The Maid Hates Childcare (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 6
Thud-thud-thud. Thud-thud-thud-thud.
Chirp. Chirp-chirp—
The peaceful forest echoed with the sounds of morning birds singing and wheels rolling along.
I had no idea what I was even thinking anymore—my heart was burning up in anxiety.
‘Everyone looks so happy.’
Except me.
The cheerful chirping of the birds felt unbearably irritating.
Even as I walked, I kept sneaking glances at Kashar.
‘He didn’t come here to kill Louis and Evan, did he?’
That couldn’t possibly be it.
After all, there was no connection between them yet.
‘Still… just in case.’
You never really know what people might do.
We quickly arrived in front of the kitchen door. It stood wide open.
Just then, Kashar, who had been silently following behind me, finally spoke.
“But… what exactly hit me on the head?”
My eyes instinctively shifted toward the wall beside the kitchen door.
There, neatly displayed, were unused earthenware pots.
“Th-that… that thing over there.”
I carefully pointed toward one of the pots.
His gaze naturally followed my fingertip before landing on the pot itself.
“…A bowl?”
Yes. The earthenware pot was a K-bowl recognized even by people from other worlds.
Watching his expression shift moment by moment, I had another thought.
‘If only I could just smash it over his head once more…’
Maybe then everything would be fine.
But the miracle of him willingly taking another hit from the pot was not going to happen.
‘What should I do?’
It was the hour when the children should still be fast asleep.
My heart felt like it was burning up with anxiety.
“If you’re thinking of buying time, you’d better give it up.”
Along with this warning against my distracted thoughts—
“Hmm? Aileen?”
Just then, a youthful voice caught our attention.
“Lord Louis?! And Lord Evan too…?”
The children I’d assumed were still sleeping now stood across the kitchen in their nightclothes.
Louis, still rubbing his sleepy eyes, tilted his head in confusion as he noticed Kashar behind me.
Evan, also wary of the unfamiliar man, quickly pulled Louis closer toward himself.
‘This is a total disaster.’
The three people I absolutely shouldn’t be meeting together were now in the same place.
‘Who could’ve predicted this would happen?’
Just as I let out a sigh, Louis came trotting over.
“Mister, who are you?”
Each time his innocent eyes blinked, my heart sank deeper.
‘Please be quiet, Your Highness!’
I pleaded inwardly, but of course Louis couldn’t hear me.
Kashar just stood there, seemingly too baffled by the situation to say a word.
After a brief moment of deep thought, Louis suddenly clapped his hands together.
“Oh! I get it! You’re Aileen’s boyfriend!”
“…Huh?”
Trending
That was a completely off-the-mark guess.
Before I could even deny it, Louis had already reached his conclusion.
The boy stepped confidently out from behind me and stood boldly in front of Kashar.
“Aileen belongs to us!”
He struck an impressively defiant pose.
Kashar’s brow furrowed, one eyebrow arching sharply upward.
His face screamed, “I wouldn’t take it even if you gave it to me,” and looked ready to explode at any second. My own face instantly turned pale.
“Lord Louis, wait just a moment—that’s not what’s going on at all…”
I forced an awkward smile as I tried to stop him.
But the boy seemed thoroughly convinced of his own mistaken interpretation.
“Gasp! Could it be… you’re the villain who came to harass us? We won’t let any villain get away with that!”
“Lord Louis!”
Louis had already picked up an earthenware pot as a weapon.
Kashar’s eyes darkened ominously as he recognized the very same pot that had already struck him once.
‘This could turn into a real disaster.’
No one would care if a couple of abandoned princes died.
If Kashar so desired, he could easily kill everyone and erase all evidence of the incident.
Since things had already gone this far, I decided to pin my hopes on pretending to be insane.
“Yes! He’s my boyfriend!”
“What?”
Kashar, who had remained silent until now, finally responded.
He looked utterly exasperated, but since I’d already resolved to play the part of a lunatic, I had nothing to lose.
I looped my arm through Kashar’s and pressed myself tightly against him.
“Darling, please relax your expression. Their Highnesses are getting the wrong idea.”
“…”
“Honestly, why did you have to come right now? How embarrassing.”
Heh-heh-heh. My forced laughter echoed through the kitchen.
Among my many part-time jobs, I’d worked as a wedding extra and in minor acting roles.
