Stop Coming On to Me (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 15
I returned to my room, cleared away the herbology book that had been rolling around on the bed, and flopped down flat on my back.
“Academy….”
Misha seemed to be adapting to the Academy better than expected. Now, if she just snagged a decent man, her life goal would be achieved in no time.
I’d become a lowly merchant—after twenty years or so of hard work, maybe I could open a shop bearing my own name.
My dream and ambition until yesterday suddenly felt trivial and humble today.
“No. That’s not right.”
I shook my head. This Rorisha Roar had come all the way from a hut in the Tounbar Mountains to the Count’s mansion—and recently even set foot inside the Imperial Palace.
Misha could probably only go to a few noble households where boys her age resided, but I could go anywhere in the world.
“It’s not so bad. Let’s just say that, Rorisha.”
I squeezed my eyes shut and rolled from one edge of the bed to the other.
Then, a knock sounded at the door.
“Rorisha, can I come in?”
“Oh, sure.”
I got up from the bed, hastily tidied my hair, and gave a bright smile. Lately, with receiving visitors every day, I’d become an expert at fake smiles.
“Misha.”
“Are you just lazing around like this because you failed the Academy?”
Ugh, this damn…
If I’m to keep living with positive thoughts, will I really have no choice but to murder Misha Roar?
I summoned my professional expertise once again.
I smiled brightly and said,
“No. It’s just that thanks to your rare visit, tonight’s menu was no joke. I overate, that’s all.”
“Ohh….”
Misha’s trailing off made me uneasy. She clearly wanted something from me—but what could Lady Roar, now an Academy cadet, possibly need from this lowly person?
“Oh, I brought this. It’s a dress I had made when I entered the Academy. I’ve never worn it once.”
Inside the box she brought was an outing dress decorated with red velvet—about a million years away from my taste.
“Didn’t you say you’d wear this when going out to the café street near the Imperial Palace this weekend?”
At my question, Misha waved her hand exaggeratedly.
“Huh? No, I’ve been too busy studying to even have time. Besides, the kids there are all so nasty—just like you… Anyway, it’s new. I’m giving it to you. Aren’t you grateful?”
That’s enough. My professional expertise ends here. I didn’t smile anymore.
I asked coldly on purpose,
“Do I even have anywhere to wear this?”
Now that you’re an Academy cadet, couldn’t you use that brain of yours to think a little?
“…”
Misha tightly pressed her plump lips together, then burst out in frustration.
“I don’t care! You’re having your coming-of-age ceremony on your next birthday, right? Just consider it a gift! It’s yours now, so do whatever you want with it!”
Giving me this unworn junk as a birthday present—Misha, I’m so touched my eyes hurt.
I said indifferently,
“Fine, I’ll just put it in the closet over there. Take it whenever you remember.”
“I said it’s yours now!”
“You’ve always been like this—giving things then taking them back.”
“Ughh…”
Misha clamped her mouth shut again.
Around then, I genuinely started to worry. This girl, who’d normally throw a fit at the mere suggestion that someone dared refuse her kindness, was now biting it all back.
What on earth could she possibly want that made her act like this? I began to think I should slowly slip away.
“Misha, I think I ate too much. My stomach hurts, so…”
“Sit down! Just sit! I need you to listen for a sec!”
Rorisha grabbed my arms as if trying to yank them out of their sockets and forced me to sit.
“Ow! It hurts!”
I barely managed to hold back a string of curses at Misha’s iron grip. But then she glanced at me nervously.
Huh…
Trending
If my stomach really hurt, I’d have just caused a terrible accident—but now I was curious.
What in the world could possibly make Misha Roar this restless?
“I—I have a favor to ask! So just hold it in a little longer. Ask your bowels nicely. Tell them Misha needs your help!”
Ha.
My willpower abandoned me and ran off. So even after entering the Academy, she still hasn’t outgrown that childish speech.
Ask my bowels? Doesn’t it occur to you to ask Rorisha instead?
“Well… um…”
Misha kept glancing distractedly between the ceiling and the carpet for a while, then swallowed hard and sighed.
I almost wanted to slap her cheek and tell her to focus.
Imagining myself slapping Misha Roar’s cheek or grabbing that lush red hair and shaking her is my guilty pleasure.
Sigh… I’m definitely going to hell.
“I have something to say…”
“I know you have something to say. I’ve known since you walked into this room earlier, and I still know now. And honestly, my bowels probably don’t care about this stuff—they just want to do their nice, pleasant thing.”
At that, Misha shot me a look, her eyes brimming with tears.
“There’s no one else I can ask for this!”
“No. Whatever it is, I refuse.”
Misha grabbed me again as I tried to stand up once more. Who else could understand the strange satisfaction of looking down at Misha’s tear-streaked face clinging to my arm?
“I’m going to write a letter confessing my feelings to Lord Rocard Kaidel! So you have to write it for me!”
Misha blurted out those two sentences in under a second and huffed indignantly.
I felt all the strength drain from my body.
Hey there, Lord Kaidel. Why did you have to show up there?
Ah. Right—you’re an Academy cadet too.
