I Accidentally Imprinted On The Wolf Duke (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 2
Yet, as a servant, there was no way she could refuse an order and stand her ground.
She finally stepped right in front of the Duke.
“You… Hmph.”
The Duke began to say something, then frowned, letting out a long sigh instead.
“Did you… by any chance, apply women’s perfume?”
At the Duke’s words, spoken after a brief pause, Chloe’s eyes widened.
“Huh? A woman? No! What are you talking about!”
Chloe immediately raised her voice.
Perfume? And women’s perfume, of all things!
She was already walking on thin ice every day, terrified of being exposed as a woman—was she insane to actually use something like that?!
The Duke raised one eyebrow, staring fixedly at Chloe.
It was as if he were silently asking, “Did you just yell at me?”
“I’m sorry! It’s just that the idea of me wearing women’s perfume sounded so absurd!”
Chloe quickly lowered her head.
“……”
She could feel the Duke’s piercing gaze landing directly on the crown of her head.
During the few seconds of silence that followed, cold sweat began to bead on her scalp under his intense stare.
“If you didn’t apply perfume, then what is this scent…?”
The Duke muttered something, unclear whether it was a question or just to himself.
“I don’t understand what you’re referring to.”
“It’s coming from you…”
Still bowing her head, Chloe lifted only her eyes slightly, gazing intently at the Duke.
‘From me? What?’
“Well… that couldn’t be.”
Side effects, perhaps. Muttering barely audibly, the Duke finally ordered her to leave.
“Yes!”
Chloe practically fled from the Duke’s office.
Side effects?
Side effects of a one-night mistake?
Unable to understand the meaning behind the Duke’s muttering, Chloe decided she must have misheard him.
[This is the timeline separator]“How strange.”
Hughgray murmured as he watched the door through which Klein had just exited.
Every human naturally possessed their own unique body scent.
Because of this, he always kept a certain distance from others.
It wasn’t that he disliked every human’s natural scent—but he preferred to remain distant from everyone rather than reveal his preferences openly.
Of course, maintaining physical distance didn’t mean his sensitive nose couldn’t detect another person’s scent in the same room.
It just meant he sensed it a bit less.
Yet, oddly enough, Klein Reeden emitted no body scent at all. Thus, there was no discomfort caused by someone’s natural odor.
That was precisely why.
He had permitted this newly hired, unvetted servant to work so close to him as his personal attendant.
Admittedly, Klein possessed the rare ability to speak Tigrimum, which was the primary reason—but even if someone met all qualifications, Hughgray would never accept them as his attendant if their body scent disturbed his nerves.
However, after actually employing the boy as his attendant, he found him shockingly un-servant-like in many ways.
Whether dressing him, serving meals, assisting with baths, or any other task, the boy mostly just stood around blankly or didn’t do anything at all—truly the kind of servant who didn’t even know the first letter of the word “service,” always standing far too distant to properly attend to him.
With that kind of attitude, if he’d served elsewhere as a personal attendant, he would’ve likely been kicked out within a day.
Yet, Hughgray found precisely that quality appealing.
Unlike typical attendants who fussed over every little thing, this one didn’t get in his way.
He was comfortably unobtrusive—present yet absent.
But then…
Why did the boy suddenly emit a body scent stronger than any other human?
Trending
From the moment Klein entered the room, an intoxicating aroma had hit his senses so powerfully that every cell in his body had trembled—an aroma he hadn’t detected at all until just a few days ago, when Klein had reported leaving for vacation.
While giving instructions to Joyce, the scent had been mixed with Joyce’s own, making it unclear—but the moment Joyce passed by Klein on his way out, that wave of body scent had struck him, causing his chest to constrict and his head to spin.
Klein’s scent had been overwhelmingly sweet.
Sweet?! A body scent… being sweet?!
What was wrong with his mind?
Had he ever once found another person’s natural scent alluring?
No—he never had, except for that one woman to whom he’d imprinted.
So this was truly strange.
To feel from a male attendant the same dizzying sensation he’d felt last night from that woman.
Unless his senses had gone awry due to the imprinting, it made no sense to associate a man’s scent with that of his imprinted woman.
Regardless of gender, it was impossible to experience the same sensation from another human that one received only from their imprint.
Could generations of diluted wolf blood have altered the nature of imprinting?
Or was this just a temporary hallucination caused by the aftermath of imprinting?
He almost hoped it was the latter.
“Hah… That’s absurd.”
The self-mocking sigh he’d withheld in front of Joyce and Klein finally escaped his lips.
The idea that the nature of imprinting had changed was pure nonsense.
After all, though nearly every other trait had faded over generations, the imprinting trait alone had stubbornly persisted through inheritance.
Damn imprinting.
His early spring rut—arriving sooner than scheduled while en route to the villa—had sparked this whole mess.
Before the suppressant he’d just taken could fully take effect, the oil in the inn room’s lamp ran out, so he left the room to inform the innkeeper.
At that very moment, a woman happened to be walking down the dark corridor.
He didn’t know if imprinting targets were always chosen so suddenly, without any warning or sign.
All he knew was the overwhelming sensation of a powerful feminine scent piercing through him, clouding his mind completely.
He lost all reason almost instantly, drawn helplessly toward her.
Yet, even then, he still retained some control.
He desperately tried to pull away from her, fearing he might pounce on her at any moment.
He was certain he had.
If only the woman hadn’t responded so eagerly to his rutting state—if only she hadn’t thrown herself into his arms just as excitedly—he might have escaped that crisis unscathed.
After all, he had already taken the suppressant; just a little more restraint would have been enough.
But the woman had practically dove into his arms as if waiting for him, and his instincts had no choice but to surrender to that potent scent.
Once his rut fully took over, the suppressant’s effect vanished instantly.
He’d gone to great lengths to avoid such a disaster precisely by staying away from women.
Yet deep down, he’d quietly trusted himself.
He avoided women to lower risk, but he’d believed his judgment and reason would ensure he imprinted only on a worthy female wolf shifter.
In truth, the reason wolf shifters alone maintained power rivaling lion and tiger shifters was precisely because they’d best preserved their shifter bloodline.
They’d deliberately minimized unions with humans due to the imprinting trait.
Therefore, of course, he should have imprinted on a wolf shifter.
Besides, wasn’t he an Alpha?!
The leader of the wolf shifters, bound by duty to produce a successor Alpha.
Yet that belief had now shattered completely.
Judgment? Reason?!
That night, he’d been nothing but a rutting, blind male beast.
Now, after imprinting, not only could he never produce an heir with anyone else—he couldn’t even share a bed with another.
Though, admittedly, that wasn’t a major problem.
He could simply continue taking suppressants to control his rut, as he always had.
The real issue was that, now that he’d imprinted, suppressants would no longer work.
When rut came, his mind would be consumed by an unbearable thirst for his imprint.
He would suffer agonizingly from unfulfilled desire.
Damn it.

