The Only Healer, Ruela (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 13
“But wait, Ruela—no, is it true that I was going back and forth between two men?”
At Ruela’s question, Kite’s brow furrowed.
“Have you really lost all your memories?”
“I suppose so. I saw Guildmaster Balder’s face just now, yet he felt completely unfamiliar.”
Kite crossed his arms over his chest, wearing a serious expression. Though he still seemed unable to fully let go of his suspicions, he tossed out a piece of information as if to verify something.
“…You know you were dating the guildmaster under Balder’s command and stirred up internal conflict to swallow up that guild, right?”
‘Ruela, what on earth did you do?’
The moment she heard this, she instinctively sensed that life in this body would be incredibly difficult, yet she feigned composure outwardly.
“I don’t remember any of that.”
“You may have lost your memory, but it’s still your own affair. Because of that incident, your engagement to Balder was broken off, and you even received a formal declaration of hostility. Yet you speak of it as if it happened to someone else—don’t you think that’s shamelessly disrespectful?”
She was troubled by the guildmaster’s words.
She would now have to work alongside these people as comrades, yet the thought of living branded as shameless made her uneasy.
While she was debating whether to honestly confess that she wasn’t the real Ruela or not, the guildmaster muttered,
“Well, considering Balder tried to take his own life the moment he found out, maybe you weren’t quite that brazen after all.”
“What did you say? Tried to die? Me?”
Kite deliberately frowned as if troubled.
“You didn’t even know that?”
“Tell me straight—how did you find out I tried to kill myself? Are you one of Guildmaster Balder’s spies?”
“What misunderstanding is this? I only said I’m the one and only person capable of standing against him.”
“At the party, I heard you say you’re not from the Kuran Kingdom. Then how on earth do you know so much about me? Even my maid never mentioned anything like that.”
“She didn’t?”
“No.”
“So no one told you that Ruela Romnin attempted suicide?”
“That’s exactly what I’m saying.”
Kite tilted his head in confusion, then shouted toward the inside.
“Raphael, Raphael! What’s today’s date?”
It was absurd—he’d interrupted such an important conversation just to ask the date out of nowhere.
“What do you mean? Weren’t you the one who lost your memory? Three days ago, back in Kamun Village, I told you we were at the cusp of June 1st turning into June 2nd. So today must be June 4th.”
Kite was startled by Ruela’s remark.
“Right, that’s true. I heard it but didn’t feel anything odd about it at all. Or maybe I just glossed over it carelessly.”
“What’s the problem then?”
“The problem? Ruela Romnin died on June 2nd. But you and I met on the night of June 1st.”
“Wait—died?”
Attempting suicide and actually dying were entirely different matters. When Ruela asked in a voice nearly screaming from shock, Kite suddenly changed his stance.
“When did I ever say that?”
He played innocent, but his pupils trembled—clearly lying.
“What did you do to me? Tell me honestly.”
“I don’t understand why you’d assume I’ve done something to you.”
“You’re neither family nor an acquaintance, yet you know I tried to die—no, that I died. And you came looking for me the moment I was thrown out of my home, as if you’d been waiting. Be honest.”
“Then let me ask you this—if you’ve truly lost your memory, how did you get here without a map? And what did you do with all the canned goods you opened along the way?”
Ruela stared at him in astonishment at his question. Despite having just dropped such a bombshell, Kite remained perfectly calm.
“You followed me, didn’t you?”
Seeming to realize he wasn’t entirely blameless himself, he hesitated briefly before offering an excuse.
“I was just guarding you so nothing bad would happen. Thanks to that, you arrived safely without encountering any wild animals.”
Could this really be brushed off as merely looking out for her safety?
Her suspicion that this man was dangerous was quickly turning into certainty.
“Why do I keep feeling like I’m dancing in your palm?”
“And why do I feel like you’re hiding something?”
This mutual suspicion struck Ruela as utterly ridiculous.
Ruela stood facing him silently for a while, as if locked in a staring contest. Kite, too, showed no sign of yielding even an inch.

