The Mad Commander is Obsessive (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 1
It was late afternoon when Delia, who had been languidly asleep, opened her eyes.
Slowly lifting her heavy eyelids revealed irises as blue as glass beads.
Fragmented, dreamlike rays of sunlight seeped into her blurred, unfocused vision.
‘Is this a dream?’
Her mind felt melted—completely void of thought.
Every sense seemed beyond her control, as if her body no longer belonged to her.
‘I feel like I had an incredible dream.’
Drowsy, Delia weakly closed her eyes again.
As her eyes shut, her other senses began to reawaken.
The rough texture of a blanket spread across her entire body.
The faint scent of earth and gunpowder, along with damp, humid air, drifted in with each breath.
It was clearly not her usual room.
‘Then where am I?’
Delia laboriously opened her eyes once more and slowly scanned her surroundings.
Her long lashes trembled as her eyelids fluttered incessantly.
Gradually, the scenery around her came into clearer view.
On a sunlit table lay overturned dishes and scattered berries.
A white shirt lay crumpled on the floor.
The shirt touched the bed on which she was lying.
She lay helplessly sprawled across a coarse field cot.
And behind her, a warm presence radiated.
The realization struck Delia, and her eyes flew wide open.
Gasp.
Delia hastily drew in a sharp breath.
The fog clouding her mind instantly lifted, bringing everything back into sharp clarity.
You’ve gone mad.
What on earth have you done?
An overwhelming wave of regret crashed over Delia.
If only he hadn’t tempted her with that misty, coaxing voice.
If only she hadn’t flared up at his taunts about betrayal and such.
Back from dream to harsh reality, Delia bit down fiercely on her lip to keep from screaming.
Though she barely stifled the sound, unfamiliar aches freshly etched into her body assaulted her even more intensely.
“Awake?”
Delia flinched at the low voice from behind and tensed her body.
“No. I’m still sleeping.”
“You seem awake.”
“I told you, I’m still asleep.”
Her reply seemed amusing, as a light chuckle echoed from behind her.
Answering so promptly while supposedly asleep—Delia realized her own blunder and clamped down harder on her lip.
Clearly, the man behind her had already noticed her flustered state.
“Why are you so tense? It’s unlike a proper prisoner.”
His large hand stroked her back gently, as if to ease her tension.
His touch against her bare skin was so soft it stole her breath away.
“Who? Who said I’m tense?”
Delia, feigning composure, tried to scramble toward the edge of the bed to escape his touch.
She teetered dangerously close to falling off.
“Then why run away like that?”
Unable to bear it, the man wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her back toward him.
“Kyaa!”
The more Delia struggled, the tighter his grip became.

Aaron whispered softly as he held the trembling Delia close to prevent her escape.
“Shh. Don’t be afraid.”
Aaron gently swept back the cascade of golden hair covering Delia’s face.
As the strands of sunlight-like hair were neatly parted, her cheeks—flushed like pink rose petals—came into view.
He stroked her soft cheeks slowly and murmured,
“I won’t force you unless you allow it.”
His voice, low and soothing, carried a note of reassurance.
His touch was tender and cautious, as if handling something precious.
And from behind, the warmth of his chest and the steady rhythm of his heartbeat pressed against her.
Delia’s rigid body gradually relaxed under Aaron’s touch.
Yet this very fact unsettled her even more.
The man embracing her from behind was the Supreme Commander of the Stilietz Empire.
He was the enemy who had invaded her homeland, Iorenti.
And yet here she was, held in the arms of her enemy.
She couldn’t afford to surrender herself so helplessly to the enemy…
Delia desperately pushed against him, determined not to be drawn in.
“But you forcibly held me and locked me away.”
“Prisoner, that was merely military strategy—duty as a soldier. This is different.”
“How ‘convenient’ of you to separate duty and personal matters so neatly.”
“As a soldier of the Imperial Army, known for strict discipline and high honor, it’s only natural.”
“Oh, what an impressive Imperial soldier you are—acting as if you have the right, despite being the one who attacked Iorenti…”
Delia pouted and turned her back to Aaron, biting her lip firmly.
Aaron brought his thumb to Delia’s damp lips.
“Tsk, tsk—you’re doing it again. I told you not to. You’ll hurt yourself.”
He pressed gently with his thumb, parting her lips slightly as if to erase the marks.
Delia’s berry-red lips changed shape under the movement of his fingers.
“Bite my finger instead.”
Like before.
At his hushed, intimate whisper, Delia’s earlobes flushed crimson.
“It’s none of your concern, Commander. Whether my lips get hurt or not.”
“Aren’t we past that now?”
“No. We’re nothing to each other.”
“Do you really think so?”
Delia deliberately stared at the distant table, trying to ignore the firm touch on her lips.
As if confirming what had happened moments ago, wild strawberries rolled across the tabletop.
She quickly shifted her gaze downward—their clothes lay scattered on the floor, proof of their earlier longing.
Overwhelmed with despair, Delia squeezed her eyes shut.
With her eyes closed, his firm chest pressed against her back and the damp warmth of his breath on her nape grew even more vivid.
Sleeping with the enemy…
There was no way to deny or escape this reality.
If she couldn’t avoid it, she’d have to respond with a little audacity.
“Well… it was worth trying once. It wasn’t bad.”
At Delia’s words, Aaron’s eyebrows twitched.
“Is that all?”
“What else do you need?”
“Try saying it again—your answer just now was different.”
Aaron pulled her closer, sliding his hand toward her heart.
“Back then, you were overwhelming me so roughly—I just said that to survive. It was false testimony under duress.”
Aaron gave a faint, steady pressure as he watched Delia chatter brazenly.
“Can you swear on your heart that those words are true?”

