I Accidentally Imprinted On The Wolf Duke (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 13
The missing prince.
Carcus Traskan.
First Prince, son of the First Empress.
Though he held the second position in the line of succession—after the Crown Prince, who was the Empress’s son—he vanished from the Imperial Palace during childhood, withdrawing early from the struggle for succession.
The First Empress, still residing in the palace on the strength of the Emperor’s affection, had sent her son away long ago.
Without granting him any official title or property beyond his status as a prince.
She was the woman most beloved by the Emperor, yet neither an imperial consort nor of noble birth, leaving her powerless to shield her child from the battles of court politics.
Thus, it was a clear choice: she prioritized her son’s life over his chance at inheriting power.
In the life-or-death struggle for the throne, she erased his presence entirely so no one would see him as a threat—and thereby eliminated the danger to his very life.
As a result, the Second Prince—the next in line—was now locked in a fierce rivalry with the Crown Prince over succession.
Unless something unforeseen occurred, Carcus Traskan would likely survive in obscurity, just as the First Empress had intended.
How curious.
Takan, Traskan.
Even the sounds of their surnames were subtly similar.
Now that she thought about it, hadn’t the First Empress’s hometown been near Vorgen?
In any case, this Carcus Takan must be very close to Klein Reeden.
After all, he’d even received a personal guarantee from the Lord of Vorgen on his behalf.
Come to think of it, that was odd too.
Why would the Lord of Vorgen personally vouch for a mere servant’s acquaintance—just to secure an advance payment?
Could it be that Carcus Takan was truly the missing prince?
The more she examined the documents, the more uneasy she felt. Everything about Klein Reeden seemed suspicious—even his guarantor raised red flags.
Klein Reeden, just who are you?
Her initial suspicion—that he was connected to the woman Klein had marked—was steadily expanding into doubt about Klein Reeden himself.
It had grown to the point where she felt compelled to endure any trouble necessary to expose each and every falsehood.
Of course, this conclusion stemmed solely from her realization and regret, as head of the household during the lady’s absence, for having been too neglectful of internal family affairs.
It certainly wasn’t out of any particular interest in a mere servant.
[This is the timeline separator]“What did you say, Your Grace?”
Chloe asked again, wondering if she’d misheard the Duke.
“Attend me while I bathe.”
“Bathe?”
Chloe couldn’t help but echo in confusion. He’d never once asked her to assist with bathing before.
“Now that I think about it, you’ve brazenly deceived me and still managed to claim your position as my personal attendant.”
“……”
He wasn’t wrong. She’d told so many lies by now that she didn’t even know where to begin refuting him.
“Then shouldn’t you at least perform your duties properly?”
“And that means attending your bath?”
“For now, at least.”
For now? Did that mean there’d be more later?
But this wasn’t the time to worry about what might come next.
She had to deal with the immediate task of bathing him first.
Attending a bath literally meant assisting someone while they bathed… and bathing involved being completely undressed…
Chloe blinked rapidly, trying to dispel the image that flickered through her mind like light.
Don’t think about it!
That really was the last thing she should dwell on.
Just recalling the Duke’s naked body from that day made her cheeks burn—and now she had to see it again?
At least it had been dark that night! But bathing required bright lighting…
No! Absolutely not!
“Your Grace… I don’t think I’m suitable to attend your bath.”
I’m not a man, Your Grace! I don’t have the confidence to assist you with bathing—I’m a woman!

