You Accepted the Contract (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 8
Si Yoon tightened his grip on Mi Joo’s arm and gently guided her back onto the sofa. Mi Joo yielded to his controlled yet gentle actions, letting her body follow his lead.
“My father passed away two years ago.”
Mi Joo perked up at the sudden mention of family but quickly regained her composure.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t see how your father’s passing has anything to do with your marriage proposal.”
“My father was a well-known potter—someone whose name would be recognized if mentioned.”
At his remark about a famous potter who’d died two years prior, Mi Joo immediately thought of the artist Jeong Dam Kim Jae Jun.
“May I ask your father’s name…?”
“Jeong Dam.”
Mi Joo covered her mouth with her hand to hide her surprise, but realizing that gesture itself betrayed her shock, she quickly lowered her hand and adjusted her posture as if nothing had happened.
Even someone unfamiliar with art would know this globally renowned artist who frequently appeared in news reports and interviews.
“Even if you were too busy with work, if you’d paid even the slightest attention to news from Korea, you’d have heard something about it.”
“Yes—I heard there’s been a lawsuit over his final works.”
“My father left some pieces in my uncle’s name, so I filed a legal claim for my rightful inheritance. I came to reclaim what’s mine.”
She’d heard about the legal battle among the artist’s family members, but seeing the plaintiff—who sought his share—right before her eyes left Mi Joo feeling surreal.
Moreover, the parties involved belonged to one of Korea’s most prestigious academic dynasties.
The family ran a massive private educational foundation owning not just a university but also private elementary, middle, and high schools, special education institutions, and even a university hospital—rumored to hold staggering real estate holdings across Seoul and Gyeonggi Province.
“But still, to go against your own uncle…”
“You must think I’m materialistic.”
“…”
“You’re right. I am materialistic—the kind of person who won’t rest until I get exactly what I want.”
Si Yoon’s gaze toward Mi Joo flickered strangely,
like the fierce look of someone determined to claim even what stood right before his eyes.
Yet Mi Joo’s eyes sparkled as she looked back at him.
‘This man’s father didn’t just create exquisite ceramics—he also crafted his son into a masterpiece.’
The side profile of Si Yoon, leaning in deeply as he spoke, was beautifully picturesque.
“I won’t let my father’s works end up in auction houses that buy and sell art purely for profit.”
“What about your uncle, then?”
“Let’s stop discussing this long family history.”
Though Mi Joo had often read online about inheritance battles among chaebol families and had anticipated something like this, she couldn’t press further in front of Si Yoon, who clearly guarded his private life.
“In any case, I must file this lawsuit and inherit the cultural foundation to protect my father’s legacy. My grandfather issued a strict ultimatum: I must return with a fiancée before coming back to Korea.”
“So despite all this talk about protecting your father’s art, aren’t you really just driven by greed for money and position—going so far as to file lawsuits and force a marriage?”
It was amusing to see someone who usually blushed and apologized over trivial things speak so bluntly now. Si Yoon found Mi Joo unexpectedly charming and couldn’t help but smile subtly.
On the other hand, despite his morally questionable proposal and blunt words, every time Si Yoon smiled, Mi Joo felt a strange flutter in her chest.
‘A man who can’t love women.’
That’s why he showed her no romantic interest and so casually proposed a contractual relationship. She felt ashamed of herself for harboring selfish feelings toward such a man.
“Don’t laugh—we’re having a serious conversation here.”
Trying to mask her emotions, Mi Joo feigned sternness and snapped at Si Yoon—but her efforts only made her cheeks flush redder, and her forced frown looked clumsy and unconvincing.
“Just a moment ago, you stood up abruptly saying you didn’t want to hear another word—so why the sudden change of heart?”
“It’s not that my mind changed…”
“I’m currently being pressured by my grandfather.”
Si Yoon emphasized his predicament once more, and at the word “pressured,” Mi Joo burst out laughing.
Si Yoon didn’t know exactly what made her laugh, but he liked seeing Mi Joo laugh heartily at his story.
He even found himself thinking that—contractual or not—it might feel good to have such a pure-hearted woman bear his name as his bride.
“Now you won’t misunderstand me as making empty jokes or foolish teasing about you, will you?”
“I’m sorry for misunderstanding you.”
“So… will you consider this contract with me?”
Si Yoon leaned closer toward Mi Joo—close enough that she could feel his breath on her skin.
‘Dangerous.’
She needed to push this man away before he breached her safe distance.
‘It’s not me who’s in danger. Looking at his firm lips, it’s him who’s in danger—from my selfishness.’

Yet Mi Joo couldn’t turn her head away.
Her eyes kept falling helplessly onto Si Yoon’s full lips. She tried hard to maintain a composed expression so he wouldn’t notice her racing heart.
Si Yoon’s heart throbbed painfully.
‘Does she really not understand how dangerous it is to look at me like this?’
How perilous it was for a woman to be this close to a man she’d only met twice.
Though Si Yoon had initially proposed marriage out of contractual necessity, he now thought keeping Mi Joo by his side wouldn’t be so bad after all.
“Do you really have no one else you can ask?”
“At the moment, there’s no one but you.”
“You’re handsome and put-together—how can you have no one?”
