The figure who emerged from the darkness was all too familiar.
Duke Torpeo. Unlike his usual self, his eyes were chillingly cold.
In one swift motion, he approached and shoved away Heiro’s hand gripping her—so fast there was no time to react.
Adeline blinked in confusion, unable to make sense of the situation.
‘Weren’t you supposed to be asleep?’
She had clearly checked that he was sleeping before leaving.
“M-Mel… why are you here?”
Adeline’s trembling voice was thick with bewilderment.
Ignoring her question entirely, the Duke stood confrontationally against Heiro, his gaze brimming with wary tension.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
The Duke’s icy voice dispersed chillingly through the air.
Heiro’s initially flustered eyes darkened deeply, as if he had finally understood the situation.
“Del.”
Heiro addressed Adeline gently, speaking toward her behind the Duke’s back.
“The person you mentioned living with—is he the D…?”
An Indifferent Woman is the One Men Desire the Most
One-line summary: The female lead is actually cold-hearted and extremely rational. She has stage-by-stage relationships and won’t two-time, but there will always be someone who secretly likes her.

1. The female lead has had many relationships, but she treated each one seriously and broke up properly.
It’s just that the men unilaterally pestered her incessantly. For the female lead, when she doesn’t like someone anymore, she simply doesn’t like them.

So the Duke is playing/testing her… I wonder how she’ll handle this situation.
Is he testing her, or does he genuinely love her? He’s testing her.
I can already tell this is going to turn into some long, drawn out, misunderstanding drama where even if she tells him the truth he’s not going to believe her… I just hope she doesn’t get taken back to her house or to the crown prince because of his sense of betrayal!

Who said the Duke is the hero? He’s a filthy, despicable bastard. How could he do that to her and abandon her? Didn’t she mean anything to him? The people I hate most are the scoundrels who deceive girls and leave them. Poor Adeline, it’s a truly awful novel.
