I Didn't Want This Kind Of High Teen Possession (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 8
“But I never said anything like that?”
“If you’re not her boyfriend, why would you ask her to go to the party together? Makes sense, right?”
What kind of logic is this?
I was about to scoff right then and there.
But I noticed the atmosphere around the full party venue had changed slightly. The girls nearby had started staring at me intently.
One of them stepped forward and spoke.
“Hey, take off your glasses.”
“…What? Why?”
When I looked back at her with a wary expression, she seemed provoked and marched right up to me, reaching toward my face.
“Let me see what you really look like. Just take off those ridiculous glasses, will you?”
I frowned in slight bewilderment.
They wanted me to remove my glasses just to see my face? Ridiculous.
‘After throwing me into a high-school-hunter-genre mashup, are they now trying to shove me into a serious school-bullying drama?’
The mere thought sent chills down my spine. I’d rather dive into a dungeon alone.
Just as I was about to step backward with an uneasy feeling, Thompson tightly grabbed my arm.
“You planning to let go of this?”
My momentary confusion vanished. I glanced between the girl approaching me and Thompson, then swiftly kicked out with my right foot.
Thud!
“Ugh!”
Thompson collapsed, struck in the knee by my sneaker.
And at the same instant,
“What—what the hell? Where’d you go?”
The brown-haired girl who’d gotten right up to my nose screamed.
A blue status window appeared before my eyes.
[Skill activated.] [Skill: Extra’s Basics (A).] [Upon attacking or being hit, erases your presence for 60 seconds. Lower-tier hunters cannot sense your presence.] [Activation chance: 50%]I calmly steadied my breathing and walked right past the girl, whose face had gone ashen as if she’d seen a ghost.
They wouldn’t know I could vanish like a ghost right after an attack.
Thompson, still clutching his knee on the ground, stared blankly into the empty air with a dazed expression.
Then, as if suddenly realizing something, he shouted in frustration,
“Damn it! She’s an Awakened! Catch her!”
Furious, Thompson raised his voice.
Ignoring him completely, I picked up an empty can or something similar from the table. The items I held naturally turned invisible along with me.
Thompson frantically dashed about, desperate to grab me—but it was useless.
How could he catch me if I was invisible?
‘23 seconds, 22 seconds.’
Right as the timer neared its end, I hurled the can I’d been holding straight at Thompson’s face.
It was the exact same pattern I’d used when punishing the football player who’d harassed Adrian.
To keep my 50% chance skill from breaking, I kept triggering it repeatedly by tossing whatever I held at Thompson.
Each activation reset my skill duration back to 60 seconds—an exploit made possible because it had no cooldown.
“Damn it, this crazy girl!”
Empty cans, banana peels left half-eaten, and even someone’s discarded sock flew straight into Thompson’s screaming mouth.
Thompson was on the verge of snapping.
So amused was I by his frantic rage that I failed to notice someone quietly sneaking up beside me.
“Gotcha!”
It was one of the guys from the pool.
He must’ve tracked the trajectory of the items I was throwing.
The boy leaped through the air—directly toward where I stood.
Trending
“Ah!”
I let out a sharp cry. Only 24 seconds remained on my timer, and I was forced right to the slippery edge of the pool.
Huh?
My boot sole slipped on a puddle.
And with a splash, I tumbled into the pool.
‘This wasn’t in my calculations.’
Glug. My body sank beneath the water.
17 seconds remaining.
Through the water’s surface, I could see people floundering around me—proof my invisibility was still active.
12 seconds remaining.
My body sank heavily. My previously bruised forearm throbbed painfully. Damn it—what kind of strength did that guy use to slam into midair like that?
8 seconds remaining.
Then it hit me.
Unlike in my past life, Juno Huntington’s body was a hopeless drunk who couldn’t even manage survival swimming.
Damn it!
3 seconds remaining.
Panicked, I exhaled all the air I’d held in my lungs, releasing it as bubbles. Through the water, I saw my hand gradually becoming visible again.
Just then, someone plunged into the pool from above and grabbed my hand.
With a firm grip, he wrapped an arm around my waist and smoothly hauled me out of the water.
“Pff, cough!”
I gasped for air, spitting out water.
“Cough, cough!”
Through my blurry vision, I caught a glimpse of the man’s face holding me.
Tan skin and gray hair….
I momentarily held my breath, then quickly plucked away the strands of hair stuck to my face. Finally, I could see the man who’d pulled me out clearly.
“You’re….”
