The Mad Commander is Obsessive (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 2
Delia hid herself among the deep green foliage of Iorenti, peering through her telescope toward the Alden Plateau.
Stretching endlessly in the telescope’s view was the Imperial Soldiers’ procession.
Imperial banners fluttered in the wind at every turn.
Imperial scum.
Daring to lay a hand on our Kingdom of Iorenti.
Delia gritted her teeth, tracking the Imperial column through her telescope.
Beside her, Captain Jer watched with a worried expression.
“Captain. Are you really going to carry out that operation?”
“We have to.”
Delia chewed her lip nervously but never took her eyes off the telescope.
“Thirty of our sharpshooters died trying to attack him. They were clearly out of range—yet bullets struck them dead where they thought they’d be safe.”
Delia lowered the telescope and locked her emerald eyes directly onto Jer.
Though she hadn’t slept or eaten properly and had grown thin, her gaze remained unwaveringly resolute.
“The Imperial weapons surpassed our predictions. Do you understand what that means?”
“That’s exactly why you’ll be in even greater danger.”
Captain Jer looked anxiously at his sovereign.
Princess Delia of Iorenti’s golden hair, inherited from the late king, fluttered in the wind.
“We must learn precisely how the enemy weapon works if we wish to defend ourselves. It’s something we must do—even if it’s dangerous.”
Delia, steeling her resolve, lifted the telescope again to watch the Imperial Soldiers crossing the plateau.
At the very front of the Imperial column stood a figure presumed to be their commander.
He wore a black felt hat adorned with a red feather—symbol of a commander—and a uniform embroidered with golden thread.
Even from afar, he was unmistakably conspicuous.
“If only I could drive a blade straight into that bastard’s heart…”
Delia, biting her lip to steady her nerves, lowered the telescope and scanned her surroundings.
Her gaze fell upon her Royal Guards watching her.
After more than ten days without proper food or washing, they no longer resembled their usual tidy selves.
They looked like ragged bandits—yet their eyes, awaiting her command, shone with unwavering determination.
“We’ll split into two squads: the decoy team and the retrieval team. The decoy team follows me to draw the Imperial Soldiers’ attention while the retrieval team, led by Jer, secures their weapon crates.”
“Yes, Captain.”
The Royal Guards placed a hand over their chests and bowed their heads.
“Before launching the attack, reconfirm your escape routes. After completing the mission, rendezvous at the designated spot.”
Delia looked at each of them with eyes sharp as winter ice.
Though few in number, they were Iorenti’s elite Royal Guard.
They would surely succeed at this mission.
Even if it meant accepting death.
That very thought made Delia’s heart ache even more.
“And avoid direct confrontation with the Imperial sharpshooters—especially the commander. Retreat immediately.”
Delia issued her final order with heartfelt earnestness.
“Everyone… let’s meet again alive.”
Grand Duke Aaron of the Stilietz Empire stared straight ahead with a stern expression.
The lush green expanse of the Alden Plateau stretched out before him.
Aaron’s sharp steel-gray eyes meticulously scanned his surroundings.
“Just try sneaking up on us. I’ll kill you myself.”
“If you get caught, then you’ll either be killed or not.”
“It’s too quiet. What’s their scheme this time?”
“They’re probably waiting for an opening to attack us.”
Aaron irritably adjusted his military cap with one hand.
The feather decoration on his cap quivered slightly at his touch.
The gold buttons on his cuff caught the light and gleamed sharply.
“Damn Mount Tarence.”
Trending
The southern three kingdoms had already fallen—the Kingdom of Iorenti was the last.
Supreme Commander Aaron resolved to finish off Iorenti quickly.
While drawing attention at the border with a large, conspicuous army, Aaron planned to lead ten thousand elite troops in a surprise assault on Iorenti’s royal palace.
That was precisely why Aaron had pushed so hard through the treacherous Mount Tarence.
But the moment he entered Mount Tarence, Aaron’s plan collapsed in utter disarray.
“I’m suffering through this hell just to end things quickly—and now we’ve got guerrillas hiding here.”
The instant they entered Mount Tarence of Iorenti,
the Stilietz Imperial Soldiers were met with a guerrilla ambush.
They struck from unexpected places at unpredictable times.
One couldn’t blink without risking their life—arrows and bullets could come flying at any moment.
“We didn’t anticipate hidden ambushers in Mount Tarence. If only you hadn’t stubbornly insisted on this despite everyone’s warnings.”
“Colin!”
At Aaron’s irritable call, Colin swiftly changed the subject.
“These men seem familiar with the terrain. Could they be militia?”
Too tired to be angry, Aaron sighed deeply and answered Colin’s question.
“They’re too well-organized to be simple militia. Their hit-and-run tactics are precise.”
“True—even seasoned officers struggle to judge the exact moment to retreat.”
“They’re as well-trained as elite soldiers…”
“And they know the terrain perfectly—like bandits who live in Mount Tarence.”
Just who were these people?
Hidden in every nook of the mountain, they attacked without ever revealing their full identity.
Even estimating their total numbers was impossible.
Amidst all this uncertainty, one thing was clear…
“Black Mask. She’s their leader. We must capture her.”
She darted freely through the mountains, mocking the Imperial Soldiers.
A cunning foe who knew exactly how to use the mountain’s terrain.
She’d suddenly burst forth with a barrage of attacks.
By the time they regained their senses to pursue her, she’d vanished without a trace.
She danced teasingly before Aaron’s eyes—always just within reach, yet impossible to catch.
Her presence haunted his heightened senses, refusing to leave his thoughts.
The more he closed his eyes, the clearer she became—tormenting him.
“Once Iorenti is occupied, the first order I’ll issue is a bounty on her. I’ll finish her myself.”
“At this speed, will a bounty even help? Besides, we don’t know her face or identity.”
“Counselor Colin Dresser.”
At the sudden, sharp sound of his full name, Colin straightened instantly.
“Yes, Commander.”
He must’ve gone too far.
A cold chill ran down Colin’s spine.
“You must be so tired of life you’re ready to die.”
“No, sir.”
“You should’ve groveled and pledged, ‘I’ll deliver her to you personally!’—yet you dare spew such nonsense. You clearly wish for death.”
“No, Commander. I wish to live a long life.”
“Then prove your will to live to me.”
“How…”
“Don’t utter a single word until I give you another order.”
“But…”
Colin opened his mouth to defend himself but immediately stopped.
Seeing the Commander’s hand move toward his gun grip, his mouth shut on its own.
“Yes, Commander. I’ll obey your order.”
The Commander has become unbearably sensitive.

