I Accidentally Imprinted On The Wolf Duke (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 14
Chloe could only stare mutely at the duke, unable to reply to his words.
“It’s hot, isn’t it? You’ve layered on so many clothes. Why are you dressed so heavily? Can you properly attend to my bath like that?”
Indeed, as the duke had pointed out, the air in the bathing chamber felt stiflingly warm, likely due to the tub filled to the brim with hot water.
Though perhaps it felt even hotter because of the duke watching her intently.
“Oh, I’m just more sensitive to the cold than others, so I have to wear many layers.”
She had no choice but to say this.
“Hmm… really?”
“Yes.”
“Then why is there sweat beading on your forehead right now?”
Chloe wiped her brow with the back of her hand.
True enough, fine droplets of sweat had gathered on her forehead.
So much for being a sword master.
The duke clearly had sharp eyes.
From that distance, he’d even noticed the sweat on her forehead.
“That’s not sweat—it’s just water.”
“I can smell your sweat from here—it’s giving me a headache—and you’re still insisting it’s water?”
Ugh, that comment about the smell.
It was just a bit of sweat on her forehead, yet now she had to endure hearing that her sweat stank terribly.
But given that lately the duke had taken to singing body-scent songs, she supposed she’d just have to let it slide.
“I’ll wash your hair, so please lean back comfortably in the tub.”
Chloe quickly changed the subject.
Fortunately, the duke didn’t press her further and simply leaned back in the tub, closing his eyes.
Phew.
Chloe stepped close to the tub and let out a deep sigh.
She’d washed her mother’s hair while she lay down before, but never a man’s.
Surely a man’s hair wouldn’t be that different.
If anything, his short hair might make it even easier?
Chloe moved to the duke’s side and knelt down into position.
Oh my!
It wasn’t easy, and it certainly wasn’t “no different.”
Because the duke had tilted his head back over the tub’s edge, his upper torso—from his neck down to his chest—was fully exposed above the foam.
Moreover, the gently rippling water caused the bubbles to alternately conceal and reveal his broad, solid chest, making the sight all the more dizzying.
She hastily averted her eyes from his chest, only to fixate next on his thick, long neck and the prominent Adam’s apple jutting out—so large it looked like two hands couldn’t even encircle it.
She involuntarily swallowed.
Something wholesome! A more innocent area!
Chloe’s gaze leapt upward past his neck to his forehead, fully revealed because the duke had tilted his head sharply backward.
Compared to his scandalously alluring chest and neck, his forehead was strikingly proper.
His eyebrows, sparse toward the outer edges, formed a neat, straight line before angling slightly downward—so clean and precise they looked painted on with a brush.
Such a modest forehead and eyebrows on such an indecently attractive body—it was contradictory, yet perfect.
When the duke slightly frowned with his eyes still closed, his thick, long eyelashes—dense enough to balance three matchsticks—quivered faintly.
She’d always thought “pretty” didn’t suit the duke, but maybe that wasn’t entirely true.
His eyelashes really were beautiful.
Before she realized it, her gaze had drifted down to his straight, sharply defined nose.
How on earth did such a perfectly straight nose come into existence? Had his parents, the previous duke and duchess, been sculptors?
“What are you doing?”
The duke suddenly opened his eyes and asked.
Startled out of her unexpected admiration of his appearance, Chloe quickly gathered his hair in both hands. A pleasant herbal scent wafted strongly from his soft, dark brown strands flowing down.
“Wow!”
She gasped aloud before she could stop herself, then immediately dropped his hair in shock at the sound she’d made.
“Don’t breathe so loudly right above my head.”