He had beautifully sun-kissed skin.
Short hair dyed gray, a sharp nose, clear and bold eyes—and lastly, the corners of his lips curled upward in a gentle, captivating smile.
He wore only a thin T-shirt, now soaked through from the pool, clinging tightly to his frame.
With an amused look, he glanced at me once, then carried me through the pool toward the edge.
He set me down gently at the far end of the pool.
Carrying a girl couldn’t have been easy, yet his expression looked as relaxed as if he’d just moved a doll.
With a playful lilt in his voice, he said,
“I wondered what all the commotion was about.”
Despite his mischievous, grinning face, his voice resonated deep and steady.
“So you’re an Awakened too?”
“‘Too’? What do you mean?”
I asked, startled.
He ignored my question entirely, scanning the area distractedly.
Then he retrieved something from the water and held it close to his face.
It was my glasses.
“No prescription at all? Wow, are you going for the nerd look on purpose?”
“Give that back.”
He playfully perched my thick-rimmed glasses on his nose.
Fed up, I snatched them back quickly—though, judging by his slow reaction, it was more like he’d let me take them.
“Rude, after I just helped you.”
“…”
I adjusted my glasses and shot him a glare.
‘Wait—his face looks really familiar.’
He seemed like a student from this school.

And in my one year of adapting here, there were only two kinds of guys whose faces I’d never had reason to see:
Either the male lead I wanted nothing to do with in that drama,
Or the rowdy school athletes.
Or possibly both.
Before I could dive deeper into thought, I pulled up his character info window right in front of him.
A blue window appeared before my eyes, but the man merely blinked his dark eyes, noticing nothing.
[Character Info.]Name: Victor McQueen.
Rank: S.
Skill: Superhuman Strength.
Exclusive Skill: Hold Firm (Locked), –.
Trait: Ace of the Field.
Opening further details revealed S-rank scores across agility, strength, and flexibility.
Flawless, in other words.
For a moment, I nearly cheered as if I’d just struck gold.
‘There’s another S-rank Awakened at our school besides Adrian!’
For some unknown reason, this guy—despite being an S-rank Awakened—hadn’t shown up at the Awakened gathering held in the gym.
He was a hidden gem.
But my joy was short-lived; I froze in place.
‘Wait… Victor McQueen?’
Unconsciously, my brows furrowed.
‘Could he be the “Vic” the football team mentioned earlier…?’
Victor McQueen was one of the male leads entangled with the female protagonist in Season 2.
He was also famously known as the womanizing captain of the football team at Rowingham High.
[This is the timeline separator]I’d heard plenty of rumors about Victor McQueen.
After all, wasn’t high-school law always rooted in the football team?
Victor McQueen was one of those protagonists who perfectly embodied every teen cliché.
An outstanding student-athlete, adored by girls without exception.
His sun-kissed skin, cheerful personality, and bold actions made him popular with everyone, regardless of gender.
And the other default fact about Victor? He was famously a “womanizer” who cycled through girlfriends constantly.
‘Well, it’s all just setup for him to go all-in on the heroine later anyway.’
The trope of a notorious playboy finding true love and turning over a new leaf was so overdone it made me yawn.
‘But still—an S-rank Awakened among the male leads? That can’t be coincidence.’
Adrian was also S-rank. It seemed this world revolved entirely around its protagonists.
Still soaked from the pool, I watched Victor grin cheerfully at me, then stood up.
A giant question mark appeared above Victor’s head.
“Where are you going?”
“Home.”
“What?”
That was a lie. Truthfully, I was going to find Adrian.
After everything Thompson put me through, and with the proxy Awakening quest with Adrian overdue, it was time I met him.
At least I’d gained something—discovering another Awakened student—though…
Of all people, it had to be Victor McQueen, the center of everyone’s attention.
Thankfully, my wristwatch was waterproof and unharmed. Checking the time, I saw it was nearly 12.
‘Still enough time. As long as I meet Adrian before 12…’
I wrung out my soaked clothes—my white short-sleeve T-shirt and the brick-red plaid shirt I’d worn over it were both drenched.
While gathering my hair into a clump and twisting it like laundry, Victor hoisted himself out of the pool, placing a hand on the edge.
He walked over from a sunbed and handed me something.
“Clueless Glasses! Put this on.”

“What is it?”
A quick glance revealed a navy-blue shirt.
It looked way too big for me—most likely his own.
“Why are you giving this to me?”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?
[Small Theater]
The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
