If You Want A Cheeky Seductress (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 11
Faced with unexpectedly fierce resistance, Adrian leaned back and said,
“I’m not saying we throw her out right this instant. I mean we let her go once she’s regained her health and found a way to survive. We can’t possibly keep her here forever.”
“That’s exactly the point! Where does a princess have to go, and how can she possibly survive? If Lucas—that madman—finds out, he’ll hunt her down and kill her somehow. No, death would be the better outcome. He’d sell her back into slavery! Is there anyone here who doesn’t understand what fate awaits the princess? Are you really saying this because you don’t know what will happen to her?”
By now, the knights had pulled their chairs so far back they no longer touched the table. Amid the tension, Kirshan, who had silently remained at Floyd’s side, finally spoke.
“My lord.”
“What!”
“I’d rather my hair not get any shorter than it already is.”
At those words, Floyd whipped around and saw Kirshan’s hair ends curling and burning. Swearing under his breath, Floyd shot to his feet. His blazing eyes swept over the knights before he declared,
“You pathetic lot.”
No one dared stop Floyd as he stormed out after his outburst. Anyone who tried would surely be burned by those flames, barrier or no barrier.
The air in the office remained scorching hot.
Watching Arsen get up to open the window, Adrian muttered,
“I still had more to say about the drinking water issue. What do I do now?”
Hexton crossed his legs and scolded,
“You really should’ve held back a bit. Thanks to you, I’ve been lumped in with those pathetic fools too.”
“What’s pathetic about it? Did I think wrong? That woman will put our Torkan in danger.”
“She’s still a pitiful woman who’s lost her country and her family. As our lord said, if we just hand her a few coins and send her away, Lucas will hunt her down. Everyone knows that.”
“…….”
“So it’s only natural our lord got angry when you kept insisting on heartlessly throwing her out.”
Arsen frowned.
“Hexton, you keep criticizing us—but do you actually have a better idea?”
Hexton had no reply to that either. Though he pitied Roxiana, he understood the knights’ stance.
But Hexton had a wife and family of his own, so he could imagine the grief and despair of someone who’d lost their loved ones in an instant. Even if it put Torkan at slight risk, casting out that poor princess felt wrong to his conscience.
Yet he didn’t know how to make those without families understand this feeling, so he stayed silent. Seeing that, Adrian gave a dry chuckle and said,
“See? Even you’ve got nothing to say. We can’t risk the entire nation for one woman. No matter how pitiful she is, we have to consider the greater good. Besides, let’s be honest—did Khanta Kingdom and our Grand Duchy of Torkan even have any ties? We’ve never interacted once, so it’s ridiculous to endanger ourselves helping her.”
Arsen quietly nodded, while Cain was still locked in a staring contest with the wall. Adrian spoke coldly,
“Soon, the capital itself will be troubled by the drinking water shortage. In such a situation, we can’t afford to add another mouth that only craves luxury.”

Floyd was in no mood to focus on work, so he dismissed all his duties and headed straight for his bedroom.
If one were to name the bleakest place in the Grand Ducal Palace, it would undoubtedly be the bedroom of His Grace Grand Duke Laetean.
Ordinarily, a palace owner’s bedroom would be decorated with the finest, most luxurious items—but Floyd’s room held nothing but a steel bed and a single sofa.
Ever since the incident that earned him the title “cursed one,” Floyd had rarely slept on anything soft. His peculiar constitution caused his flames to run wild even in sleep, incinerating everything around him.
It was the same now.
Ever since his conversation with Roxiana, a hard lump had formed in his chest. As if trying to burn away that inexplicable mass, his mad flames writhed, spasmed, and raged uncontrollably.
“Damn it.”
Ignoring the sparks leaping wildly from his body, Floyd walked toward the window.
From his bedroom, he could overlook the Lily Palace.
The Lily Palace had been built within clear sight so guests staying there could be monitored—most came seeking alliance with Floyd, but some concealed daggers beneath friendly smiles.
Otherwise, Floyd would never have looked toward the Lily Palace.
Yet now he was glaring at its bedroom window, half-expecting it to fling open at any moment and Roxiana to leap out.
“Go ahead—jump if you dare.”
Roxiana had begged him not to bring Adelia flowers. If she died like this, Floyd planned to pile a heap of Adelia blooms atop her corpse—so her soul, no matter how desperately it struggled, could finally return to God’s embrace and find peace.
Remembering Roxiana bowing before him like a slave made his insides boil. She’d survived against all odds, yet her lips had whispered death with eyes nearly lifeless—and that displeased him greatly.
He didn’t fail to understand her desire to die.
“Yes, they must’ve been kind people. Good parents, good siblings—unlike me.”
Floyd had never known such a family himself, but he’d witnessed many times the despair of those who’d lost loving families—whether to sudden accidents or war. They’d plunged into deep hopelessness, longing to follow their dead loved ones.
But in the end, they all survived. They lived well, laughed again, and found new happiness.
All of that was only possible because they stayed alive.
“I’m alive too. I clawed my way up from that same despair and live like this now.”
Memories of his own horrific past surfaced once more.

