[Full] The Villain Found Out This is a Novel (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 38
Time may diminish the value of a dress, but it doubles the value of jewels.
In five years, they’ll be worth even more.
I felt I needed a definite answer.
“Are you really giving these to me? You won’t take them back later or anything?”
“Yes. They’re yours. Use them for our upcoming wedding, banquets, tea parties, and such.”
I almost asked if he’d still give them to me even after a divorce, but decided to hold off on that question for now.
Because if Sikar changed his mind and tried to take them back, it’d be too late. Better to quietly pocket a few beforehand, just in case.
Though the jewels all looked similar, each was unique, and I couldn’t decide which ones to wear at the wedding. After all, I’d never even attended a crowded wedding before.
Sikar had told me to choose jewels that would match my wedding dress, but all I could think about was which ones would fetch the highest price if sold.
So I’d just wear the cheaper ones and safely store the most expensive ones to sell later.
“Never mind. I’ll pick them myself—you just wear what I prepare.”
“Understood.”
“What are you doing? Not leaving yet?”
“Huh?”
“Kian will arrive soon. Let’s go down to the dining room. It’s time for dinner.”
“Oh, but didn’t you just say all these are mine?”
“That’s right. They’re yours.”
“Then shouldn’t you move them to my room? I was waiting to see them moved there before leaving.”
“It’s true I’m giving them to you, but I’ll be the one storing them.”
“Wait, doesn’t a gift lose its meaning if the receiver isn’t allowed to keep it themselves?”
“The value of these jewels is far greater than you can imagine.”
“I know that well enough.”
‘Which is exactly why I’m asking for them.’
“By now, the rumor that I bought all these jewels today in the capital has likely spread throughout all of Recador.”
‘Yeah, probably.’
“Some fool might try to break into our ducal mansion to steal them. If I leave them in your room, it wouldn’t be surprising if that fool slit your throat and walked off with the jewels.”
Hearing that sent chills down my spine. Right—this was a world overrun by night hunters.
“So it’s safest if I keep them myself.”
“Hah, but… this is House Blake, isn’t it? Even the ‘gentlemen of the night’ wouldn’t dare invade a place where they might die, would they?”
“They certainly wouldn’t break into my room, but yours is another story. If they set their minds to it, they could slip into your room unnoticed—like ghosts or mice.”
That argument left me with no choice but to agree.
“Y-yeah. I guess you’re right.”
While listening to Sikar, I felt as though I’d narrowly escaped death at the hands of those night hunters. At moments like this, his meticulous concern for my safety was rather comforting.
Even though I wasn’t actually in mortal danger, I somehow felt protected by Sikar.
When we went down to the dining room, Kian had already arrived, washed up, and changed into fresh clothes. Since this was likely his first time playing with peers his age, he must have had countless questions.
“Kian, how was your day? Did you have fun with your friends? How were your classes? Were they interesting?”
Ah, I shouldn’t be asking so many questions like this—yet, becoming a parent seemed to make it unavoidable.
Kian looked as if he was carefully reflecting on his day. Now that I thought about it, he’d seemed increasingly mature lately.
“Hmm… it was a bit overwhelming.”
“How overwhelming could it have been for you to get injured on your hand?”
At Sikar’s sharp tone, I instantly turned to look at him. Sikar hadn’t even glanced at Kian, so I had no idea where or how Kian was hurt.
“What? Where are you hurt?”
Only then did Sikar look at Kian with clear disapproval and say,
“Your wrist is injured.”
“My wrist? You hurt your wrist? How?”
I asked worriedly, but Kian just gave me an awkward smile.
“Well… I’m not sure what you mean…”
“This won’t do. I need to check it myself.”
When I rolled up Kian’s sleeve, I indeed saw scratch marks on his wrist. Embarrassed, Kian gave an uneasy laugh and pulled his sleeve back down.
“Oh, it’s nothing serious.”
Trending
“It’s definitely not ‘nothing’! What happened?!”
“Just tell us the truth, Kian.”
When Sikar narrowed his eyes, Kian sighed resignedly and set down his spoon.
“It was Lucy’s fingernails.”
“How? Why?”
“They were fighting—Luid and Lucy—and I tried to stop them. It was just an accident.”
So, things were unfolding exactly as in the original story. In the original, I’d assumed this happened because Kian was an orphan and they ignored him. But now, even knowing Kian was the duke’s son, they still scratched him—perhaps it really was just Lucy and Luid’s innate natures.
However, unlike my thoughts, Sikar seemed deeply offended.
“How dare they injure the wrist of the young master of House Blake! Tomorrow, I’ll teach House Yucanadar a lesson. I’ll tell Vika to unleash dark spirits to thoroughly punish those children.”
This man was turning a children’s squabble into an adult conflict.
Anyway, since such talk wouldn’t do Kian any good, I urged Sikar to start eating first.
“Sikar, both Kian and I must be starving. Let’s just have dinner first.”
I needed to finish dinner quickly so I could send Kian up to bed—only then could I have a proper conversation with Sikar.
We ate in silence. Though Kian was the one injured, Sikar was the one acting unusually tense.
Throughout the meal, Sikar kept muttering things like “those Yucanadar dogs…” and “those insolent Yucanadars…,” making me break out in cold sweat.
After that terrifying dinner ended, I immediately sent Kian to his room and sat down for tea with Sikar.
I understood perfectly well that Sikar wasn’t angry because Kian was hurt—he was furious because someone had dared lay a hand on the young master of House Blake.
After all, Blake itself was Sikar’s pride and honor. Right now, he believed House Yucanadar had insulted his honor.
