[Full] The Villain Found Out This is a Novel (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 23
Kian, who had just been born and was seeing a playroom for the first time, expressed his amazement by keeping his mouth wide open for a long while. Then he hurried over to me and said,
“It’s so pretty, Mother!”
I sat down low to match Kian’s eye level and hugged the child.
“Kian, do you really like it?”
“Yes! I like it so, so much!”
“If you like it, Duke Sikar will be very pleased. Right, Sikar?”
I looked toward Sikar together with Kian, and Sikar, who had been watching us, quickly turned his gaze away the moment his eyes met Kian’s, as if he’d been stung.
“Well… maybe… perhaps… that’s so?”
Kian’s expression clearly showed he had no idea why Sikar would be happy, so I gently hinted at Sikar’s contribution.
“Duke Sikar made this playroom just for you.”
At that, Kian widened his eyes in disbelief as he stared at Sikar, then nodded curtly with a blank face.
“Thank you.”
Though he said thank you, his voice was utterly lifeless.
Truly, what a difficult father and son to get close to.
But even Kian’s indifference was unbearably cute. Filled with affection, I rubbed my face against Kian’s cheek to express my feelings.
“How about we try some origami now?”
At the mention of origami, Kian’s face lit up immediately.
“You mean the folding we talked about doing yesterday?!”
“Yes. Look over there—you see Vika and Durion doing it? We’ll play like that too.”
In the original story, Kian was said to love origami very much. The reason was simple.
Having grown up only in snowy mountains, Kian had loved making snowmen, animals, and toys out of snow to play with. Thus, he was fascinated by a game where everything could be created from just a single sheet of paper.
Seeing how delighted Kian was, Sikar pulled me aside and grumbled in a low voice.
“A royal grandson, at the age he should be cultivating and training his holy power, getting absorbed in something like this? If he weren’t the protagonist, he wouldn’t have survived.”
“Instead of that, why not open your heart a little to Kian while making origami with him?”
“If I brought him into my home, that already means I’ve opened my heart.”
“No, that was opening your mind. You brought him in because you judged it necessary, rationally.”
“You’re playing word games. It’s all the same.”
“Fine. Then I’ll speak plainly, without wordplay. Go fold origami with Kian.”
Even as I said this, my hands trembled with fear, but since my goal was breaking Sikar’s curse, fostering a good relationship between them was also crucial.
To achieve that, I had to risk giving Sikar such a bold command. Of course, I was very scared.
“Are you ordering me right now?”
I wanted to shout loudly, but under Sikar’s intense gaze, my voice shrank to a mosquito’s whisper, like a helpless weakling.
“Y-yes… I am.”
Sikar took my trembling hand and gave an enigmatic smile.
“Do you tremble so much just from seeing me?”
Of course I do. Imagine having a conversation with a madman who casually puts a knife to your throat. Would you tremble or not?
“It’s not because you’re scared of me, nor because you like me—it’s just amusing to see you shake like this.”
“…Fine. Whatever.”
Again, I’ll just go along with it. Me.
“Then shall we go fold origami with our Kian now?”
“Very well. Since you’re going to such lengths to break my curse, I suppose I ought to do at least that much.”
We returned inside, picked up sheets of colored paper, and watched what Kian was folding. He was making a flower—a rose.
“Kian, isn’t folding a rose difficult? You’re folding something so complex—it’s really impressive.”
Durion, as if he’d been waiting exactly for that comment, grumbled right away.
“Right? My lady? This really is hard, isn’t it?”
Now that I looked, Vika and Durion were also folding roses.
“Honestly, humans—I just don’t understand. Why fold paper into roses when you could just pick real ones?”
That was such a Vika-like remark, and Kian promptly popped a candy into Vika’s mouth again.
Giving candy into someone’s mouth seemed to double as silencing them—maybe I should pop one into Sikar’s mouth too.
While I was thinking this, Kian unexpectedly spoke.
Trending
“Because paper flowers never wilt. I want to give Mother a thousand unwilting roses made of paper.”
“Kian… you’re folding roses for me?”
“Yes, Mother. Of course.”
“Why… why roses?”
“It seems like Mother likes roses. Your room’s window is filled with them.”
Goodness! Those roses were planted by Sikar to brainwash me, yet to Kian’s eyes, it looked as if I genuinely loved them.
How is it that this child moves me every single day? My nose tingled, and I hugged Kian tightly.
“I’m so grateful you care about me this much, Kian.”
Compared to Kian, who with his tiny hands was making me unwilting paper roses as a gift, I realized I’d never given him a proper present of my own—all gifts had come through Sikar’s hands.
Kian surely needed not only Sikar’s love, but mine as well.
So, as a token of thanks, I decided to fold a thousand cranes together with Sikar—even though Sikar ended up folding them himself.
