You Accepted the Contract (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 7
“If you don’t like it, there’s also café mocha.”
Si Yoon held up another cup.
“No, I like it.”
I like it… Thinking her voice was lovely, Si Yoon smiled faintly and handed the cup to Mi Joo.
Then he settled himself right in the middle of the three-seater sofa. Even though he sat slightly apart from Mi Joo, the firm way he sank into the couch resonated through to her as well.
Mi Joo accepted the cup with both hands and glanced at him briefly. His robe gaped open slightly, revealing broad shoulders and the well-defined musculature of his chest.
Mi Joo quickly gulped down the drink like a servant.
“I thought women worried about calories, but I guess not?”
“Once a day, you’ve got to treat yourself to something high-calorie…”
Mi Joo abruptly stopped mid-sentence and set her cup down. She didn’t feel like revealing anything about her eating habits. She added a clumsy excuse.
“Women like sweet things. Ah—you clearly don’t know much about women.”
Watching Mi Joo deliberately speak in a provocative tone, Si Yoon let out a soft chuckle.
“Do I really need to know?”
Right. This guy had no interest in women at all. He didn’t want to understand them.
And yet, her heart pounded at the sight of his broad chest, her breath caught at his sexy back view, and her emotions swayed at the gentleness of his voice.
‘Stop it. Don’t even think about it.’
If she kept seeing him as a man, she’d be no different from that woman who kissed him so aggressively in the parking lot.
A wave of guilt washed over her again. Mi Joo looked at Si Yoon, forcing her expression to stay calm.
“Are you eating well? Is your mind at ease?”
Taken aback by the sudden question, one of Si Yoon’s eyebrows twitched slightly.
“There’s a place I know—I can connect you with their counseling center if you’d like.”
“What kind of counseling center?”
“A sexual assault victim support center.”
After a brief pause, Si Yoon let out an amused laugh.
“Are you actually worried about me right now?”
“You might look fine on the outside and say you won’t file a lawsuit, but psychological trauma isn’t something to ignore.”
Gathering courage from somewhere, Mi Joo scooted slightly closer and sat beside Si Yoon.
“If it’s hard, talking to a professional might help.”
Si Yoon sank deeper into the sofa and dragged a hand across his face.
‘Ugh, what is it about this woman that makes her so damn soft?’
“If you’re holding back because you’re afraid your secret might come out…”
“My secret? What secret?”
Si Yoon lifted his head from the sofa backrest and looked at Mi Joo as if asking what on earth she thought she knew.
“What that woman said in the parking lot back then.”
“What exactly did she say?”
He didn’t usually care what others said, but hearing Mi Joo speak so earnestly stirred a real curiosity in him.
“That you like men, Si Yoon.”
Mi Joo instantly felt so embarrassed she wanted to vanish into the sofa crevice.
Si Yoon let out a hollow laugh in disbelief. Seeing him amused and baffled, Mi Joo remained unaware of her own misunderstanding, still wearing that earnest yet awkward expression.
“If you’re holding back because you’re afraid that’ll be exposed…”
“Are you genuinely worried about me right now? Or are you making fun of me? Pick one!”
Si Yoon’s suddenly low, firm voice even sounded intimidating.
Who was really worrying about whom here?
Now that he thought about it, this woman clearly believed Si Yoon was a man uninterested in women, so she’d let her guard down completely.
That’s why she’d come alone to his spacious house at this dusky hour—to check on him and comfort him as if it were perfectly natural.
‘It’s like a fluffy little rabbit rolled straight into a tiger’s den without even realizing it.’
Si Yoon felt an urge to show this rabbit the tiger instinct coiled inside him.
He imagined lifting just one large paw and watching her shrink back in shock, eyes wide—but the thought brought a faint smile, which he quickly suppressed, ashamed of his own inappropriate fantasy.
‘Why does this woman, who’s sincerely worried and trying to comfort me, seem so intriguing?’
Mi Joo’s utterly unexpected behavior piqued his curiosity and made him itch to see just how far she’d go.

“Don’t worry. I don’t have PTSD, and I don’t need counseling.”
“Oh, good. You also said there’d be no lawsuit or testimony needed, right?”
“Yes.”
“Phew.”
Mi Joo let out a clearly audible sigh of relief. Her chest rose prominently before sinking down again along with her small shoulders.
“Then, shall we talk about work?”
Si Yoon was puzzled by her sudden shift from comfort to business.
“Do your emotions and thoughts always bounce around like this?”
“It’s not bouncing around—it’s switching into work mode. I need to earn money.”
Mi Joo made no effort to hide her blunt motivation to make money.
Though Si Yoon found her refreshingly different from the women he’d known before—strange yet impressive—he decided to accept her seriousness.
“Oh, work mode. Are there other modes too?”
“What do you mean?”
Mi Joo eyed him warily. Si Yoon gave a helpless smile at her guarded look.
“Don’t be nervous. What do you think I’m going to do? Why are you so tense?”
“I’m sorry.”
“Let’s skip all this ‘sorry’ and ‘excuse me’ talk. Let’s not even do things that require those words.”
“Sor—”
Mi Joo caught herself from her habitual apology and quietly said the next words instead.