Colin rubbed his nose lightly while swallowing the bitter taste lingering in his mouth.
After all, he himself had been worn down by relentless ambushes day and night for over ten days—his words were slipping before his thoughts.
Everyone here was far from sane.
The silence Colin’s restraint brought was shattered by a messenger’s distant call.
“Commander! Commander!”
At the urgent voice, Aaron’s eyes narrowed sharply.
An ill omen.
“What is it?”
The messenger hurried close, panting as he reported.
“The rear of our column has been attacked.”
“What?”
At this completely unexpected report, Aaron’s elegant brow twisted into a fierce scowl.
Uncontrollable rage made his heart pound violently.
It was the very path they had just chatted along moments ago.
The enemy must have hidden silently, watching Aaron, waiting until the tail of the column arrived.
There was no greater insult.
Daring to toy with me?
Aaron growled low and bitterly, then roughly wheeled his horse around.
“Cavalry, follow me—pursue those bastards.”
Before his men could respond, Aaron spurred his horse forward and charged.
Aaron galloped back along the Imperial column.
The thunderous hoofbeats of the vanguard following their commander shook the ground.
As they neared the tail of the column, the clash of steel rang out.
By the time they arrived, the bodies of ambushed Imperial Soldiers filled the narrow mountain path.
The audacious guerrillas leapt over the corpses, pressing their attacks without pause.
“I won’t let these vermin get away with this.”
Aaron drew his gun from the red baldric and pulled the trigger.
Bang.
Amid thick gunpowder smoke, the gunshot pierced through the sharp cacophony of clashing steel.
One attacker, about to stab an Imperial Soldier, fell dead from the bullet.
In that split second, the attackers’ momentum faltered.
“Retreat!”
“Fall back!”
The guerrillas stepped backward, turned their horses, and began to flee.
And as always—
Black Mask guarded their rear, turning her horse last of all.
Her cloak fluttered with her hurried motion.
Again, she was vanishing like a phantom.
He absolutely could not let her slip away.
Aaron’s steel-gray eyes gleamed fiercely as they chased her retreating figure.
“Pursue her immediately.”
“Yes, sir.”
Aaron gripped the reins tightly and spurred his horse to chase Black Mask.
The vanguard that had followed Aaron, along with the attacked rearguard, gave chase.
The Imperial Soldiers charged backward.
The army, which had been advancing toward Iorenti’s royal palace, was now retreating contrary to all logic.
No one found it strange.
Rather, no one had the time to consider such things.
All they saw were the enemies’ retreating backs.
Their entire focus was on tracking and annihilating the foes before them.

