Stop Coming On to Me (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 12
“Good morning, Miss Roar.”
“Good morning, Miss Milena, Miss Serin.”
In the academy corridor, Misha Roar greeted cheerfully, then bit her lip slightly as she watched the backs of two fellow cadets hurry away.
Over there, Lady Caline, daughter of Viscount Ancart, stood chatting with cadets who shared nearby dormitory rooms. They were talking about the late-night snacks they’d eaten while studying through the night together.
Misha’s jaw tightened a little as she watched them. Though she despised late-night snacks for making her face swell, she couldn’t help but feel envious of their camaraderie.
Absentmindedly, having just woken from a sound sleep, she brushed her fingertips across her smooth cheek.
Those who had just passed by were daughters of families closely allied with House Roar. Their kindness stemmed solely from that connection, and between them lingered a subtle, unspoken distance.
Right after the entrance ceremony, many cadets had gathered around the daughter of the Third Lion. Misha’s beauty and background shone equally bright, and she took for granted the attention and admiration showered upon her, just as she always had.
But the atmosphere changed after the first exam results were posted on the wall.
She had thought she’d studied just as she always did at home, yet the outcome was harsh.
The academy posted every cadet’s grades and rankings on the wall, and she had barely avoided coming in last. Moreover, the gap between her score and the one just ahead was substantial.
The last place belonged to Prince Rocard Kaidel, who hadn’t yet returned to classes because he was accompanying the Second Imperial Prince at a retreat. He hadn’t even attended the entrance ceremony.
After that, the cadets drifted away from Misha as naturally as a tide receding, gathering instead around Caline Ancart, the top-ranked cadet.
There was no malice or contempt in their actions—more accurately, it bordered on indifference.
Most cadets had spent years preparing for the entrance exams solely to gain the connections and experiences the academy alone could offer.
The kind of influence attainable through parties or tea gatherings was already stored away in their family wardrobes.
They simply had no time to cultivate friendships with someone who would soon fail and return home. That was the academy’s unspoken rule.
Misha had no idea how to handle this situation.
It also hurt that the female cadets in the dormitory corridor showed no interest in her new weekend dress and jewelry. Instead of going out on weekends, they scheduled study sessions.
Some had even drawn up holiday study plans already—they might never wear anything but their academy uniforms until graduation.
Yet Misha had inherited a certain inner strength from her mother, and she held herself with elegant poise.
‘My father is His Majesty’s Third Lion. One day, they’ll realize they must bow to me.’
Meanwhile, she thought that if she just studied a little harder, everything would be fine.
But Misha couldn’t understand about a third of the words her instructors used in class. She especially needed a large Imperial dictionary.
Still, her faith never wavered. If the fortitude she’d inherited from her mother were so trivial, the Countess would have long since lost self-control and caused a scandal.
A ray of light found Misha just as she was slowly losing her vitality—it happened a week after the entrance ceremony, the day Prince Rocard Kaidel appeared at the academy.
Misha was not only beautiful but also charming and graceful.
She possessed a certain allure that made passersby at parties instinctively glance back once more. Yet Prince Rocard Kaidel drew even her toward himself.
His gravitational pull was so immense that even cadets holed up in their dorm rooms studying came out voluntarily to the lounge just to see him.
The great Prince Rocard Kaidel had finally arrived at the academy.
Misha happened to spot him while passing through the lounge corridor. He stood so tall that his face remained clearly visible even amidst the surrounding cadets.
Rocard was utterly unlike what Misha had imagined.
Since he’d volunteered for war and saved the Second Imperial Prince’s life, she’d pictured a rough, cruel man who’d held a sword since birth.
But he was beautiful. The gentle curves formed by the ends of his black hair near his temples and ears made him seem like someone with refined aesthetic sensibilities.
When he looked at people, his eyes shone vividly and openly, filled with a determination and passion she’d never seen before.
He laughed, saying the new academy uniform felt uncomfortable, yet Misha had never seen anyone wear it so well. He simultaneously revealed the faces of both boy and man, deceiving the viewer’s perception.
She’d assumed that someone already hailed as the “Lion Cub of Tagar” and standing alone among the younger nobility would naturally look down slightly on others—after all, she certainly would have.
Yet strangely, no one seemed to dislike him.
Cadets bombarded him with questions: What kind of person was His Highness the Second Prince? Had he truly saved his life? Just how barbaric were the Amata?
Though many were meeting him for the first time, Rocard Kaidel answered them warmly and sincerely, prompting the cadets to exclaim involuntarily, “Ah!” or “Oh my, really!”
He had no intention of showing off; merely stating bare facts was enough to astonish and captivate his listeners.
He shone not only through eloquence but also through the humble demeanor he displayed despite having already achieved great feats.
The radiance and beauty he emitted were genuine and immutable.
Misha stood stunned in shock. At that moment, Rocard, sensing a persistent gaze from afar directed at him, turned his eyes toward her.
Misha quickly hid behind a pillar at the entrance and fled. She couldn’t believe she’d stooped so low as to spy on a man.