Now was the time to put all that shallow acting experience to good use.
“He’s really Aileen’s boyfriend?”
“Of course! So, Lord Louis, please put that pot down right away.”
“Really? For real?”
“I just told you, didn’t I?”
So please, for the love of everything, put the pot down.
Each time Louis moved the pot, I could see Kashar’s expression shifting by the second. Louis, seemingly unafraid, stared wide-eyed right back at Kashar.
I just wanted to die on the spot.
Just as this suffocating standoff continued—
“Louis, give that to me.”
“No! I have to protect Aileen!”
Evan, who had been silently watching from behind, snatched the pot from Louis and tossed it far away.
Louis instantly pouted, but inwardly I cheered in relief.
‘Nice one, Lord Evan!’
I wanted to scoop him up right then and there and kiss his soft cheeks—of course, Evan would probably find that utterly horrifying.
At this point, I cautiously glanced back at Kashar.
Was it because he’d just been hit on the head, or had he finally grasped the situation?
Seeing him stand there silently while I pretended to be his lover gave me a flicker of hope.
‘Could he actually be unexpectedly gentle?’
Though he’d been portrayed as cruel in the novel, maybe that wasn’t the whole truth.
After all, Evan and Louis had also been kind-hearted at this point.
Holding onto this vague hope, I subtly tried nudging him toward the exit.

“We should probably call it a day for now, and maybe next time—”
“You’re planning to send me away looking like this?”
He growled fiercely, having clearly seen through my intentions.
“N-not at all! I meant you should come in with me! I was just about to prepare breakfast!”
As if I hadn’t just been trying to push him toward the door, I quickly guided him toward the dining room.
‘I have to stay alive, just a little longer.’
My first priority was to separate Kashar from the children.
While nudging him forward, I gave the kids a meaningful look.
“You woke up unusually early today. Please go back inside and get some more rest, Your Highnesses!”
“No way! I’m going to inspect him myself!”
Louis let out a thunderous shout and stuck close to my side.
He glared fiercely at Kashar.
‘What is he talking about now?!’
Maybe Evan would step in and stop him again.
But this time, Evan silently followed behind Louis, walking right beside me.
‘Why aren’t you stopping him this time?!’
I cried out inwardly, though of course no one could hear me.
We all moved together into the dining room.
Watching the twins and Kashar seated together, the absurdity of the situation was almost comical.
“Ha… hahaha.”
My strained laughter echoed through the quiet dining room.
Sometimes, when a person is utterly flabbergasted, they just become docile.
That was exactly Kashar’s state right now.
“Oh my, what’s going on…? Are you a guest?”
Emma, drawn by the commotion, peeked out and gaped at Kashar like a startled rabbit.
“Emma, I need to prepare breakfast, so could you please attend to our guest?”
“Huh? Y-yes…!”
Just before leaving the dining room, I whispered softly to Emma.
“Whatever you do, don’t leave Their Highnesses and Lord Kashar alone together. I’ll be back very soon, so stay with them. If anything happens—”
“Since I can hear everything, try to whisper a bit more quietly.”
Even my hushed words hadn’t escaped the beast-like ears of that man.
“Oh, it’s not like that at all.”
I turned back with an awkward smile, and he gave me a crooked grin.
“I wouldn’t kill a child with a clear head.”
“O-of course! You’re such a kind-hearted person!”
“Kind-hearted? That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that nonsense…”
“Oh, come on—it was just a joke!”
When I playfully swatted at the air, one of Kashar’s eyebrows arched upward.
As I subtly hid both hands behind my back, he smirked. It was the devastatingly handsome smile of a born killer.
“You’d better prepare breakfast quickly. I’m curious just how amazing it’ll be.”
So it really was my death day after all.
While I stood frozen stiff, Emma bravely stepped forward.
“Your Grace, allow me to assist you.”
Good job, Emma!
“Then I’ll go prepare it right away!”
I hurried back into the kitchen.
‘Now what am I going to do?’
The kitchen counter was filled with ingredients.
Even rushing wouldn’t be enough—I could only let out a hollow laugh.
‘Who would’ve thought I’d die before the kids even become the masterminds behind everything!’

Kashar wasn’t waiting for the breakfast I’d prepare; he was waiting for an explanation about this whole situation.
