I Didn't Want This Kind Of High Teen Possession (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 13
The sharp click of high heels echoing on the sacred cafeteria floor? Somehow, it gave me a bad feeling.
‘No way.’
I paused mid-bite into my pancake and subtly turned my head over my shoulder.
Just as I expected, every student in the cafeteria—including me—was staring at the same spot.
It felt as if someone had deliberately applied slow motion from a movie: the trio of girls entering the cafeteria appeared to move in exaggerated slowness.
And then came the boys’ lines, as predictable as ever.
“Damn, did you see that? Chloe just looked at me and smiled!”
“Don’t kid yourself. She winked at me, not you!”
A group of indistinct-looking boys, like background extras, huddled against the wall, buzzing among themselves.
My skin prickled briefly from the clichéd dialogue, but I quickly turned my gaze back to the trio of girls, feeling the fine hairs on my cheeks stand on end.
Hips swaying like supermodels. Designer shirts tailored perfectly to their frames. Straight spines honed by Pilates and jogging, and strides so steady that not even the highest heels could make them wobble.
Three tall girls approached, each carrying a tiny bag barely big enough for cosmetics, let alone textbooks.
They existed as if obeying the unwritten laws of a teen movie.
They were, without question, the queen bees.
I could say with absolute certainty that I’d never properly exchanged a word with any of the school’s queen bees since enrolling here.
Not that I held any particular feelings toward them—but in teen movies, queen bees had a habit of sizing up other students.
Sometimes they’d briefly be nice only to those they thought could benefit them.
They might seem materialistic… but in truth, they were often the most naive and honest characters of all.
Since I understood their clichéd nature perfectly, I saw no reason to approach them first or try to impress them.
We’d managed fine for a whole year without ever bumping into each other, after all.
But this was strange.
‘Why do they seem to be coming toward me?’
That couldn’t be right. Girls like them would never approach a nerd like me first.
Maybe I should just turn my head and pretend to cut my hotcake right now.
But before I could act on that thought, the three Barbie-doll-like queen bees stopped directly in front of my lone cafeteria table.
“You’re Huntington, right?”
The pretty Black girl on the right side of the trio asked.
Since they were famous, I knew her name: Regina. She was the right-hand woman of the queen bee group.
On the opposite side stood Jenna, the left-hand dragon, wearing a cropped top that dipped low in the front paired with a cardigan—of course, from a luxury brand.
She abruptly leaned toward me and greeted me with exaggerated enthusiasm.
“You’re Huntington, right? Timothy Huntington’s little sister!”
“Well… yes, but who are you?”
I knew their names, but since this was our first conversation, I was implying they should introduce themselves first.
But Chloe—the queen bee herself, flanked by her left-hand dragon and right-hand tiger—let out a mocking chuckle.
“Seriously? You don’t know us? Where have you been living, a cave?”
“Well… if I don’t know you, then I don’t. I’ve never spoken to you before, after all.”
Aside from your clichéd personalities and names, I genuinely didn’t know much about you.
I shrugged nonchalantly, hiding my true thoughts, which only made Chloe’s expression twist further.
Jenna soothed her.
“Oh, Chloe, don’t get mad. It’s understandable. Nerds might not know who we are—they only read comic books and solve math problems all day! And you know getting angry makes you gain weight. Just let it go.”
Though Jenna’s words sounded like a joke, they actually made sense—stress hormone cortisol does have some correlation with weight gain…
‘Ah, I just thought something way too nerdy.’
Thank goodness I didn’t say it out loud. It’d been over a year since I’d been reincarnated—was my mind syncing with my nerd persona now?
After Jenna’s reassurance, Chloe finally calmed down a bit, standing askew as she looked me over and lifted her chin with haughty arrogance.
“I’m Chloe. I’m in eleventh grade and captain of the cheerleading squad.”
“I’m Jenna—a social media influencer with 100k followers.”
“I’m Regina, a member of the student council. I’m in the same class as Adrian.”
The trio of queen bees struck confident poses as they introduced themselves. Honestly, they seemed almost considerate for giving such stylish self-introductions when asked.
Though I did feel a bit awkward at their exaggerated poses emphasizing their curves.
“Ah, so you’re all celebrities, then. Pretty impressive positions…”
Trending
Cheer captain, influencer, student council—quite a well-rounded spread of influence.
Anyway, since I’d always rather liked these straightforward, transparent queen bees who appeared in every teen movie, I nodded absently.
“But what do you want from me?”
“You went to Adrian and Thompson’s birthday party yesterday, right?”
Ah, so that rumor had already spread.
I was starting to understand why they’d come looking for me—but I decided to play dumb at all costs.