Caught off guard by her sudden flirtation, Si Yoon laughed heartily and briefly rested his forehead against Mi Joo’s shoulder before pulling away. He just wanted to create even the smallest, seemingly accidental contact.
But whether Si Yoon laughed or not, Mi Joo remained serious.
“Haven’t you dated anyone all this time?”
“Aren’t you prying too deeply into my private life?”
“Oh—again, I’ve overstepped.”
Since Si Yoon clearly couldn’t tell his grandfather he loved another man, Mi Joo tried her best to understand his situation.
“I don’t know much about that world, though.”
“What world?”
“The world where men love men…”
“Hah! Aren’t you full of prejudice and misunderstandings?”
Mi Joo raised both hands as if to say she wouldn’t engage in unnecessary arguments.
“So I understand your situation entirely—needing a bride, this marriage arrangement, all of it. Since you have to go through with it anyway, why not find a woman who understands you and practice first?”
“Didn’t you just say you understand my situation completely?”
“Yes.”
“What matters most is standing before my grandfather in a month—but if you think you need practice, whether it’s dating or anything else, let’s start practicing right now.”
He was confident he could do better than any other man once they began.
Faced with Si Yoon’s earnest expression, Mi Joo couldn’t find words to refuse—whether it was practice or assistance.
Si Yoon straightened his back from the sofa and draped his arm over the headrest where Mi Joo sat,
bringing them close, separated only by a sliver of space.
Mi Joo, whose life had been filled only with work and study until now, suddenly felt as if dormant romantic cells all over her body had awakened and started tingling.
Entranced, she gazed at him with hazy eyes, staring at his lips as she murmured,
“Practice… can we really do that?”
Si Yoon nodded and replied in a low voice,
“If you want to.”
And then their lips met.
It was Mi Joo who lifted her head first, seeking out Si Yoon’s lips.
Soft yet burning hot—she hadn’t expected his lips to feel like this.
‘Softer than I imagined…’
Si Yoon lowered his head toward Mi Joo, letting her take the lead.
He wanted to match her eagerness with his own, but instead found himself patiently enjoying her assault—like a little bird stretching its neck eagerly to receive food.
‘Haa…’
After a while, breathless, Mi Joo pulled back slightly and looked at Si Yoon.
His still-damp hair shimmered faintly.
Her own lips, flushed from the kiss, parted slightly as her chest rose and fell gently.
Her eyes were filled entirely with Si Yoon.
She also sensed his calm restraint—how he remained unmoved by her provocation.
“Since you started it, now it’s my turn.”
Unable to hold back any longer, Si Yoon lowered his head and gently covered her lower lip with his.
A soft, melting sensation spread through his entire body.
Unlike Mi Joo’s gentle kiss, Si Yoon’s carried a raw, intense stimulation.
Mi Joo hadn’t had the luxury of boyfriends during high school—her days filled with exhausting academic pressure.

After graduating and moving to the U.S., she’d dated men who showed interest in her.
She’d experienced light kisses at breakups, and a few serious attempts at intimacy seeking deeper connection.
And recently, that revolting kiss on the yacht.
But Si Yoon’s kiss was something entirely new—a rough yet sweet sensation she’d never felt before.
Though Si Yoon approached her gently, Mi Joo couldn’t withstand his strength and kept leaning backward until she was fully pressed against the sofa backrest with nowhere else to retreat.
To ease her struggle, Si Yoon placed one hand on the sofa back to support his weight, while his other hand cradled her cheek, slid past her ear, and encircled her neck—pulling her lips even closer to his.
Mi Joo’s mind grew hazy, her lips parting instinctively as their tongues entwined, creating soft, smooth sensations that bloomed between them.
Breathless from Si Yoon’s assault, Mi Joo reached up and gripped his coat.
Only then did Si Yoon finally break the kiss he’d deepened for her sake and looked at her.
Mi Joo slowly opened her eyes and met his gaze.
‘I was the one who started it…’
Though she’d initiated the kiss herself, she never expected to be so utterly overwhelmed.
Si Yoon let out a shaky breath, happily watching her chest rise and fall rapidly.
Then his gaze drifted back to her lips.
The kiss had left them flushed and shimmering.
He raised his thumb and gently traced her lower lip.
Even through his fingertips, he could feel her softness.
Only then did Mi Joo fully realize what she’d started—and blushing with shame, she tried to push against Si Yoon’s chest to create distance between them.
But Si Yoon, his eyes locked firmly on hers, didn’t budge.
She only sank deeper into the sofa herself.
“Since you started it, I get to finish it.”
‘So this isn’t the end?’
Alongside fear, Mi Joo felt a hazy, hopeful anticipation.
“Isn’t that only fair?”
‘Fair?’
Her heart pounded so violently she thought it might burst, goosebumps covering her entire body—yet Si Yoon appeared completely composed, as if untouched by any arousal or reaction.
Was this really fair?
Si Yoon lightly brushed his knuckles along Mi Joo’s jawline, tilting her face up before turning his head once more to find her lips.
‘If it’s fair, you should tremble and burn just like I do.’
Mi Joo fretted desperately, unsure how to make Si Yoon react the way she was, or what expression to show in response to his advances.
But her anxious efforts and worries lasted only a moment.
Under Si Yoon’s kiss, Mi Joo couldn’t think at all.
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?
[Small Theater]
The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