“Are you saying a servant isn’t suitable to serve their master? Then what exactly are you good for?”
She had no retort. It was perfectly normal for personal attendants to assist with bathing.
“I’m fond of you, Your Grace, so seeing you undressed might make me feel… strange.”
Even if she wasn’t actually fond of him, the “strange feeling” part was one hundred percent true.
“Should I really consider my servant’s feelings?”
Oh, you wicked Duke.
He hadn’t been like this before.
He’d never ignored a servant’s words so completely or given arbitrary orders like this.
He’d always done everything himself.
“Of course, I don’t mind—but won’t my gaze make you uncomfortable, Your Grace?”
If a male servant openly admires you, wouldn’t that make you uneasy? Wouldn’t you feel the need to refuse?
“Not particularly.”
Then why have you kept your distance from everyone—male or female—as if they were all germs until now?!
She felt like grabbing him by the collar and demanding an answer.
“You’ve always managed alone until now. Why do you suddenly need assistance?”
“Until now, doing things myself was easier, but now it occurs to me—perhaps my attendant has become far too comfortable because of me.”
Good heavens.
His personality had clearly changed.
He was now forcing her to do tasks she disliked, simply because he couldn’t stand seeing a servant idle.
“Your Grace, didn’t you dislike having someone attend your bath?”
“Well? I’ve never actually had anyone attend me before.”
Chloe bit her lip, unable to reply.
Truthfully, when she’d first taken on the role of attendant, she hadn’t exactly prepared herself for things like this.
She’d known intellectually that she’d have to let go of her former way of life, become someone’s servant, and act accordingly—no matter what duties were assigned to her.
Yet the awkwardness of her very first day on the job had been beyond anything she’d imagined.
“Master.”
It was a word she’d never once used to address another person while growing up.
Even though her mother had raised her and her brother in the woods, isolated from society, she’d always emphasized: “Never bow to anyone. You are your own masters.”
That was probably why her mother had so vehemently opposed her brother’s decision to work for a ducal family—though she’d ultimately respected his choice, saying, “You are the master of your own life.”
By some stroke of fortune, the Duke wasn’t the kind of master who humiliated his servants.
Assisting with bathing wasn’t an excessive request—it was something any master could reasonably expect. He’d simply never asked before.
It was her own unusual circumstances that made this perfectly normal request feel excessive.
“Get ready. Ah—and you seem to be overdressed. When attending a bath, it’s better to wear something simple. Unless you want your clothes soaking wet and dripping all over the carpet.”
“……!”
“Strip down appropriately and come back.”
Unfazed by her inner turmoil, the Duke offered this advice with perfect composure.
Her mind snapped to attention.
Strip down and come back?
Instinctively, Chloe crossed her arms over her chest, shielding herself.
She’d momentarily forgotten she was fully clothed.
“What are you doing?”
“Ah! Nothing. I’ll go prepare right away.”
Chloe hurriedly dropped her arms and fled the Duke’s study with a dazed expression.
This was truly a crisis.
As the Duke had pointed out, she couldn’t possibly attend his bath wearing her jacket and all these layers.
But she couldn’t undress either.
Under her shirt was another shirt, beneath that underwear, and yet another layer beneath that. She’d worn so many!
Just how much should she take off to ensure her figure remained hidden?
Every moment in the ducal mansion had felt precarious since her blunder that night—but this was the first time she’d faced a threat this close to being stripped bare.
Chloe stood a few paces away from the bathtub, head bowed deeply, waiting only for the Duke to step inside.

Thud. Thud. Clatter.
She heard the sound of the Duke’s clothes hitting the floor.
She knew she was supposed to help him undress and neatly fold his discarded garments.
Yet she couldn’t bring herself to approach him or even raise her head.
Fortunately, the Duke didn’t seem to care whether his clothes lay crumpled on the floor—he said nothing.
Finally, the sound of clothes dropping ceased, and the splash of water signaled that the Duke had entered the tub.
“Ugh! Who dumped so much bath oil in here?”
Only then did Chloe cautiously lift her head.
Before the Duke arrived, she’d poured an entire bottle of bath oil into the tub, hoping the thick layer of bubbles floating on the surface would hide his submerged body.
Sure enough, only bubbles were visible atop the water.
“I added a lot because it’s supposed to help with fatigue. Would you like me to wash your hair if you lean back?”
The Duke looked her up and down.
“You’re going to do that dressed like that? Shirt, trousers—your clothes will get completely soaked.”
“I’ll roll up my sleeves and trousers. Don’t worry.”
Chloe had already decided she’d just have to accept slightly damp clothes, so she’d removed only her jacket and kept everything else on. For a woman disguised as a man, those layered clothes were as vital as armor to a soldier heading into battle.
She began rolling up her sleeves.
The Duke stared openly at her. Uncomfortable under his gaze, Chloe subtly turned her body away.
But instantly, she regretted turning.
With her back to the Duke, she had to hike her trousers up past her calves, which drew entirely different kinds of attention.
It felt as if she were thrusting her backside toward him.
How mortifying. So embarrassing.
In the end, she slowly turned back to face him and rolled up the trouser leg on her other side.
Why did he have to do this?
Absurdly, the Duke kept watching her—blatantly, shamelessly.
Even though she’d only rolled her clothes up to her elbows and knees, revealing limbs normally hidden, his intense, unwavering gaze made her feel as exposed as if she’d stripped completely naked.
“Aren’t you hot?”
The Duke asked, brushing damp hair from his forehead—perhaps because of the thick, humid steam filling the room.
Or maybe it was the warm air from the hot water, or the dampness itself.
His languid motion looked unbearably sensual.

At this point, the Duke is willfully not realizing his “male” servant is a woman. He figured out that Carcus is probably the missing prince just based off of the name but can’t figure out his male servant is actually a female?
If the mom didn’t like Carcus at first, I wonder if he might be evil or something?
Also, will the Duke feel bad making her do all this servant stuff once he finds out who she is?
I honestly want her to be able to leave at this point and then have him chase her!