“What documents do you need?”
“A marriage certificate.”
“Whose marriage certificate?”
“…My marriage certificate.”
Mi Joo visibly exhaled in relief, tension easing from her shoulders.
“Why?”
“I was worried it might be something related to drugs since you said you needed documents.”
“Ha! What kind of image do I even have in your eyes, Choi Mi Joo?”
Unfazed by his question, Mi Joo replied with relief.
“I was already a little uneasy when I left, but as I got closer to your house, all sorts of wild thoughts started popping up.”
“What other wild thoughts, besides drugs?”
Seeing Si Yoon’s exasperated expression, Mi Joo answered apologetically.
“I was even worried you might’ve gotten into serious trouble affecting your immigration status or visa.”
Si Yoon pressed a hand to his forehead. Just where would this woman’s unpredictable imagination go if left unchecked?
And why did he keep growing more curious and interested in her? Even he couldn’t understand it himself.
“I’ve been dealing with a lot of personal worries lately, so I guess I assumed others might be too. I overreacted.”
He was curious about Mi Joo’s own worries, but Si Yoon firmly suppressed his curiosity.
He then pressed his forehead against the sofa headrest and turned his neck away.
Mi Joo, who’d been sitting stiffly upright, seemed to relax as well and sank deeper into the sofa.
“You look too upright and proper to do anything weird.”
Si Yoon tilted his head back and looked down at Mi Joo from under lowered lashes.
“You think I look upright? Weren’t you just treating me like some druggie? And for the record, I’m not upright at all.”
“What?”
“I’m about to say something crooked.”
Mi Joo tensed again, straightening her back off the sofa and lightly biting her lower lip.
“I’ve finished all my studies and research, and I’ll be returning to Korea soon.”
“Oh, you were studying?”
‘Just what kind of person does she think I am? I want to mess up that hair of hers.’
“So?”
“But before I leave, I need a marriage certificate.”
“Oh, right—you did say you needed one.”

“And I need a bride, too.”
Si Yoon cut straight to the point to prevent any further wild assumptions, but Mi Joo immediately waved both hands.
“No way. Same-sex marriage isn’t legal in our state…”
“Wait a moment.”
Si Yoon briefly considered whether he should clear up her misunderstanding, but seeing how stubbornly she clung to her assumption, he didn’t feel like correcting her just yet.
‘I’ll clear that up myself later.’
For now, he concealed the truth and pulled Mi Joo’s business card from his robe pocket.
“You said you’d do anything, right? I’m not asking you to sleep with me—just to play the role of a bride.”
Indeed, whether real or fake, if a man showed up with a male bride, his family would be shocked—so Mi Joo turned utterly serious.
“So you’re talking about a sham marriage?”
“Think of it that way if it’s easier. You wouldn’t need to maintain an actual marital relationship, just officially prove to my family that we’re legally married.”
But Mi Joo had never done anything like this before. She didn’t even know who she could possibly recommend, and none of her acquaintances seemed suitable for such a role.
“What should I do? I don’t really know many people.”
“I’d like you, Choi Mi Joo, to do it yourself.”
“…”
Si Yoon broke the silence between them.
“Of course, I know this sounds like a strange proposal.”
“A proposal?”
“Or maybe we should call it a deal?”
Mi Joo lightly slapped her own cheeks as if to snap herself back to reality, eyes wide open.
“Whether you call it a deal or a proposal, it’s simply not something I can do.”
Taking advantage of Mi Joo’s flustered state, Si Yoon continued.
“Think of it as a contract between equals. Through this agreement, you’d gain a lot as well.”
“No. That’s enough. I’m not going to do it anyway, so there’s no point in hearing more. I’m sorry, but I can’t accept this request from you, Kim Si Yoon.”
Si Yoon swept back his damp hair. Strands fell again over his forehead, and despite his shocking words, Mi Joo still found him beautiful.
‘Ugh, why does someone this handsome have to like men and be stuck with such worries?’
Mi Joo looked at Si Yoon with pity in her eyes.
Marriage had long been a lingering dilemma for Si Yoon, but for Mi Joo, the idea itself was so sudden and unexpected that Si Yoon well knew he had no convincing words to persuade her.
Yet he couldn’t just tell her she’d misunderstood and send her away—he’d never lived as someone careless or absurd to anyone.
More importantly, he genuinely felt curiosity and interest toward Mi Joo, and having expressed that, he didn’t want to take it back.
“Did my words sound like a joke to you?”
“Yes.”
Mi Joo glanced around at the luxurious interior, complete with a garden, swimming pool, and terrace.
“It doesn’t feel good—like someone who clearly lacks nothing is bored with life and decided to mess with someone just for entertainment.”
Mi Joo put her notebook and pencil back into her bag and stood up.
“Sit down. I still have something to say.”
“No. I have nothing more to hear.”
Si Yoon reached out and firmly grasped Mi Joo’s wrist.
“If you leave like this, Choi Mi Joo, I’ll truly end up being exactly what you said—a reckless man wasting his life, toying with women out of sheer boredom.”
“…”
“Don’t I deserve a chance to explain myself, give my side, or speak my truth?”
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
