You Accepted the Contract (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 16
Mi Joo came out to the parking lot and stood there for a long time, unable to press the remote key.
At that moment, the sky flashed brightly and thunder rumbled. Chilling wind blew as raindrops began to fall one by one. Soon, those drops grew heavier.
Pitter-patter.
Mi Joo pressed the remote and quickly looked for her car.
Even to Mi Joo, who didn’t know much about cars, it looked quite expensive as it blinked its headlights, waiting for her. With the intensifying rain, Mi Joo hurried inside, but because her leg was injured and her steps were slow, half her body was already soaked.
‘What should I say when we meet?’
She had so much to say, yet nothing felt organized. In that confused state, the rain streaking down the car window started to blur. Just like her life—she couldn’t see ahead.
‘I’ve never had immigration officers barge in like that before… And I didn’t even work illegally. Why?’
Mi Joo felt wronged. Then strange details began surfacing in her mind.
‘They said they were immigration officers, but I didn’t even check their ID cards.’
Mi Joo took out the receipt again. Her hand holding it trembled. Was it because she was cold from the rain, or because of fear?
On the paper, her name and the fine amount were handwritten, and below them was a clear official seal. Yet something felt suspicious.
‘Did I judge too hastily? But what if they really were immigration officers?’
If she didn’t pay the fine, she’d be deported immediately.
‘But what if those people were fake?’
She had already handed over her passport to them. Either way, everything felt uneasy and disadvantageous for Mi Joo.
Mi Joo raised her hand and smacked her own head.
“Ouch.”
The pain in her wrist hurt more than her head. When she slipped in the bathroom, she had twisted her wrist too, but she hadn’t mentioned it at the hospital.
And now, after some time had passed, the pain was gradually getting worse.
Dragging it out would only increase her anxiety, so Mi Joo started the car.
Between the pouring rain and getting used to the new car, she was tense, and her mind was a mess trying to figure out how to handle this situation. Eventually, she arrived at Si Yoon’s house.
Even after arriving, Mi Joo couldn’t get out of the car and hesitated for a long time.
Then, over the high wall, she saw one of the lights in Si Yoon’s house turn off. Mi Joo checked her watch.
“Already 11 o’clock?”
Feeling rushed, Mi Joo looked out the window. The rain was only grew heavier with no sign of stopping.
‘Is there an umbrella?’
It was a new car, but not the kind that came with an umbrella. Thinking she couldn’t delay any longer, Mi Joo took a deep breath and opened the door.
Splash.
The rain was heavier than expected, and Mi Joo couldn’t muster the courage to step out. But she couldn’t hesitate anymore. The moment she put one foot down and stood up, the downpour drenched her completely.
The distance from the car to Si Yoon’s house wasn’t far, but with her injured leg, Mi Joo couldn’t run.
“I’m already soaked anyway…”
She had tried not to cry, but right now it felt okay to let the tears flow freely. No one was watching, and even she couldn’t tell if it was rain or tears.
Mi Joo walked slowly toward Si Yoon’s gate, as if resigned to everything.
Even then, she stood there unable to ring the bell. Her hand hovered over it several times, but she couldn’t bring herself to press that small button. As she did, the rain grew heavier, her body shivering from the cold, and finally Mi Joo barely managed to press the bell.
A long while after ringing, a voice came through the intercom.
“Yes.”
Along with Si Yoon’s surprised voice, the gate opened. Although she had only been here once, Mi Joo stepped into Si Yoon’s garden that somehow felt familiar.
Sensor lights turned on wherever she walked, illuminating the path, but they only made the trembling of her soaked shoulders more visible.
She saw Si Yoon running out with an umbrella.
‘Should I just turn back?’
Seeing Si Yoon brought a new wave of fear. But her feet wouldn’t move forward or backward.
In one big stride, Si Yoon reached her, wrapped one arm around Mi Joo, and held the umbrella over her. He could feel her slender shoulders shaking violently.
“Let’s go inside.”
Si Yoon kept his arm around her shoulders and tilted the umbrella toward her. They were already soaked, but he wanted to block even a little more rain. Mi Joo’s body was trembling harder and harder.
Once inside the house, Si Yoon brought a towel, wrapped it around Mi Joo, then pulled her into his arms over the towel.
“Why did you come all the way here in this rain?”
His voice sounded almost angry, but the arms holding Mi Joo were gentle.
“Take off your clothes. You’ll catch a cold.”
“No.”

Mi Joo clutched the front of her dress that clung to her soaked body and wouldn’t let go. Even if she refused, Si Yoon couldn’t leave her like this, so he suddenly lifted her up.
“Then at least warm your body.”
Si Yoon carried Mi Joo to the bathroom, sat her in the whirlpool tub, and turned on the water. In no time, the tub filled with water and countless bubbles.
Her body, chilled from the cold rain, began to melt and relax in the warm water. Mi Joo wanted to forget why she had come here for a moment and closed her eyes.
“Open your eyes. You can’t fall asleep here.”
Her thin eyelids, so delicate the blood vessels showed, fluttered before she opened her eyes. Her dazed gaze looked at Si Yoon for a second, then softly closed again.
