t trust our words, then tomorrow, look for a blue-eyed child living in the shabby slums. Around just after noon, the royal guard will raid the child’s home. As Marquis, you bear responsibility for the safety of your people here. Please, don’t dismiss what I’m telling you.”
Raydocs frowned, as if baffled by my words.
“You said ‘shabby slums’? There are no slums in Yucanadar.”
“No, there weren’t—until recently. Ever since the civil war against the deposed king, wandering refugees have increased. Some of them, having nowhere else to go, came to Yucanadar and settled in what’s now a ruined, rundown village—that’s become the slum.”
“If such a thing had happened, I would’ve already received a report.”
“You can probably guess yourself why the steward didn’t report it.”
Raydocs flinched slightly, lost in thought. Yucanadar’s steward had previously caused trouble for embezzlement, but Raydocs had let it slide because the man was his father-in-law.
From Raydocs’s expression, I could tell he was wavering, even slightly.
“More than anything, the reason we came here is to ask for your help. By tomorrow evening, the king will visit Duke Blake’s estate to verify Kian’s identity. We need your assistance.”
I made the strongest appeal I could, and Sikar silently watched over me.
Raydocs said nothing. It seemed this decision wasn’t an easy one for him.
By the next afternoon, still hearing nothing from Raydocs, I—well, I—grew anxious. Sikar, however, remained expressionless and languid, as if this were someone else’s problem entirely.
“Sikar, what should we do? We still haven’t heard from Raydocs.”
“If he has any sense, he’ll come.”
Sikar looked so calm that I began to feel strangely agitated, even foolish, for being so restless.
Sikar frowned, clearly more annoyed by Kian sleeping on his lap than by Raydocs’s silence.
“By the way, how much longer must I keep Kian on my lap?”
“Shh. He’s asleep. Let him rest until he wakes up. Oh! And—can’t we possibly change Kian’s nightmare?”
“I can’t intrude into the mind of sacred royalty, but since Kian mentally leans on you, we could try together.”
“Oh…”
“But Kian’s still a child, so I must be cautious about entering his dreams. If I’m not careful, he might end up completely dominated by my mind.”
“What would happen then?”
“He’d turn into a fool. And a fool couldn’t possibly lift my curse, could he?”
“But since he’s royalty, wouldn’t he be different from an ordinary eight-year-old?”
“I can’t say for sure. I’ve never entered a royal’s dreams before.”
It’d be wonderful if Kian could help me, just as Sikar once helped me.
Kian’s brow furrowed fiercely again, as if caught in another nightmare, so I smoothed it out gently.
“Bring me some water.”
Was he seriously ordering me to run an errand right now? When I glared at him, Sikar simply lowered his gaze toward his own hands, as if to say, “Look for yourself.”
“As you can see, I’ve got no free hands right now.”

Of all times, the servants were all on break. So I did as he wanted and brought him water, setting the cup before him.
“Does the water magically pour itself into my mouth if I just leave it there?”
Ah—so now I had to feed him the water too.
I briefly considered tipping the cup and “accidentally” splashing it on his face, but since not a single drop could fall on Kian, who was sleeping so peacefully on his lap, I carefully helped him drink.
“Why does this kid sleep so much? It seems he takes naps religiously.”
“It’s not that. Most children nap around this time, but Kian refused to sleep, so Vika summoned the spirit of sleep and forced him to rest.”
“He’s pathetically frail. At his age, I never had to deal with such nonsense.”
“That’s exactly why we must raise Kian to be happier. Today’s afternoon is perfect for a nap.”
“And incredibly dull, too.”
“Aren’t you anxious?”
“Should I be anxious…?”
“Gillian’s going to storm in here tonight, and we’ve still heard nothing from Raydocs.”
“Being anxious won’t change the situation.”
I’d approached this too emotionally—uttering foolish words to Sikar, who’d remain calm even if Gillian’s blade were at his throat.
Suddenly parched, I gulped down the rest of the water Sikar had left. Just then, I remembered his usual nagging about not drinking so hastily and glanced sideways at him—sure enough, he was watching me with narrowed eyes.
“I’m only drinking like this because it’s just the two of us here—cut me some slack.”
“Even if it’s just us two, sharing a drink like that is still indirect kissing. You really are a shameless one.”
Indirect ki… I’m too tired to even argue about it now.
Anyway, would Raydocs really not come at all? Unable to bear the tension any longer, I stood up—just as Durion rushed into the room, slightly out of breath from running.
“Your Grace! Marquis Raydocs has arrived.”
“Oh?”
“What should I do? Shall I kill him and bring you his head?”
Whenever Durion, usually so composed, suddenly spoke like a villain like this, it sent chills down my spine—he really sounded like a true antagonist.
“No, he’s a guest I invited myself. Bring him here.”
“Here… to the study?”
“Yes.”
Durion had driven the carriage for us when we traveled to and from the marquis’s estate, but since he didn’t know what we’d discussed, he still regarded Raydocs with hostility. He’d probably be shocked to learn Raydocs would soon be our ally.
Sure enough, Durion soon dragged Raydocs in by the arm, and Raydocs followed with an air of resigned acceptance.
If I hadn’t known their history well, I might’ve asked him to treat Raydocs more kindly—but knowing their mutual animosity, all I could do was wear an awkward expression.
Raydocs sat down with a weary smile.
“Your Ladyship was right—the king’s guard is indeed searching the slums for a blond boy. Now I’ll ask you: what is it you want from me?”
“What we want is your friendship—and the help of that mage, Germy Aiker.”
“And after that?”
“Are you so bold as to pry into my plans?”
“I must at least understand the picture you’re painting.”
“Oh, now that you mention it—there’s one more thing. You’ll personally give Kian lessons in royal succession.”
“You’re asking me to accept the royal heir as my liege? I cannot agree to that yet.”
“So you’d rather accept Gillian as your sovereign?”
“I simply mean I cannot accept His Highness the Crown Prince as my liege just yet.”
“That’s my choice to make.”
“I cannot allow that to happen.”
Time was of the essence, yet these two were locked in a standoff. I slammed my palms on the table and shot to my feet.
“Wait! Here’s what we’ll do. First, help Kian. Then, watch closely—see how Gillian governs the realm. Sikar will step back for now.”
Raydocs, listening to me, turned to Sikar.
“Is that truly your intention?”
“Yes.”
“Then let me ask one thing: after placing His Highness on the throne, will you truly remain in the background and observe?”
“I must see for myself whether the realm is well-governed. That’s precisely why I’m here.”
“Understood. I’ll summon Germy at once—he’s outside. As for the royal lessons you mentioned, I’ll need more time to consider.”
Sikar frowned at Raydocs, tilting his head in confusion.