The pressure against her chest made Delia gasp sharply.
The more she struggled in desperation, the tighter his arms coiled around her.
“You just said that—why keep asking?”
Seeing Delia’s flustered panic, Aaron’s eyes softened into a gentle curve.
“Alright. I’ll believe you.”
“I’m telling the truth.”
“Yes. I’ll believe what you, my prisoner, say. So tell me—who are you really?”
His clear voice faded abruptly.
Delia held her breath as if her heart had stopped.
Her entire body froze, unable to move even a fingertip.
The relationship between her and the man embracing her from behind felt frighteningly clear.
He was the Supreme Commander of the Stilietz Empire—the very one who had invaded Iorenti.
She could never, ever reveal her true identity to him.
That she was the Princess of the Kingdom of Iorenti.
Delia sharpened her defenses like a blade and asked warily,
“Why? Are you trying to use me just because we slept together once? Wake up. I’m not someone who lets herself be used so easily.”
Aaron gently sucked on her earlobe, as if trying to relax the tension in her body.
“I’m not shameless enough to use someone that way. And sorry, but you no longer have any value to me as a bargaining tool.”
“Then why ask?”
“Because once the war ends, I’ll send you a marriage proposal.”
“What?”
Delia jerked upright, clutching the blanket to cover her mottled skin.
Her radiant hair spilled across her shoulders with the sudden movement.
Her expression, as she looked down at Aaron, was one of utter shock.
“Commander, you’re not in your right mind.”
Aaron merely smiled lazily from where he lay on the bed.
His silver hair, mirroring his smile, shimmered softly.
“I’ll ensure our troops spare your family’s lands.”
‘But Iorenti itself is our family’s domain…’
Delia swallowed the words she couldn’t bring herself to utter.
“I’ll grant your family noble titles within the Stilietz Empire.”
‘How disgraceful—for royalty of a nation to accept titles from the enemy! Death would be preferable.’
“I’ll give you far more than you ever had in Iorenti.”
‘I don’t want any of that!’
Delia mentally screamed and clutched the blanket even tighter.
She needed to make their relationship crystal clear to this enemy commander.
“Commander, you seem to have forgotten something. We’re enemies. Just because we shared a bed once doesn’t mean we can cling to each other like this—it’s unacceptable.”
“Just once?”
“We’re enemies who point guns at each other in battle. And now you talk of marriage?”
Delia sharply turned her head, trying to wrench free from Aaron.
One mistake was enough.
Gripping the blanket firmly, she shifted to get off the bed.
But in an instant, her vision flipped as she was pulled beneath him.
His distinctive silver-gray eyes—the hallmark of the Stilietz imperial family—gazed down at her with a strange intensity.
“I won’t acknowledge such absurd nonsense—let me go at once.”
Her voice trembled involuntarily under the sheer weight of his looming presence.
His body, honed by military discipline, was solid and unyielding.
Broad shoulders that had supported her as she nearly collapsed.
Strong arms that had lifted her without faltering.
The resonance of his strength still echoed within her like tremors, shaking her heart.

“I already heard you. I said I’ll propose.”
To hide her own trembling, Delia spoke with forced firmness.
“It makes no sense! We’re enemies—how can you talk of marriage? During wartime, no less?”
“I’ll make it possible.”
“I don’t want it. You’re the honorable Imperial soldier, aren’t you? You said yourself you wouldn’t force anything—marriage is personal. If I refuse, you can’t do it.”
“True. I won’t force you. I’ll wait patiently—until you give me your consent.”
Aaron’s lips curved into their usual graceful arc.
His voice remained as soft and low as foam.
Yet Delia couldn’t suppress a chill.
“I’ll never give you consent again—especially not for marriage.”
“We’ll see about that.”
“Commander, keep public duty and private matters clearly separate. We’re enemies—and the moment we step beyond this room, we’ll be fighting for our lives.”
“Then I’ll make sure you never take that step. As a commander, confining a prisoner to prevent escape is purely a matter of duty.”
Aaron’s large hand carefully stroked Delia’s cheek and throat.
“I’ll keep you here until you give me your consent.”
“Commander!!!”
Delia’s horrified scream echoed through the tent of the Supreme Commander of Stilietz.

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Wow the tension between these two is something else.
Good job Del! Looks like in the end she has won the wager.
If the fate of the crown prince is unknown, why would they send away the only other heir?