The duke frowned, speaking through narrowed brows.
Chloe’s face instantly flushed hot.
Apparently, she’d become too immersed in her role as a blue-clad attendant hopelessly smitten with the duke. Perhaps she’d been observing his face too closely, bewitched by his beauty.
She’d thought she’d long grown used to his face, yet all she’d been doing lately was marveling at him—where had that supposed familiarity gone?
She clearly hadn’t grown used to it at all. She’d only believed she had.
Focus only on his hair! Only on his hair.
Resolving to look only at his hair, Chloe supported the duke’s head with one hand while pouring water over it with the other.
“Your hands are small.”
“Hik!”
An odd sound escaped her at the duke’s remark.
“At this rate, washing my hair with those hands will take you all day.”
“…No, it won’t!”
What was so special about hair anyway? His was even shorter than her mother’s.
Determined to prove his hair was barely two fists’ length, Chloe clasped it tightly in both hands.
“What are you doing? My hair isn’t even fully wet yet!”
“Oh! Y-yes!”
Chloe quickly released his hair and resumed pouring water.
She supposed she’d need some time to get used to assisting with baths—this being her first time.
No! Not “get used to it.” She hoped today would be the last time.
[This is the timeline separator]His body hardly seemed like it could weigh 63kg.
And why was he wearing so many layers? Just the weight of those clothes alone must be considerable.
Even without seeing beneath his clothes, she could guess—but when he’d rolled up his sleeves, the legs revealed underneath were so slender it was a wonder how he managed to walk at all.
His arms were no different—just as pale as his face, and so thin they looked as if they’d snap if bent with deliberate force.
Could those slender arms really lift and lower his head repeatedly to wash his hair?
Yet he distinctly remembered having touched those seemingly breakable limbs before…
Whoosh.
Just as he was about to recall that memory, Klein suddenly turned around and faced him—locking eyes with a challengingly bold, almost reckless gaze.
Was that really the look of a servant?
Ever since he’d brought the boy back after he’d once quit his post, there had been many moments when Klein’s attitude toward him hardly resembled that of a proper servant.
Was it because the boy saw him as a rival?
Annoying brat. He’d even falsified his physical records. He would expose both his hidden intentions and true nature.
Only then could he find the woman more quickly.
Yet having Klein attend his bath had yielded little more than confirming one small lie. He felt certain there was another, deeper deception to uncover—but couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was.
Moreover, the situation only grew worse with time.
Squelch, squelch. Was this brat seriously kneading his head like dough?
Klein Reeden kept lifting his head up and down, alternately pouring water and stopping, thoroughly unsettling his focus.
The core problem was simply that this boy was standing far too close.
Kneading his scalp with gentle motions. Occasionally brushing that soft hand behind his ears and along his nape. Klein’s breath falling incessantly onto his face, the sensation of those small, tender hands against his scalp.
Damn it!
And why was his body scent so overpoweringly intense?
It was strong enough to feel intoxicating—so potent he didn’t want it to fade. Just as it always had been whenever he’d been near the boy since their imprinting.
If he hadn’t been lying in the tub, he’d surely be dizzy.
This was unbearable. He had to send him away—at once.
The moment Klein poured water over his head for the fourth time while rinsing, Hughgray roughly pulled his hair from Klein’s hands and stood abruptly from the tub.
“You—get out!”
“Eeek!”
Klein suddenly shrieked and fell flat on his backside, covering his thoroughly soaked head with both hands as if he’d seen something indecent.
What on earth was wrong with him?
“Duke!”

The boy even raised his voice while keeping his head bowed.
Now he was acting completely out of line.
“Duke, you can’t just suddenly stand up like that… It startles me… doesn’t it?”
What nonsense! It was his bizarre behavior that startled me more!
“So what—you want me to announce ‘I’m getting up now’ before standing? Can’t I even move my own body freely? Why is a servant acting like this?”
“T-then… will you… bathe… standing up… like this?”
Klein kept his head lowered, refusing to meet his eyes as he stammered.
Why was he stuttering, and why had his ears turned so fiercely red?
“Hey, lift your head. What kind of manners is it to talk with your head buried like that?”
“No.”
“What do you mean ‘no’? Lift your head.”
Klein’s behavior was thoroughly suspicious.
He kept his head bowed so deeply it seemed he might press it into the floor, yet spoke back so defiantly—was this really the same servant who’d attended him these past months?
“Lift your head.”
“No!”
“Stand up and lift your head.”
“Only if the Duke sits back down.”
“Hah!”
He was speechless.
What kind of shameless servant was this? Was the boy now giving orders to his master?
“Duke, if you stand up like that with everything exposed, I won’t know where to look.”
What?
What ridiculous nonsense was this man spouting—ah!
Was he really blue? Did he truly find another man attractive?
Disgusting brat.
“Do as you please. Leave or stay. Keep your head buried there if you like.”
He finally decided not to deal with this deranged servant. His own condition wasn’t exactly stable either.
It was because of the boy’s body scent.
He was even beginning to feel a dull rush of blood surging through him.
He certainly didn’t want this servant seeing him in that state—especially not this spine-chillingly flustered man.
He needed to get away from the boy immediately, bath or no bath.
He stepped out of the tub and pulled on a bathrobe. Handing him the robe was also part of a servant’s bathing duties, but this clueless boy showed no intention of performing any task.
Since he’d always bathed alone, he didn’t feel like insisting the boy fulfill his role properly anyway.
Besides, physical contact between them seemed risky—for both parties.
“Get out!”
The moment he’d wrapped the bathrobe around himself, he nearly shouted at Klein, who still kept his head stubbornly lowered.

Synopsis
During a voyage at sea, Jiang Yang accidentally captures a merman.
Servant: I heard that mermen are fierce and brutal.
Jiang Yang looks at the merman obediently rubbing her palm like a puppy: “You call this fierce and brutal?”
Servant: I heard that mermen have no human nature.
Jiang Yang looks at the merman with wet puppy eyes, obsessively calling her ‘A Yang’ like a childish infant: “You call this having no human nature?”
With great difficulty, she releases the merman back into the sea and returns to shore.
Who would have thought that in less than half a month, the merman, who should have been freely wandering in the South China Sea, would shed his scales, endure the pain of losing his tail, transform into human legs, and come ashore to find her?
He kneels at her feet, rubbing her palm, with merman tears rolling down: “A Yang, don’t abandon me.”

Artemtisforaday
At this point, the Duke is willfully not realizing his “male” servant is a woman. He figured out that Carcus is probably the missing prince just based off of the name but can’t figure out his male servant is actually a female?
