The Only Healer, Ruela (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 7
“Do you have somewhere to go?”
The woman’s eyes narrowed in suspicion.
“Why would you ask something like that?”
Kite struggled to speak in the gentlest voice he could manage, facing her heavily guarded question.
“I want to help. It’s far too dangerous to be alone at night without even an attendant.”
“You lowering your voice like that makes you seem even more dangerous.”
“Pfft!”
A chuckle came from somewhere nearby.
“What was that sound?”
Kite asked, trying hard to ignore the presence of his companion Hazen, who was hiding behind him and giggling.
“When did I ever lower my voice, huh? Ahem!”
“Just now.”
“I’m only asking because I want to help—you’re being too harsh.”
“Too harsh? That’s rich coming from someone who did something strange right at our first meeting.”
“Strange?”
Ruela raised her hand and subtly moved one finger.
“Like this.”
Kite hesitated briefly at her gesture, which perfectly mimicked his earlier action.
He had strongly denied to his friend that it was any kind of flirtation, but he couldn’t deny it was embarrassing.
Still, he truly had no ulterior motive toward her—he simply needed her abilities. Thus, she was clearly misunderstanding the situation entirely.
“To belittle someone’s goodwill like that…”
“Was that goodwill?”
Seeing her move her finger again, Kite threw up both hands.
“If I seem that suspicious, do as you please. I won’t make any further suggestions.”
“Are you sulking?”
“What? Sul… No!”
Kite snapped instantly, having received an utterly unreasonable misunderstanding.
“Alright, fine. Calm down and just answer me. You said no one would help me because I declared hostile actions—so why are you offering to help?”
The man spoke arrogantly.
“Because I’m the only one here who can stand against Balder’s guild.”
“Are you wealthy?”
“Being wealthy doesn’t mean you can oppose Balder’s guild.”
“Judging by your appearance at yesterday’s party, you certainly have money… but apparently not enough to be called truly rich. So, are you from a family more powerful than Balder’s?”
Kite immediately answered, recalling his status here.
“Impossible. Balder is the son of King Kuran—the next in line for the throne. How could I possibly hold more power than him?”
Balder was royalty? That was the final straw. Ruela frowned at his blunt, almost annoyingly direct reply.
“Then exactly how do you plan to help me?”
She glared at him with an irritated expression, and the man leaned in slightly as if about to reveal something important.
“I’m going to form a guild.”
Ruela, suddenly aware of his breath tickling her ear, couldn’t hide her disappointment and cried out,
“Is that all?”
“What do you mean ‘all’?!”
The man, who had just burst out in anger, cleared his throat awkwardly and began explaining again.
“In this country, people are too afraid of falling out of Balder’s favor to even consider forming a guild.”
“Then are there no other guilds here besides Balder’s? Isn’t guild formation supposed to be a personal freedom?”
“There are some, but forming a guild isn’t actually free—you need prior approval. Even if you manage to create one, it often ends up under Balder’s control anyway. It means the Kuran royal family monopolizes all rights and profits.”
“So corruption is just everyday life here?”
The man crossed his arms over his chest and nodded.
“Exactly. Therefore, forming a guild with no ties to them here is essentially the same as declaring opposition to the Kuran royal family and Balder’s guild. So, if not us, who else would accept Ruela Romnin?”
Though skeptical, if his words held no falsehood, his conclusion was correct. In the game, not joining a guild brought various disadvantages. If this world mirrored the game, the situation would be the same.

Ruela crossed her arms just like the man and asked haughtily,
“So, what do you want from me? You don’t seem like the type who’d help out of pure justice.”
“The condition for joining our guild is swearing to use your abilities for our guild.”
“My abilities?”
Ruela clutched the jingling coins in her cloak pocket and stepped back.
“I don’t have money.”
“Didn’t you just say you did?”
“That’s only enough to buy bread—it’s all I own. Targeting that would be awfully heartless, don’t you think?”
At her protest, the corner of the man’s mouth lifted.
“Don’t worry—there’s no membership fee. I asked you to dedicate your abilities, not to hand over money.”
“So it still comes down to money. I thought you meant ‘since you have no abilities, just give us money’.”
The man tilted his head, clearly bewildered by her words.
“No abilities?”
“She probably doesn’t even know what her own abilities are yet.”
Suddenly, a boy popped out from behind them and spoke.
