It’s about time someone started explaining things to her since her own mother, Carcus, and even Hughgray haven’t told her ANYTHING.
If Chloe’s mom knows about the whole rutting and dying thing (and I’m sure she does) then she basically told Chloe to let the Duke Die when she told her not to go back to him. I hope Chloe realizes that and gets angry at her mom.
I’m glad everything is finally out in the open! No more secrets! Now I’m curious if they’ll keep her being a princess a secret or not.

Yeah. Because her mother didn’t tell her anything. This just makes her mother more cruel by telling her to stop seeing the Duke. And telling her her feelings are fake and will disappear.