“Germy’s been here? Then Durion surely would’ve reported it.”
Raydocs calmly pointed toward the window.
“He’s right over there.”
Looking outside, I saw a white bird flapping its wings.
“As you can see, I’m holding the child, so you go open it.”
He could’ve called a servant, but Sikar commanded Raydocs like one of his own subordinates. Yet Raydocs showed no sign of offense—just a familiar, blank expression as he replied.
“Understood.”
The moment Raydocs opened the window, the white bird fluttered in frantically and instantly transformed into a short-haired, adorably boyish-looking man. Cloaked in a hooded robe, he looked every bit the mage.
Without waiting for an invitation to sit, he dusted the snow from his hair and flopped onto the sofa, shivering violently.
“Phew… Your Grace! Ah—ah—hello… *achoo!* Did I say hello? Do you have any idea how cold it is outside?! *Achoo!* Raydocs suddenly summoned me to come quickly, so I didn’t even have time to take a carriage—I transformed and flew over… *achoo!* I nearly froze to death!”
Sikar frowned as if Germy’s chatter were too noisy, then waved his hand once.
“So what is it you want?”
“A hot cup of tea!”
Just as in the novels—he really was cheerful. I rose from my seat and addressed Germy.
“I’ll bring you a hot cup of tea.”
Germy gave a distracted “yes” without looking at me, then suddenly widened his eyes as if seeing something miraculous.
“Wha—wha—your hair and eye color?!”
Ah—black hair and black eyes must be a first for him.
“It’s a bit unusual, isn’t it? I’m from a foreign land.”
He seemed so flustered that his eyes darted wildly. Raydocs sighed and nudged Germy lightly.
“Germy—she’s the Duchess.”
Yes. That’s me.
I smiled gently at the flustered Germy, signaling it was fine and not to be alarmed.
“I—I’m so sorry, Your Grace! I’ve committed a grave rudeness.”
“It’s alright. Anyone would react that way if they didn’t know. I’ll go fetch that hot tea now.”
“Yes, Your Grace.”
Despite his apology, Germy couldn’t tear his eyes away from me. Was it just his naturally curious nature? Sikar, clearly displeased, pulled out a small jackknife and tossed it toward the sofa where Germy sat.
“How dare you stare so brazenly at my wife? Do it again, and next time that knife will fly straight for your throat.”
Only then did Germy snap to his senses and hastily bow his head.
“I—I’m terribly sorry, Your Grace! I just… it was so astonishing I didn’t even realize…”
Sikar, who never tolerated any challenge to his authority, had at least thrown the knife at the sofa instead of Germy’s limbs—surely because of Kian.
Germy knew it well: one misstep, and he might have lost the use of an arm or leg today.
Wait a moment—hadn’t he just said he had no free hands to drink water? Did that hand magically appear only when needed?

Is he just finding any excuse to hug her? I’m still trying to figure out if he’s starting to have feelings or not! Or if he’s just not right in the head and does these things out of obligation or sense of duty? Idk.

I still don’t get how her spending his money makes him impressed? 😂🤣
Honestly? Good job Sikar. The twins (especially Luid) and brats and should stop fighting all the time. Their dad isn’t doing get there. And I’m not a fan of the “gentle parenting” when the kids are absolute terrors that need a more firm hand.
I wonder if Sikar is starting to get slightly jealous of Kian and his interactions with Yura?