Just imagining the possibility of never finding her again already made his throat parched.
“I must find her.”
This was no time to be confused by some servant’s scent.
Now that he’d imprinted, rut wouldn’t come just once a year in spring—it would strike every month.
To avoid going mad or dying from pain, he absolutely had to find his imprinted woman before the next rut arrived.
[This is the timeline separator]With sheer willpower, Chloe returned to her room without staggering and collapsed onto the bed.
Contrary to her expectation of falling asleep immediately, her mind remained startlingly clear.
Likely because she’d been excessively agitated or tense.
She lifted her arm and sniffed it.
“Scent? What scent is he talking about? Why is he acting so freaked out?”
At dawn, while the Duke was bathing, she’d bolted from his room like a shot.
How lucky it was that the faint sound of water had jolted her back to her senses just in time, even in that half-dazed state.
Though barely able to stand, let alone walk, she’d forced herself to return to the Duke’s residence.
At least she’d known the Duke would be away for several days—so she’d hoped she could rest undisturbed for a while.
Yet strangely, the Duke—who was supposed to be absent for days—returned to the residence almost simultaneously with her.
Now that she thought about it, it had been odd from the start that the Duke was even at that run-down inn in Arne.
It was as if he’d been waiting there just to meet her for that incident.
Of course, that couldn’t possibly be true.
Still, there couldn’t be a more disastrous coincidence.
“Ohhh, my whole body…”
Her already aching body hurt even more.
Mental exhaustion seemed to intensify physical fatigue.
She was crazy—absolutely crazy.
Chloe tugged at her wig in frustration.
What was the point of dressing like this—wearing this stifling wig, covering her face with glasses, binding her chest tightly with cloth, and layering clothes so thickly that her body flapped loosely inside—to pass as a man,
when the one person she absolutely couldn’t afford to be exposed to was the Duke, with whom she’d spent the entire night like that…?
The Duke’s instinct-driven frenzy—and her own equally heated response—flashed vividly in her mind.

Male lead is reincarnated to save his wife
I’ve also read this one twice already. The female lead is kinda soft and gets embarrassed easily—not really my type, but the plot is definitely worth reading. Hurry up and read it, y’all!

Intro
When Shen Yuan encountered Su Jin again in his previous life, she had already become the Prime Minister of the current dynasty. As for him, the former top young master of the capital, he had long since fallen into the abyss, becoming a singer on a pleasure boat.
After a song ended, he was redeemed and sent to the Su Residence.
Su Jin respected and cherished him, gave him a roof over his head, and bestowed him with warmth. Shen Yuan fell deeper and deeper, but before he could express his feelings, Su Jin passed away.
Shen Yuan died to follow her in death, but instead, he returned to when he was fifteen years old.
At that time, he was not yet engaged, and Su Jin was just a poor scholar.
Shen Yuan gritted his teeth, casting aside all his pride, and thought of ways to coax and entice her every day.
The colder and more indifferent Su Jin was towards him, the more proactive Shen Yuan became.
He was not afraid of being mocked by the world, only wanting to marry his Wife-master early, to hold her hand and never let go for a lifetime.
[Note: This story will not specifically point out the male lead’s reincarnation time point; it’s all in the details. Whenever you feel that the male lead is acting strangely, he has most likely been reincarnated.]

Artemtisforaday Chapter 3So her mom made her take some mysterious medicine? Yeah. She’s definitely a shifter too. Or at least not fully human.
Artemtisforaday Chapter 4I wonder how long it’ll take for the Duke to find out his “male” servant is the woman he is looking for.
Artemtisforaday Chapter 5I understood why she wanted to keep her identity hidden at first (because of the money issue) but now I understand why she wants to run away. Sir Joyce just made it seem like her very life is in danger from the Duke!

I actually find this hilarious. The Duke was overly delusional, so she might as well go big im her falsehoods too! 😂🤣 Fight delusion with more extreme delusions!

I hope this guys isn’t a 2nd male lead. I don’t like feeling bad for a childhood friend when we all know who the end game is.

The Duke’s senses as a wolf are dull if the can’t tell the difference between a man and a woman dressed up like a man….
