When You Forget Me (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 48
Two heavyweight men were dining together in a private room of an elegant Chinese restaurant. One was the chairman of a major conglomerate capable of wielding influence in politics; the other was a leading presidential candidate for next year’s election in South Korea.
Although their previous few meetings had eased the initial tension, various circumstances had pushed their verbal caution to the extreme. Eun Chae, caught between them, felt so stifled she thought she might choke. Having eaten in silence without uttering a word, she finally wiped her mouth with a napkin.
“We’re practically family now. It’s truly heartwarming and wonderful how we’re helping each other like this.”
At Representative Han Ji Chang’s remark, Chairman Song Myung Hwan chuckled heartily and nodded.
With only three months left until the presidential election, Representative Han Ji Chang had suffered a blow because of his son, Han Seung Yoon, but his approval ratings hadn’t plummeted to rock bottom.
He still had breathing room to restore his public image over the remaining three months. Thus, it had been decided that Deowon Group and his in-laws’ company would launch a joint project—organizing an event to deliver food and donations to a remote mountain village known for heavy snowfall.
“It would be best if one senior managing director directly oversees each region.”
“Yes, I agree entirely.”
At Chairman Song’s suggestion, Representative Han concurred and subtly raised one eyebrow. Ever since they met today, their conversation had subtly avoided any mention of Seung Yoon. Feeling awkward about initiating the topic himself, Representative Han quickly continued.
“By the way, there’s been a lot of rumors about my son’s scandal. As you know, such things are all too common right before a presidential election. Moreover, it happened before his marriage and has now been fully resolved. I’ve confirmed it myself, so you can trust me on this.”
“I understand. Besides, it’s not uncommon for a young man to have more than one lover.”
Though the response was utterly repulsive and nonsensical, Representative Han nodded contentedly, as if genuinely appreciating the empathy.
“Ah, and I must also apologize to Miss Eun Chae for this inconvenience. We’ll reschedule the wedding ceremony soon….”
“I’m sorry, but let’s consider the marriage canceled.”
Eun Chae, who had been sipping jasmine tea, firmly set her cup down on the table, cutting off Representative Han.

Xin Jiao Zhou: “???”
He fell ill.
She came to see him, bringing breakfast.
As she put down the breakfast and was about to leave, his hand slipped while holding the spoon. “Clank!”
She turned around upon hearing the noise.
He looked up at her, his eyebrows drooping: “My hand… has no strength.”
“Shall I… feed you?” she asked tentatively.
He opened his mouth cheerfully: “Ah—”
Thinking she was drowning, he jumped in without hesitation to save her, but nearly drowned himself. In the end, it was she who swam over to rescue him, giving him air underwater.
After emerging from the water, his ear tips turned red. He lightly brushed his cheek, tucking his sideburns behind his ear, revealing delicate, pink-tinged ear tips. He lowered his gaze, too embarrassed to look at her.
Xin Jiao Zhou: He’s truly beautiful, kind-hearted, and adorable.