“Uh… yeah, I guess I just happened to end up there?”
“Don’t say ‘just happened.’ Give us more details, Huntington.”
The three of them had already slid into the seats across from me, eyes gleaming.
“Well… I just mentioned once that I’d never been to Thompson’s birthday party before, so Adrian kindly invited me along out of consideration.”
“That’s all?”
“Yep.”
I told them the plain truth—or rather, the version of the truth that sounded most favorable.
To emphasize that Adrian and I really had no relationship whatsoever, I tilted my head innocently.
“What else would there be?”
“Hmm… we heard a rumor that you’re Adrian’s girlfriend.”
Before I could blurt out, “What nonsense is that?”, all three queen bees broke into insincere laughter.
“Of course, I didn’t believe it for a second! We were just curious—whether you’re really Timothy Huntington’s sister, and whether you truly went to Thompson’s house last night like in the movie ‘Tomorrow’ with Adrian.”
“Oh, right. Well, yes. Are you satisfied now?”
“A little?”
They seemed pleased to hear that Adrian and I weren’t involved and gave casual shrugs.
“Great. Then, if you’re done with your business, could you please leave? My pancakes are getting cold and sticking to the plate—I’d like to eat while I still can…”
“Yeah, go ahead. I’ve got business with her too.”
Before I could finish my sentence, a thick hand clamped firmly onto my shoulder.
I flinched at the sudden weight, then caught a refreshing scent.
Oh.
‘That voice…’
When I turned my head with a creak, I saw Victor standing there with a tray in one hand, grinning at me.
Oh no.
“You’ve got something to talk to me about too, right? Clumsy girl… uh, Juno Huntington?”
Victor McQueen slowly lifted the corners of his mouth, his expression far less relaxed than last night—now tinged with slight irritation.
Annoyed, I turned my head forward again and thought to myself:
Damn it.
‘So this is the entrance of the fourth queen…’
I didn’t need to ask to guess the whole situation.
Ms. Jina, having heard from me that Victor McQueen was a Tier-A or higher Awakened, must have interrogated McQueen.
And McQueen—who’d been deliberately avoiding the gym summons for Awakened students—must have tracked down the person who’d exposed his high-tier status to get back at them…
And that person was me.
As I silently tried to avert my eyes, the queen bees sitting across from me looked up at Victor with utter disbelief.
“What the hell, McQueen? Why are you butting in?”
Out of all possible moments, Victor McQueen had to greet me right now.
Especially when the queen bees already thought I was Adrian’s girlfriend.
I glanced sideways at the trio.
But contrary to my expectations, all three were glaring at Victor with expressions of disbelief and annoyance.
“Big, can’t you see we’re having a private conversation among girls?”
The queen bees, who I’d expected to flash pretty smiles at the star quarterback, were now glaring at Victor with narrowed eyes.
Yet Victor held firmly onto my shoulder and smiled regardless.
I tried to shake off his arm to signal he shouldn’t act so familiar, but my feeble gestures—like dry twigs rustling in the wind—went completely unnoticed.
Amid inexplicable tension, Victor spoke with a smile.
“Sorry, but my matter’s more urgent. I need to have an important talk with Glasses here. Would you mind making way?”

At that, all three burst into irritated laughter.
“Don’t make us laugh. We were having a serious conversation. If anyone should leave, it’s you.”
“Yeah, exactly. Wait your turn, Big!”
“Can’t you see we’re talking to Juno?”
Suddenly, a sharp standoff erupted among the four of them—with me stuck in the middle.
Flustered, I clamped my lips shut. Chloe, arms crossed, haughtily fixed her eyes on Victor.
“Big, didn’t I tell you? Don’t show your face around us if you can help it. After tearing Regina’s heart to shreds like that, it’s disgusting to see you strutting around so casually. Do we really have to spell it out? We’re uncomfortable with you!”
“Even if I don’t have business with you?”
“Yes! You’re not allowed to appear in front of us—ever!”
Ah, I see.
True to the “playboy” label, Victor must have briefly dated Regina from the queen bee group.
And it seemed their breakup was fairly recent.
Both Victor and Regina’s faces were flushed red and purple, as if lasers might shoot from their eyes any second.
Victor glanced between Regina, Chloe, and me, hesitated a moment, then shrugged.
“Fine, then. I’ll deal with my business later. Is that good enough?”
“We’re touched. Really. To tears, Big.”
“No problem at all.”
Whether Chloe mocked him or not, Victor calmly gave a dismissive snort.
Just as I was about to sigh in relief, he tilted his head and whispered to me:
“It’d be no fun if you ran away, Glasses. I’ll see you later.”