“Kian, didn’t you know? If you fold a thousand cranes and make a wish, your wish comes true.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“Then… what about a thousand roses?”
“Well…”
I didn’t know that myself and was struggling to think of something to say when Sikar suddenly cut in.
“A thousand roses make love come true.”
“Love?”
“Yes. That’s why your mother liked them so much.”
“Hmm… so what you’re saying, Sikar, is that the reason I was happy seeing those thousand roses… is because I hoped to fulfill love with you…?”
While I was saying this, Sikar kept nodding as if agreeing wholeheartedly, then suddenly pulled me behind his back.
“If you talk with your face that red, it’s obvious you like me.”
Sure enough, Vika and Durion were already whispering things like, “My lady’s face is as red as a persimmon!” and “Love can’t be hidden!”
Well, these villains likely had never seen a human blush before—they probably didn’t even know people’s faces turn red from embarrassment or anger.
“But, Lady Vika… have you really heard that saying before?”
“What saying? That a thousand roses make love come true? I couldn’t care less whether love exists or not.”
Ah, I picked the wrong person to ask. So I turned to Durion instead, and he scratched his chin thoughtfully.
“I don’t know about love, but I do know of a flower that kills if you brew it a thousand times. It’s extremely poisonous. Hard to obtain, but once you get it, you can brew it a thousand times over a thousand days… and it can easily blind and deafen a person…”
I quickly covered Kian’s ears and waved my hands to stop him.
“Lord Durion? That’s quite enough explanation.”
I’d definitely picked the wrong people to ask. What did I expect, seeking information in a villains’ den? I’ll have to remember this and ask Raydocs later.
Since we couldn’t finish folding as much as we’d planned in one day, our origami session continued into the next.
Sikar remained as expressionless as ever, Vika grumbled just as much as yesterday, and Durion was still scratching his head while fiddling awkwardly with colored paper.
“Why on earth do people make these things? So annoying.”
Seemingly fed up, Vika summoned a dark spirit to fold the paper for her. A formless black entity—sometimes smoky, sometimes watery—folding paper looked quite unusual.
Intrigued by the sight, Kian summoned his own tiny spirit, but since it was fire-aligned, it only burned the paper up.
“Foolish young master. Paper burns in fire—you can’t do that.”
“Vika, please only say kind things to Kian.”
The moment Vika shrugged as if agreeing, Kian popped a candy into her mouth. Maybe I should start doing that to Vika too.
Durion clearly lacked any talent for crafting—he took ages just to fold a single rose. But once finished, he’d stare proudly at his paper rose as if immensely satisfied, then set it down gently.
“I always thought swordsmanship was hard, but there really are many difficult things in this world! Even handling a tiny piece of paper is this tough. Wow!”
Seeing that, Durion, though a villain, somehow seemed rather pure-hearted.
Just when it seemed we were almost done, Sikar’s right hand, busy folding paper, suddenly turned icy cold. The sheet he held dropped to the floor with a soft thud.
This symptom of the curse placed upon Sikar always struck abruptly. Familiar with it by now, he merely frowned slightly.
“I suppose I’ll have to stop here for today.”
As Sikar rotated his stiff wrist a few times and started to rise from his seat,
Kian grabbed Sikar’s sleeve for the first time. We all stared at Kian in surprise, but Sikar only looked down at him impassively.
“Got something to say?”
Kian stared intently at Sikar, then nodded firmly.

“I think… I can melt it.”
Had Kian already gained the ability to thaw Sikar’s hand?
Sikar seemed doubtful but didn’t leave his seat.
“Oh? Then go ahead and melt it.”
Kian clasped his hands solemnly, took Sikar’s frozen right hand, closed his eyes, and focused.
Then, a fire spirit emerged from Kian’s hands, swirling around Sikar’s hand to melt away the icy chill. We all watched, utterly mesmerized by the mystical, wondrous sight.
“Whoa! What’s this? Is the young master really thawing the Duke’s hand right now? Wow! He’s amazing!”
Flattered by Durion’s praise, Kian’s cheeks turned slightly pink, while Vika elbowed Durion’s side as if to say, “It’s nothing worth getting excited over.”
I watched Kian with teary-eyed admiration, hands clasped together.
I’d only read phrases like “able to melt cold,” but seeing it happen right before my eyes was truly miraculous. Even Sikar seemed pleased, the corner of his mouth lifting faintly.
“Not bad.”

I still don’t get how her spending his money makes him impressed? 😂🤣
Honestly? Good job Sikar. The twins (especially Luid) and brats and should stop fighting all the time. Their dad isn’t doing get there. And I’m not a fan of the “gentle parenting” when the kids are absolute terrors that need a more firm hand.
I wonder if Sikar is starting to get slightly jealous of Kian and his interactions with Yura?