The thunderous clash of hooves, chasing and chased, shook the mountain.
Wild beasts fled in alarm as the charging horses trampled their paths.
The faster the horses galloped, the quicker the trees blurred past in reverse.
Some of the pursuing vanguard halted and fired their guns—but only the ground and trees took the bullets.
Aaron urged his horse to greater speed.
The cavalry behind him accelerated as well, racing to keep up with their commander.
When the Imperial Soldiers closed in, the guerrillas following Black Mask scattered in all directions.
But Aaron had only one target.
“Black Mask is their leader. Chase only her.”
As the Imperial encirclement tightened, the fugitive’s escape routes narrowed.
Finally, the horse bearing the elusive Black Mask halted abruptly at the edge of a cliff.
A stone kicked up by the horse’s hoof tumbled endlessly down into the abyss below.
Only when he’d driven the enemy to the cliff’s edge did Aaron halt his pursuit.
He’d finally caught her.
A triumphant smile spread across Aaron’s lips as he exhaled a rough breath.
“Pleasure to meet you, Black Mask.”

Male lead is reincarnated to save his wife
I’ve also read this one twice already. The female lead is kinda soft and gets embarrassed easily—not really my type, but the plot is definitely worth reading. Hurry up and read it, y’all!

Intro
When Shen Yuan encountered Su Jin again in his previous life, she had already become the Prime Minister of the current dynasty. As for him, the former top young master of the capital, he had long since fallen into the abyss, becoming a singer on a pleasure boat.
After a song ended, he was redeemed and sent to the Su Residence.
Su Jin respected and cherished him, gave him a roof over his head, and bestowed him with warmth. Shen Yuan fell deeper and deeper, but before he could express his feelings, Su Jin passed away.
Shen Yuan died to follow her in death, but instead, he returned to when he was fifteen years old.
At that time, he was not yet engaged, and Su Jin was just a poor scholar.
Shen Yuan gritted his teeth, casting aside all his pride, and thought of ways to coax and entice her every day.
The colder and more indifferent Su Jin was towards him, the more proactive Shen Yuan became.
He was not afraid of being mocked by the world, only wanting to marry his Wife-master early, to hold her hand and never let go for a lifetime.
[Note: This story will not specifically point out the male lead’s reincarnation time point; it’s all in the details. Whenever you feel that the male lead is acting strangely, he has most likely been reincarnated.]

A very toxic flower, particularly if you eat it. I had a feeling she was going to do that.

Wow the tension between these two is something else.
Good job Del! Looks like in the end she has won the wager.
If the fate of the crown prince is unknown, why would they send away the only other heir?