Mi Joo tried to stay upright in the water even with her eyes closed, but her body kept slipping even in the bubbles. When Si Yoon reached out his hand, Mi Joo grabbed it tightly, as if to keep herself steady even with her eyes shut.
“You’ll fall like this.”
Deciding it wouldn’t do, Si Yoon stepped into the tub still wearing his robe and settled behind Mi Joo’s back.
Normally she would have chattered something, but this time Mi Joo silently leaned on Si Yoon.
Si Yoon let Mi Joo’s head rest against his chest and gently stroked her wet hair.
Mi Joo’s fluttering dress and Si Yoon’s silk pajamas clung to their bodies, revealing every contour clearly.
Mi Joo felt Si Yoon’s hot sigh near her ear, but her mind was too drowsy to ask why.
Si Yoon was already regretting having into the tub.
Both of them were clothed, but the rising bubbles tickled them, and even worse—their soaked clothes might as well not exist, their bodies pressed far too close.
Unaware of Si Yoon’s feelings, Mi Joo, now warmed, squirmed to find a comfortable spot in his arms and spoke languidly.
“I’m sorry, but…”
“…”
“Can I stay like this for just ten minutes?”
It was an innocent request from Mi Joo, who wanted to forget her exhausting day even briefly.
“Just a little while like this…”
“Yes. Just a little while.”
That short moment for Mi Joo became a long, agonizing time of patience and restraint for Si Yoon as he held back surging emotions.
To hold the weakening Mi Joo who leaned on him completely, Si Yoon leaned further back, and Mi Joo sank deeper against him in response.
To keep Mi Joo steady against the water currents, he slid his hand down and wrapped it around her waist—his palm landed on her soft, flat lower belly.
“Hoo.”
Si Yoon stretched his hand a little further to avoid her belly and placed it on her pelvis. But the sensation didn’t disappear; the soft swell of Mi Joo’s breast pressed against the inside of his arm.
Even the slightest movement sparked new points of contact and sensation all over, and Si Yoon’s body grew hotter and hotter.
Oblivious to it all, Mi Joo was fighting a drowsy battle against sleep.
“When ten minutes are up… wake me.”
At Mi Joo’s mumbled words, Si Yoon couldn’t even answer—he was afraid that if he opened his mouth, the desire choking his throat would burst out.
Instead, Si Yoon raised his hand, stroked her hair, and that was his reply.
But only a few seconds passed before he couldn’t bear it anymore and woke her.
“Choi Mi Joo.”
“Just a little more…”
Mi Joo shook her head as if she didn’t want to, and to keep from slipping down in the current, she shifted her waist and hips, pressing even closer against Si Yoon.
“Haa…”
Si Yoon tilted his head back and covered his eyes with his hand.
He needed to get up now, but he didn’t want to—and he couldn’t just shake her off either.
Si Yoon dragged his hand down his face and took a deep breath. He could feel Mi Joo rising and falling together with his heaving chest—Mi Joo, who moved and reacted with his every motion.
Si Yoon slipped his hands under Mi Joo’s arms. Her soft breasts pressed against his fingertips, but he pretended not to notice.
“You can’t sleep here. Let’s go to the bedroom.”
Si Yoon lifted Mi Joo up. She was heavy with water, yet felt light as nothing in his arms.
Mi Joo also blinked rapidly, trying somehow to wake herself.
Si Yoon sat her on the marble chair in front of the mirror.
“Wait here for a moment.”
He brought another towel and dried Mi Joo’s soaked hair.
“What should we do?”
When Mi Joo looked up at Si Yoon, her eyes were filled with him. Si Yoon had just come out of the tub too.
Water dripped from his fallen forelocks onto the vivid silk pajamas that clung tightly, highlighting every sculpted muscle even more clearly.

Only now did Mi Joo come to her senses—she had walked straight back into the tiger’s den.
“I don’t have any clothes. Women’s clothes.”
Si Yoon gave an awkward smile, looking troubled. At those words, Mi Joo lowered her head and stared only at her fingertips.
“Of course. It’s Kim Si Yoon’s house.”
If there had been any woman’s clothing, Mi Joo’s heart would have ached. And strangely, hearing that there really wasn’t any made one corner of her heart feel empty.
“Wait a sec.”
While Mi Joo dried her hair, Si Yoon returned with a thick bathrobe. He took Mi Joo’s wrist to hand it to her, and her face crumpled.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing.”
“Are you hurt?”
Si Yoon’s expression turned frightening as he examined Mi Joo’s wrist. Seeing no external injury, he gently pressed it.
“Ahh!”
At Mi Joo’s cry of pain, Si Yoon’s heart sank.
“Since when has it been like this?”
“…This morning, when I slipped in the bathroom and braced myself with my hands. It’s fine.”
“Both hands?”
“Yes.”
Mi Joo tried to pull her wrist away from Si Yoon who was touching it, but she couldn’t escape his firm grip.
“First, take off your clothes.”
As if he didn’t need her permission or answer, Si Yoon stood her up and lifted the soaked dress. The water trapped between her body and the thin fabric made a soft sound as the dress rolled upward.
