It had already been nearly half a month since Natasha stayed at the ducal mansion. Zieghart had been adhering to the terms of their contract with suspicious thoroughness. In addition, his bizarre behavior, seemingly aimed at winning Natasha’s favor, had continued without fail.

That day was no exception. When Natasha opened her eyes, her husband’s meticulously tidied spot beside her greeted her warmly. On the side table opposite lay the warm tea and a note he had prepared. Also there, as it had been for some time now, sat a small bouquet of flowers.

Her face showed only indifference as she gazed at them. Without even reading the note, the woman tossed it straight into the trash bin.

While maids helped Natasha with her morning toilette, Meliana selected jewelry from the jewel case. She briefly held a necklace she had chosen against Natasha’s neck, then fastened its clasp with a satisfied smile.

Having finished choosing even the hair ornament, Meliana began chattering in earnest.

“Oh! Come to think of it, I have some good news, my lady.”

“Good news?”

“Lady Ten is returning to the ducal mansion today.”

“Kayena?”

“Yes, I heard she’ll arrive around afternoon.”

Seeing Natasha’s expression brighten noticeably, Meliana couldn’t help but smile joyfully along with her.

Kayena was coming back!

Kayena Ten was the only child Natasha truly loved in this world. Calling her her savior who had protected her, and the companion with whom she would share her future life, would hardly be an exaggeration.