‘Which means…’
If I didn’t come up with a solid excuse, I was as good as dead.
‘But what could I possibly say?’
My previous “explanation” had already been my best shot.
The only sympathetic angle I had was the pitiful image of forgotten princes living in a dilapidated palace, overlooked by everyone…
‘But my life isn’t part of that story.’
A bad ending before the original plot had even begun.
What a magnificent finale.
‘What will happen to our princes if I die!’
I clenched both fists tightly.
‘As long as I live, the princes will grow up properly.’
No matter what anyone said, I was their protector.
‘A mother is strong.’
Holding onto that single conviction, I picked up a kitchen knife.
‘I need to prepare something so delicious it’ll make their eyes pop open.’
People’s moods always softened after eating something tasty.
‘Even if he’s a monster, he’s still human on the outside, after all.’
I let out a sigh as I looked over the ingredients.
Of all things, what I’d brought from last night’s dream was…
‘dried pollock.’
The kids loved Korean food, and I’d wanted some refreshing soup—so I’d brought this.
On the stove, a rich broth was already simmering.
I stared at the pale yellow dried fish with a dazed expression.
‘I’ll just give it a try.’
My hangover soup was so good that even the owner of a Korean pub had praised it.
Holding onto that one proud memory, I picked up a mallet.
“That’s right! It would’ve been perfect if you’d just lost your memory! Why are you sneaking around other people’s houses, causing chaos!”
Whack! Thud! Whack-whack-whack-whack! Whack! Whack! Whack!
I furiously pounded the dried pollock with the mallet.
Of course, what I was doing right now wasn’t violence—it was unquestionably a legitimate step in cooking.
‘Now I understand why people pound dried pollock after marital fights.’
A brief burst of physical labor raised my body temperature.
Taking the softened pollock, I began cooking.
‘I brought soy sauce and sesame oil beforehand, so I’ll finely chop fresh garlic and add that in.’
Thanks to my frequent visits in dreams, the kitchen was well-stocked with seasonings.
‘It’s not a complicated dish, so it’ll be ready soon.’
As I stir-fried the pollock with radish and minced garlic in sesame oil, a delicious aroma filled the kitchen.
I poured in the broth, added bean sprouts I’d grown myself, and seasoned it—that was it.
“It’s done!”
Moments later, the tray held freshly cooked rice, pollock soup, and several side dishes—one serving for each person.
Steam rose invitingly from the hot soup, making my mouth water.
‘To make it even warmer…’
I transferred Kashar’s portion into an earthenware pot and reheated it separately.
I couldn’t help feeling nervous.
Swallowing hard, I carried the tray back to the dining room.
There, the princes and Kashar were chatting animatedly.
‘Did nothing happen after all?’
The atmosphere seemed surprisingly pleasant, which eased my worries.
I silently asked Emma, standing behind them, if everything was alright.
Trending
‘No problems, right?’
‘Oh, there were plenty.’
As pale-faced Emma slowly shook her head, a guileless voice rang out.
“But, but—why does your head look like that, mister?”
It was Louis.
The moment I clamped my hand over my mouth to stifle a scream, my eyes met Kashar’s.
“Oh, this?”
He slowly smoothed his disheveled hair as he answered.
“Someone knocked me out and tried to ditch me.”
His languid smile tightened around my throat like a noose.
But Louis’s mischief wasn’t over yet.
“Gasp! Were you dumped by Aileen?”
Louis’s wide, shimmering eyes were so adorably heart-wrenching he looked about to cry.
“…Dumped.”
He let out a hollow laugh, clearly bewildered at having acquired a boyfriend out of nowhere—and now being dumped on top of it.
“I guess if this counts as being dumped, then I was dumped.”
Technically, he hadn’t been dumped—he’d been whacked.
His eyes, fixed on me, seemed to say exactly that.
“W-when did I ever say that, darling?”
“You were about to abandon me yourself, weren’t you?”
“Oh! So you were just about to get dumped!”
Louis clapped his hands together, satisfied with his “understanding.”
The utterly chaotic flow of conversation was making me lose my mind.

The premise seemed interesting enough but unfortunately the way it’s written is very poor. Idk if it’s the way the writer writes or a translation error but it’s just not smooth. Something about the writing feels disjointed
