After dinner, Dae Woon and Ga Eul went out for a walk. Holding hands, the two walked silently for quite a while.

“Our Grandmother is truly an impressive person, isn’t she?”

“Yes.”

Dae Woon never imagined that Grandmother, who had looked so pitiful at the department store’s food section, would suddenly transform into a female general. That such a frail body could yell sternly at two grown men seemed impossible—yet for the sake of her grandson and granddaughter, she managed it.

Dae Woon felt envious of Ga Eul, who had grown up under such a grandmother.

Suddenly, an amusing idea struck Dae Woon: What if he introduced Ga Eul to his own grandmother? Then several problems might be resolved all at once.

His grandmother had once asked him to bring Ga Eul over. Ga Eul, too, had expressed interest in meeting her.

Although Dae Woon knew his grandmother would inevitably seek Ga Eul out somehow—since she clearly wanted to meet her—he had deliberately avoided arranging their meeting, fearing it would be far from pleasant: his grandmother, who viewed people merely as tools, and Ga Eul were simply too incompatible.

Now, Dae Woon had changed his mind. Let them meet. At the very least, he could prevent his grandmother from secretly tracking Ga Eul down behind his back. Moreover, he might create an opportunity to collect fingerprints from the entire Ki family all at once.

To compare against the fingerprints found in his late father’s car, Dae Woon needed to meet the Ki family at least once. Rather than meeting them individually to collect prints one by one, it would be far more efficient to gather them together in one place.

He would introduce Ga Eul not only to his grandmother but to the entire Ki family. That was the best way to protect her.

If he formalized his relationship with Ga Eul publicly, anyone considering harming her would surely think twice—knowing it would provoke Dae Woon’s wrath, as well as that of the rest of the Ki family.

Besides, it would be interesting to see his grandmother again after so long and observe just how different she was from Ga Eul’s grandmother.

Thus, Dae Woon casually asked Ga Eul as they walked:

“How about meeting my ‘Halmeonggu’ once? She’s quite a sight.”