“Sikar, it’s playing out exactly as in the original story. That’s not a bad thing.”
“Back then, they probably saw Kian as a helpless orphan, but the situation is different now. For the Yucanadar brats to look down on Kian is no different than looking down on our entire house.”
“They’re still just children. You know how troublesome those twins can be. Let them befriend him naturally. Besides, they don’t yet understand what our house truly represents.”
“Well, compared to them, Kian is far too mature.”
For a moment, I felt a warm sense of satisfaction, as if I’d just witnessed a doting father.
“It’d be best to leave the children’s matters to Raydocs. Our role is simply to play well with Kian.”
Sikar didn’t reply—just silently drank his tea. Well, silence is agreement, right? He must have understood.
Or so I thought—until Sikar completely shattered that illusion by going to confront Yucanadar the very next day.
Judging by Raydocs’s expression when he greeted us, he must have anticipated our visit.
After all, the moment he saw us, he said,
“I was prepared, but I didn’t expect you’d come charging over at sunrise.”
He must have known Sikar’s temperament well enough to foresee this.
“I would’ve come last night, but my wife stopped me—barely held back.”
“Well, thank you for making the trip. You probably skipped breakfast—shall we eat first?”
“No. Let’s shake hands first.”
Raydocs really should have refused that handshake. Only a fool like Raydocs would clasp hands with a Sitar clan member whose face looked ready to burst a blood vessel.
The instant Raydocs accepted Sikar’s handshake, Sikar subtly twisted his wrist.
“Did you know your twins scratched our Kian’s hand yesterday?”
Raydocs twisted his wrist the opposite way to resist, but no matter how strong he was, he couldn’t match the near-troll-level strength of the Sitar clan.
“It wasn’t intentional. We’ve already apologized sufficiently to Kian.”
“Does an apology heal wounds? How are you even raising your children?”
“Ordinary children naturally grow this way.”
Sikar gritted his teeth slightly and twisted Raydocs’s wrist again.
“Don’t you think you’re raising them wrong?”
Raydocs twisted his wrist back once more.
“My parenting has no flaws.”
“Your children seem awfully short-tempered—perhaps they should see a therapist?”
“Children naturally cry, throw tantrums, and grow up that way.”
“As I’ve said repeatedly—our Kian doesn’t do that.”
“Comparing an exceptional case to a normal one and claiming normality is abnormal is a flawed perspective.”
“So you’re saying you’ll just let them fight like roosters every day?”
“Don’t you know that children naturally learn through fighting?”

‘Ugh. At this rate, this’ll never end.’
I felt I had to intervene. Since I couldn’t reach Raydocs, I stepped between them and tugged at Sikar’s hand.
“Stop it, Sikar.”
Only then did Sikar reluctantly let go.
“Sikar, we shouldn’t get involved in this.”
“Did you hear that? Even the Duchess says we shouldn’t interfere.”
“My wife is kind-hearted. Don’t use her gentleness as an excuse to justify your children’s reckless, childish behavior.”
“You, Duke, should first acknowledge that all children are reckless and troublesome.”
I stretched my arms out wide, pushing the two men farther apart.
“Hold on! Didn’t I tell you both to stop? If you keep this up, the children’s fight really will turn into an adult feud. So just stop. And Sikar—we already entrusted Kian to the Marquis, so we should trust him and let it go.”
“You can only entrust something if you actually trust.”
“Then take him back yourself.”
“What an irresponsible thing to say.”
“Lord Raydocs, excuse us for a moment. Could you give us some privacy to talk?”
Raydocs left the parlor without a word. I stepped in front of Sikar, who had been glaring holes into Raydocs’s back, and spoke firmly.
“You’re acting like a ridiculously overprotective parent right now.”
“I prioritize my house above all.”
“Instead of this, why don’t we directly ask the children to get along with Kian or find another approach? It doesn’t seem like talking to the Marquis will help.”
“That’s just because you don’t understand the situation.”
“What do you mean I don’t understand…?”
“That brat Luid said he dislikes children from House Blake.”
“What…?”
But after a moment’s thought, Sikar’s words didn’t seem strange at all. Considering all House Blake had done to House Yucanadar over the years, it was only natural Luid would resent the duke’s son.
In fact, if he’d warmed up to him instantly, that would’ve been far more surprising.
Then, a good idea struck me.
“Then why don’t we directly invite the children and ask them to treat Kian well?”
“How ‘directly’?”
“The training room. I heard you recently called Germy to add more devices. Why not ask him again to turn it into a fun play area for the children? Then invite them over and reshape their impression of our ducal mansion—show them it’s a place brimming with childlike wonder.”
“You want to turn the training room into a children’s playground?”
“If it helps them get along, that’s a good thing.”
“They’ll still fight. It’d be better to teach Kian to hit first instead of just getting beaten.”
“What? That’s not how you raise kids.”
Sikar seemed to actually consider my words for a moment, then smiled with satisfaction.
“Now that I think about it, that might actually work. I’ll invite the children right away.”
Seeing him agree so readily actually made me uneasy—it felt like he had some ulterior motive.
And sure enough, that unease soon became reality.

Honestly? Good job Sikar. The twins (especially Luid) and brats and should stop fighting all the time. Their dad isn’t doing get there. And I’m not a fan of the “gentle parenting” when the kids are absolute terrors that need a more firm hand.
I wonder if Sikar is starting to get slightly jealous of Kian and his interactions with Yura?
Sikar doesn’t know how to handle his jealousy so he just delivers death threats…