Golden curls like Cupid’s, warm brown eyes reminiscent of sweet milk chocolate—could he be only sixteen or seventeen? His cute yet handsome appearance left her momentarily speechless.
“Who are you?”
She wasn’t too surprised—she’d already guessed the man had companions from the earlier laughter and shifting shadows.
“Are you part of the same guild as him?”
When she shot him a suspicious look, another man who appeared alongside the boy answered.
“You could say that.”
This man was strikingly handsome as well. With light green eyes evoking fresh spring shoots, he swept his long golden hair back and spoke gently.
“Since we’ll be guildmates, shall we introduce ourselves? I’m Sub-Guildmaster Hazen, the dark fellow in front of you is Guildmaster Kite, and this little one is my cousin Tien.”
“You suddenly stating your names like that is a bit startling. I haven’t even agreed to join yet.”
At her remark, the so-called guildmaster’s expression hardened.
“You’re refusing to join?”
“Yes.”
These people, who had abruptly appeared and feigned concern while pushing guild membership, seemed highly suspicious. According to Kite, she’d been declared hostile by Balder’s guild—the very organization monopolizing power in this country.
Even if they genuinely opposed Balder, there was no reason for them to drag her into greater danger.
Thus, their goodwill was certainly questionable. Even if there seemed no better option at the moment, she couldn’t make a hasty decision.
Above all, she’d only realized less than a day ago that she’d entered the body of a woman named Ruela Romnin. With no knowledge of herself or this world, she couldn’t blindly accept their offer.
There’s no such thing as kindness without a price.
Excessively kind or friendly people were likely scheming or con artists—caution was necessary.
“Will you think it over?”
“No, thank you.”
“You’ll regret it.”
His warning sharpened her tone.
“Are you threatening me right now?”
“I’m making a proposal.”
He answered flatly, yet an odd sense of anxiety seeped through his words.
Ruela quietly glanced behind her—suddenly worried about her safety.
It was pitch black. Only now did she realize she was alone on this deserted night street with strangers.
“Your answer?”
His pressing tone felt threatening.
Ruela decided to feign compromise for now. She could deliberate and decide properly once she was away from them.
“Fine. Give me some time to think.”
The guildmaster’s brow furrowed, evidently displeased with her answer. But without another word, he scribbled something on a piece of paper and handed it to her.
“This is our guild’s hideout. Come find us if you decide to join.”
The note bore only a single address.
After handing her the paper, the guildmaster tipped his hat elegantly in farewell.

Seeing his face, subtly accompanied by a playful wink, reminded her of that very first moment when his presence had captured her attention.
That brief instant when she’d been utterly spellbound.
But there was no time to dwell on it—he immediately left with his companions.
‘I thought he’d cling on longer… or maybe even threaten me.’
Judging by his actions, he didn’t seem like a bad person.
Ruela couldn’t help but pout as she watched them leave without hesitation.
“Seriously? You pressured me earlier, and now you just walk away? Maybe I’d have changed my mind if you’d asked once more.”
Though she’d been the one to refuse, she felt a pang of regret—likely brought on by the loneliness of being alone.
Perhaps it was just her mood, but the midnight silence felt heavier than ever.
“No. Since I don’t know what kind of place it is, refusing their offer is the right choice.”
To shake off her unease, she looked down at the paper the man had written.
33 Lineon Street, Perose Mansion, Moel.
Moel was the capital of the Kuran Kingdom.
Having played the game before, she instantly visualized the location in her mind without needing a map.
It was already midnight.
The dark, quiet square stirred fear within her. She urgently needed a place to spend the night, yet doubted any inn nearby would take her in.
〈I won’t even be able to buy a loaf of bread or get a sip of water.〉
Then perhaps it’d be better to leave this place quickly? Since it was where she’d lived, many here would recognize her.
She looked again at the paper in her hand.
Her current location was a territory directly adjacent to the capital. In the game, it was only a few dozen minutes’ run away—but in reality, she had no idea how long it would take.
Still, since this place wasn’t friendly toward her, it seemed wiser to head straight for the populous capital—regardless of whether she joined the guild the man recommended.
As the heart of a nation, the capital naturally drew crowds. With caution, she should be able to find lodging without drawing the attention of Balder’s guild members.
Having made her decision, Ruela immediately set off toward the capital.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