Yet continuing down this dead end would only waste time. In the end, Ruela proposed a compromise first.
“Let’s talk without hiding anything—from both of us.”
“Fine. Then shall Lady Romnin go first?”
“You go first, Guildmaster.”
“At this rate, we’ll just keep repeating the same words endlessly.”
Just then—
Gurgle.
Out of place as it was, hunger and thirst she’d forgotten came rushing back. Kite noticed her stomach rumbling and gave a faint smile.
‘Have some tact, stomach…’
She suddenly felt absurdly embarrassed—and furious.
But since things had come to this, and she’d already decided to come clean, she figured there was no point wasting energy on trivial matters.
“Alright. I’ll speak first. But I’m hungry, so let’s talk while eating.”
“At this hour?”
Kite teased, then shouted inward once more.
“Raphael, Raphael!”
“You called?”
A slender man emerged as the door opened. He had shoulder-length light brown hair and navy-blue eyes—so strikingly handsome it seemed the guild recruited members based on looks alone.
“I’ve been calling you since earlier! What were you doing that you didn’t hear me?”
“I was filling out the guild registration form. Why’d you call?”
“What about what I asked you to prepare?”
“It’s in the final stages. It’ll be done soon.”
“Bring it to my office when it’s finished. And bring tea too.”
“I’m swamped. Fine, I’ll bring it to your office when it’s… Wait, who’s this beautiful lady?”
What an infuriating man—standing there since earlier, yet only acknowledging her now with such audacity.
“I’m Ruela Romnin.”
When Ruela greeted him with a reserved expression, the man’s face hardened.
“That’s odd. You feel different from before.”
“Have we met before?”
Raphael observed Ruela’s surprised questioning carefully before answering.
“It’s hard to say we’ve met, but I did see you at Balder’s mansion party. I arrived in Kuran first to handle various preparations, so I saw you then—but your aura and presence now feel very different… Well, never mind.”
Raphael, having vaguely brushed off his words, glanced at Kite.
“Did something go wrong when we brought her back?”
First Kite had said something strange earlier, and now Raphael. Flustered by his blunt remark—made without even trying to hide it—Kite sharply called out.
“Raphael!”
But by now, Ruela had a strong feeling this matter shouldn’t be brushed aside, so she quickly pressed him.
“Brought me back? What do you mean by that?”
“It’s nothing.”
“Nothing? Do you think I’m a fool? Tell me the truth.”
Kite glared at Raphael with an expression of discomfort, then spoke.
“Go bring some tea and food. And for heaven’s sake, watch your mouth.”
Raphael, instantly receiving a glare, gave an apologetic smile and slowly backed away. Kite let out a small sigh, then turned to Ruela. His previously somewhat domineering attitude and tone had softened slightly.
“Let’s not stay here—how about moving to my office? You’ve walked nonstop for three days and came straight here without rest—you must be exhausted.”
Now that he mentioned it, she realized it was true. The fatigue she’d forgotten in the heat of their argument came rushing back.
“You’re right—I’m tired.”
“Let’s change seats. Raphael will bring something delicious, so we can talk while eating.”
With that, Kite extended his hand, signaling he’d escort her. Though uneasy, Ruela had little choice but to take his hand.
He soon clasped her small hand firmly in his own and began walking slowly—apparently toward his office.
“Incredible.”
Unlike the bright, cheerful hall, the office exuded a gloomy, heavy atmosphere so oppressive it felt suffocating.
Having led her this far, Kite gently released her hand and asked for her preference.

“Shall we sit at the conference table? Or the sofa?”
A large table capable of seating about ten stood before a desk facing away from the window, while the sofa sat before the fireplace.
“The sofa.”
Though the fireplace was unlit in June, that spot looked cozy and comfortable. Besides, in her exhausted state, she had no desire to sit stiffly on a hard chair.
“Alright, then.”
Kite followed Ruela’s wish, personally guiding her to the sofa before sitting opposite her. Ruela waited until he’d settled before pressing on.
“Then let’s return to our earlier topic. What did he mean just now by ‘brought back’?”
Kite remained silent for a moment, then sighed and spoke.
“Ruela Romnin was the continent’s only healer. Or rather, she was about to awaken as one.”
Though not a direct answer to her question, this statement was too significant to ignore. Recalling the original game, Ruela couldn’t help but tilt her head in confusion.
“…Only one healer exists? Why is the class ratio so messed up?”
“Class ratio? I don’t know what you’re talking about. Anyway, even capable individuals are rare, and among them, healers appear only once per generation—or sometimes not even for several generations.”
“So healers are extremely rare—and I’m that healer?”
Now that she thought about it, this wasn’t bad at all. In fact, it was wonderful.
She’d spent several days without memories, then learned she’d entered someone else’s body. Before she could even properly recover from the shock, she’d been driven out of her home and ended up here.
Outwardly, she’d pretended to be tough and unaffected, but anxiety was inevitable. Without the game interface that had helped her, she would have spiraled into full-blown panic.
Yet to discover she was such a precious individual—well, that was some consolation at least.

Miioo Chapter 16Why do they want to kill Ruella? That’s not a good enough reason to kill her. I hope Kate helps her.