His mother, engulfed in flames before his eyes, screaming in agony—but even then, she’d clutched Floyd to her chest to save him.
In that embrace, Floyd had both wanted to die and wanted to live. When faced with his mother’s unrecognizable, charred corpse, he’d wanted only to live—to survive at any cost and take revenge on those who’d done this to her.
That resolve alone had carried him this far.
So you must do the same, Roxiana. Your goal shouldn’t be death, even if it means playing the audacious seductress—it should be vengeance. You must live to strike down those who destroyed you and your family. That’s only right.
“My lord.”
Kirshan’s voice came from a short distance away—when he’d arrived, Floyd didn’t know.
“Calm down a little.”
“Did you come here just to nag me?”
“Why are you so furious?”
“Do I look calm to you? I went out of my way to rescue a pitiful princess, and now my subordinates are clamoring to kick her out while she’s screaming she wants to die—should I be raising a toast and singing a song instead?”
“My lord, we’re only worried about Torkan’s safety. If you command us to protect the princess of Khanta, we’ll obey without question. But it’s only natural for us to worry about the problems that will follow.”
Floyd gave a cold laugh.
“Don’t worry. Fortunately for you all, the princess wants to die anyway. Since she’s already desperate to die and there’s a whole crowd eager to drive her out, she’ll probably bite her tongue any day now. When that happens, you can all throw a party. I’ll even give the toast.”
Floyd mimed raising a glass as he spoke,
“Oh, my brave and loving knights—so terrified of the storm that a poor, pitiful woman might unleash.”
Floyd had a habit of turning sarcastic when his rage reached its peak. Kirshan, wary of flames erupting at any moment, took another cautious step back.
The clever Kirshan guessed Floyd’s anger stemmed less from his knights and more from Roxiana’s attitude.
“My lord, the princess of Khanta needs time.”
“Time.”
“She lost her family and was dragged around as a slave without even a moment to properly grieve. It’s only natural she’s not herself right now.”
“But does that mean she should wish for death? Death solves nothing.”
“When drowning in loss, one doesn’t think about solving anything. Not everyone is as strong as you, my lord. So please, give the princess time to collect herself.”

Several of the Grand Ducal Palace’s most skilled cooks were selected to work in the Lily Palace.
Normally, being assigned to the Lily Palace kitchen—reserved for esteemed guests—would be a great honor, but this time was different. Word had spread among the cooks that the person occupying the Lily Palace was a princess from a fallen kingdom, branded as a slave.
Though disgruntled at having to use precious ingredients to prepare fine dishes for a slave, the cooks couldn’t ignore the Grand Duke’s orders, so they prepared meals with utmost care and sent them over.
But when those dishes returned untouched for the fourth consecutive day, the cooks exploded in frustration.
“What on earth is missing that she won’t take even a single spoonful?”
They’d tried stir-frying, deep-frying, and grilling fresh vegetables and seafood. Suspecting she disliked fishy flavors, they’d cooked with only the finest meats. Thinking she might dislike chewing, they’d even made fresh milk soups and creams.
Yet Roxiana hadn’t touched any of it, and the painstakingly prepared meals ended up back in the staff’s hands.
For the cooks, their wounded pride mattered more than Roxiana’s refusal to eat.
“Just how extravagant were the meals she had as Khanta’s princess that she won’t touch our food?”
“Were Khanta’s cooks really that skilled?”
“No matter how much she dislikes our cooking, she’s in no position to be picky now. Why can’t she let go of past glory?”
As the senior cooks shouted in exasperation, Jackie, a junior cook, rolled his eyes and reached for one of the returned dishes. Thanks to Roxiana sending back her meals, Jackie had been enjoying rare delicacies to his heart’s content—and was simply grateful.
Seeing Jackie happily eating soft bread layered with cheese and ham, a senior cook smacked the back of his head.
“Ugh, you shameless glutton.”
Jackie grinned around his mouthful of bread.
“What’s wrong with that? It’s great—I get to eat these fancy dishes all I want. I’m glad the princess came to the Lily Palace.”
“Princess? She’s no princess anymore.”
“Once a princess, always a princess. Patria says she’s stunningly beautiful—with hair so light and airy she looks like a fairy. Ah, I wish I could see her myself.”
The cooks clicked their tongues at naive Jackie, then rolled up their sleeves.
“Fairy my foot! If she refuses this next batch too, we’re all quitting. I won’t keep cooking if this is the treatment I get.”