That night, she tossed and turned until dawn. While other cadets kept their rooms lit studying through the night, she lay awake in her dark room, unable to sleep for thinking of Prince Rocard Kaidel.
The next day, when the date for the next exam was announced, Misha returned to her room and opened a book. She now had a clear reason to remain at the academy.
Not long after, as she was returning alone from the library with borrowed books, someone called out to her.
“Miss Roar.”
Thump, or perhaps thud.
Trending
His soft, melodious voice struck Misha Roar’s heart just like that.
Considering they were in front of the library, Rocard called out to her quietly, then quickly strode toward her.
His long legs gave him such a wide stride that it seemed to require no effort at all.
“I am Rocard of House Kaidel.”
Misha gave a small greeting, hoping the dim lighting of the windowless corridor would hide her flushed cheeks.
“Misha… that’s my name. How did you know me…?”
“I’ve greeted most of our fellow cadets, but it seems I missed the chance to greet you, Miss Misha. You are the daughter of the Third Lion, aren’t you?”
“Thank you.”
Misha was dissatisfied with how small her voice sounded.
But she didn’t think it was bad. She knew that her flushed face, flustered demeanor, and soft voice might actually accentuate her femininity.
“Y-your uniform suits you very well.”
“Thank you.”
This man, who had fought in the mountains during the war, even knew how to crinkle his eyes playfully when smiling.
That fact surprised Misha. Her heart reacted again—thump, thump.
“Um, since I’ve been absent lately, may I ask you a question?”
“Yes! Anything!”
Misha unintentionally squeaked her reply, her face growing even hotter as she lowered her eyes.
“Could you tell me if any classes have covered foreign trade routes? Perhaps about Smailan or information regarding the open sea?”
“Foreign trade routes? Well, I’m not very familiar with commerce… and I don’t recall hearing about it in class either.”
“Oh, I see. I must have heard it vaguely somewhere. I’d better check with the academic office.”
“Yes… that would probably be best. I’m sorry I couldn’t help.”
“I’m the one who should apologize for troubling you, Miss Roar.”
As he turned away after a respectful bow, Rocard’s expression hardened.
Questions concerning trade routes with neighboring countries, including Smailan, were not covered in the first- or second-year academy curriculum. Only third-year cadets intensively studied such practical, battle-related topics in preparation for debates.
In truth, Rocard had prepared for early academy admission before enlisting. He’d already completed coursework beyond mere enrollment—enough to skip ahead—so he was well acquainted with the trade route material.
Thus, what Rocard Kaidel truly sought wasn’t information about class progress.
It was Misha Roar’s intellect.
While his father, Duke Teran Kaidel, the First Lion, stood firmly beside Emperor Muro in matters of martial prowess, Count Heliden Roar, the Third Lion, served the Emperor through civil affairs.
Count Roar’s intelligence and problem-solving ability were unmatched. His flexible conduct, unbound by factional loyalties, earned him consistent respect from the nobility.
Rocard was genuinely curious.
If even Count Roar’s illegitimate daughter was clever enough to capture the Second Prince’s attention, just how capable might his legitimate daughter, Misha Roar, be?
If Misha were only as intelligent as Rorisha, she would perfectly fit the role of the “flawless, capable talent” that Prince Greyan sought.
His fathers’ positions might pose a problem, but he intended to overcome it through his own abilities. After all, didn’t the younger generation have the right to break free from the burdens and legacies of their predecessors?
Yet in the Misha he’d just met, he saw no trace whatsoever of Count Roar.
Even if she didn’t know about trade routes, the issue of pirates in the open sea was covered at the academy entrance exam level.
Nevertheless, Misha Roar responded to his question with pure, unfeigned ignorance.
Her eyes shone beautifully as she looked at him—but that light wasn’t the kind that would leave a lasting impression on him.
As Rocard walked down the corridor and away, he muttered irritably to himself.
“She’s his half-sister—how can this be!”
Most Commented This Week
Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.

How sweet are they!! I’m curious how well our ML will come to know Roba. I have a feeling he’ll know more about her than she does herself. And we finally get to hear about the princess Roba will come to support. Roba will be the “little lion cub” she raises. I wonder if she has the intention to rise to the throne. Or if she really has no familial bond to the second prince. I think Roba will come to believe the princess hold romantic feelings towards ML and try to avoid him. ML knows the princess just wants him as a shield and will openly pursue Roba, Roba will just this he’s trying to get her in trouble with the princess. And the princess wouldn’t support ML courting Roba because she using her as protection. And ML wouldn’t like that cause only he can protect Roba, Roba can protect herself tho. This is my guess, I wonder to see if this is accurate or not. They are so cute hhehehe

There is an error!! I spent more than half the chapter trying to figure out who the “earl” was—> it’s her father, “the count”. I’m a little confused, is she back countdom or back in the village? The duke seems very kind. I wonder if the prince will want Roba as an apothecary, and will make the ML bring her to their side.