Misha let go of my arm, turned beet red, and twisted her body awkwardly. Watching her, I collapsed onto the sofa.
“Ha.”
Defeated, I slumped halfway onto the sofa.
Misha had spilled it all in one breath, knowing full well that as long as I knew this huge secret, I couldn’t run away.
Noble children are strictly monitored whenever they’re with the opposite sex. A love letter? Does she want to become gossip fodder in high society?
And the other party is that lion cub…
I was so frustrated I wanted to beat my chest—I wasn’t the owner of Tarjanji! With news like this, I could’ve made a fortune!
I decided to test Misha.
“Who exactly is Lord Kaidel?”
“You don’t know? He’s the heir of House Kaidel, the Emperor’s First Lion! The hero of the recent Amata War! Top-ranked entrant at the Imperial Academy! Isn’t he absolutely perfect? And his looks—have you seen them? When I see his black hair and those shining violet eyes, I… Sob, Rorisha!”
Sob, Misha!
I cried out inwardly, pressing my arm to my forehead.
Lord Kaidel was the top Academy entrant? I was genuinely shocked.
I’d just returned after fighting in the Tounbar Mountains for two whole years—how is this even possible?
Unlucky? If this isn’t rock-bottom unlucky, I don’t know what is. I’d feel better if the Academy ranked students by fame instead of grades.
I replied with exaggerated nonchalance,
“Oh, that Lord Kaidel? I was just so surprised I blanked for a second.”
“You’ll help me, right? You’re good with words. I heard Father praising you.”
“Sigh, Misha. Do you really think I got praised for writing love letters?”
“Wha—love—what? Rorisha! Why are you saying something so scandalous? Are you trying to ruin someone’s wedding?”
I sat up straight, lifting my head, baffled that she’d say something so absurd.
Misha insisted with all her soul,
“I just want to confess my feelings to him! It’s absolutely, positively not a love letter!”
“Wasn’t confessing your feelings the whole point? Or was it a duel challenge?”
“Anyway! It’s just not a love letter, okay? You know how humiliating it’d be if word got out!”
“I wouldn’t know. How would someone like me know? Anyway, since I don’t get it, you figure it out yourself. Academy matters should stay in the Academy.”
“Rorisha! You… you’ll be grounded if you do this!”
What is she even saying right now?
ads
“You go into town every day dressed so plainly—what are you even doing? If Mother sends someone after you, they’ll find out everything you’ve been up to in a day! If you don’t write the letter, I’ll tell Mother, and you’ll never be allowed out again!”
“…”
I stared straight at Misha. The Countess had blocked my Academy admission, and now this little red-headed girl was threatening to block my access to the apothecary shop too.
What kind of cursed fate do I share with this mother-daughter duo?
As I desperately kept my face calm while staring at Misha, a slow, creeping thought formed in my mind.
‘If you really want it so badly, Misha… why don’t you take a trip to hell yourself?’
If, by some miracle, those two ended up together, Misha would become the officially recognized lover of His Highness the Crown Prince’s certified lunatic, and Lord Rocard Kaidel would become the lover of a hopeless bumpkin.
Fine. Let those two cockroaches live happily ever after until the world ends!
I put on a very serious expression and said,
“The Countess will kill me if she finds out.”
Misha shook her head so violently her hair whipped against her cheeks.
“I’ll take full responsibility! I’ll say it was all my doing—if we’re found out, I’ll say I blackmailed you. I swear!”
“I really don’t want to get involved in this, Misha. You’ll regret it.”
“Never! I’ll never regret it. I even gave you a new dress! Just show off your skills already.”
“That dress is completely useless to me, you know.”
“Rorisha, are you really going to treat me this badly?”
Yeah. I’m going to treat you this badly.
Have you even thought back—just over the past six months, let alone the last seven years—about how you’ve treated me?
I cut her off abruptly,
“Tell me what kind of person this lord is. I need some material if I’m going to write it, don’t I?”

Male lead is a Divorced Husband
She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!

This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”

How sweet are they!! I’m curious how well our ML will come to know Roba. I have a feeling he’ll know more about her than she does herself. And we finally get to hear about the princess Roba will come to support. Roba will be the “little lion cub” she raises. I wonder if she has the intention to rise to the throne. Or if she really has no familial bond to the second prince. I think Roba will come to believe the princess hold romantic feelings towards ML and try to avoid him. ML knows the princess just wants him as a shield and will openly pursue Roba, Roba will just this he’s trying to get her in trouble with the princess. And the princess wouldn’t support ML courting Roba because she using her as protection. And ML wouldn’t like that cause only he can protect Roba, Roba can protect herself tho. This is my guess, I wonder to see if this is accurate or not. They are so cute hhehehe

There is an error!! I spent more than half the chapter trying to figure out who the “earl” was—> it’s her father, “the count”. I’m a little confused, is she back countdom or back in the village? The duke seems very kind. I wonder if the prince will want Roba as an apothecary, and will make the ML bring her to their side.
