Stop Coming On to Me (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 10
He smiled gently at me, then his eyes flickered for a moment. He had clearly recognized me.
The moment I realized that, the voice I’d been straining to squeeze out vanished completely.
Seeing me merely flapping my lips, the Count spoke for me.
“My daughter, Rorisha.”
“I am Rocard Kaidel. It is an honor to meet you, Lady Roar.”
His voice, answering with a sly smile, sounded to me like this:
‘You’re totally caught.’
“Lord Kaidel.”
I barely managed those words before bowing my head, holding my breath as I heard the Duke remark how refined the young lady was and how proud the Count must be.
Now that I thought about it, the black-haired man I’d seen earlier on the beach had been him. The neatly arranged color of his hair felt like an omen for the rest of my life.
Pitch-black darkness.
Lord Rocard Kaidel asked in a manner meant to seem friendly. At first glance, it sounded like an appropriately polite question for someone at a seaside hotel.
“Do you enjoy taking walks, Lady Roar?”
“No, I’m afraid to go outside my home.”
The Duke chuckled as if I’d said something endearing. The Count, though aware I sometimes wandered around town, laughed along with the mood.
But I’d spoken sincerely. Now I truly couldn’t bring myself to step outside because I was so frightened.
I’d also heard tales of Lord Kaidel’s valor—the victory in the Amata campaign, the army’s triumphant return, and the exploits of the Second Prince and the heir of the First Lion. People hailed Lord Kaidel as Tagar’s young lion, treating him as a hero.
If my luck was so wretched that being born a bastard led me to be mistaken for a stalker of the young hero Lord Kaidel, I’d rather just grow old and die in my room.
Yet upon hearing my reply, Lord Kaidel lifted one corner of his mouth in a clear sneer.
I understood his expression perfectly.
‘What’s this? You wandered the bustling night streets just fine.’
My breath caught in my throat; I took a sip of water and set the glass down—only for it to clink sharply against the edge of the service plate.
The two noble lords politely pretended not to notice such a trivial mishap, but Lord Kaidel’s lips twitched again.
His amusement at my blunder came through vividly. It stung even more that he didn’t openly mock me.
But I was already trapped, unable to move until this long, drawn-out banquet finally ended. True hell existed elsewhere, it seemed.
Just then, a servant entered and whispered into Lord Kaidel’s ear, prompting him to rise from his seat.
“Please forgive me, Father, Count Roar. I must excuse myself for a moment.”
The Duke asked softly, “Were you summoned?”
“Yes. I ask for your understanding, Count.”
“Of course. You must go by all means.”
I watched intently as Lord Rocard Kaidel stood, bowed silently to the guests in apology, and departed.
Though he’d defied convention by leading troops into battle at such a young age, his bearing carried a discipline and strength I’d never seen before.
It was the refinement of nobility, and at the same time, the dignity granted to one who’d claimed his inherited duty through adversity.
At that moment, I felt a profound sense of distance—much like when I looked at the wall of the Academy’s annex.
Perhaps the Countess’s misused phrase, “the cultivated grace of the chosen few,” truly referred to something like this.
Of course, his astonishingly refined features, his well-proportioned frame that radiated strength even at rest, and his melodious voice all contributed to that aura.
Yet the fact remained unchanged that he was an utterly unlucky man for me, leaving me with strange, conflicting feelings as he disappeared.
Whoever had called him away, I silently clasped my hands in gratitude.
Just then, the Duke said to the Count,
“My, the young lady looks unwell.”
The Count replied,
“She must be weary from the long journey. Rorisha, shall you return to rest?”
I was tearfully grateful for the two lords’ little performance.
With no one my age present, the Duke had clearly spoken up before my already nervous self could make an even bigger blunder. After all, witnessing the embarrassment of someone you must respect would make both parties uncomfortable.
I gently set down my napkin and bowed my head.
“I thank you both for your consideration. Then, with apologies, I shall take my leave. Duke Kaidel, Count.”
The Duke gave me a slight nod, allowing me to exit with at least a minimal shred of human dignity.
‘I feel ten years older!’
As I closed the dining room door with that thought, I nearly let out a squeak.
Leaning crookedly against the door to the antechamber stood Lord Kaidel, grinning wickedly at me.
Trending
‘He’s a demon.’
He turned and strode ahead as if telling me, ‘Follow me.’
I instantly understood the threat in his smile and, trembling, followed him.
He opened the door at the end of the corridor and stepped inside, but I didn’t want to be alone with him in a room.
So I spoke with the door still open.
“If you have something to say, could we talk outside…?”
But the voice that answered from within was different.
“It’s fine—come in.”
My mouth froze, yet my body moved as if entranced, closing the door behind me as I entered.
Inside sat the knight I’d met earlier on the rocky hill. The problem was the lion emblem on the shield pinned to his chest—the mark of royalty.
Seeing him in full uniform, I finally recalled that silver hair was a trait of the Tagar royal family. I’d only ever heard of it—how could I recognize royalty if I’d never seen any!
His cold smile held not a trace of goodwill toward me.
It didn’t seem he bore me any particular regret. To me, he simply felt like someone who had no need for others’ favor.
“His Royal Highness Greyan, Second Prince of Tagar, the Little Sun.”
At Lord Kaidel’s words from beside me, I stiffly offered a bow.
“Eternal glory to Tagar. Rorisha Roar greets His Royal Highness the Second Prince. My apologies for not recognizing you earlier.”
“Lady Roar’s hobby seems to be failing to recognize people, Your Highness.”
I clenched my teeth and glared at Lord Kaidel.
This was a situation where my life could hang in the balance. I had to explain myself firmly.
“You were in plain clothes, so I didn’t recognize you. Had I recognized you despite your efforts to conceal your status, that would have been truly embarrassing.”
Prince Greyan’s eyes widened, and Lord Kaidel looked at him as if to say, ‘Look at this.’
Back then, given the circumstances, it was a misunderstanding—but to take revenge like this!
Prince Greyan said,
“I called you because I thought you wouldn’t be able to eat properly, stuck among all those lions.”
Confused, I looked at His Highness, who continued,
“Count Roar values propriety and decorum, so I figured that if Rocard left the table while dining with a Duke, he’d send you away.”
I suppose I’d been ejected from that room thanks to my own clumsy sense of propriety—but never mind. The outcome was the same either way.
Annoyed, I asked,
“Couldn’t you have just called for me directly?”
“I wanted to see you secretly.”
Prince Greyan answered and stared straight at me.
I quickly lowered my head.
“I shall keep this matter confidential.”
Prince Greyan laughed and said,
“I told Rocard what you said earlier. I told him it was strange meeting a young lady who said exactly the same thing as you.”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
“This fellow’s mad, you know.”
“Your Highness.”
For the first time, Lord Kaidel showed clear dismay and called out softly—likely feeling His Highness was treating me too harshly.
I found it amusing. The idea that I’d be this flustered was slightly insulting.
I muttered very quietly, “Mad, is he?”
“That explains it…”
“What was that?”
“Nothing, Your Highness.”
Prince Greyan burst out laughing, while Lord Kaidel frowned and crossed his arms.
Seeing him slowly grow irritated was so enjoyable that I felt my energy returning for the first time in ages.
“May I ask you a question?”
“Please ask.”
“Why aren’t you intimidated? Even if you’re unimpressed by royalty, is a mere Second Prince not enough to move you?”
At the sudden question, Lord Kaidel, who’d been standing with his arms crossed, covered his eyes with his palm.
ads
I was flustered too. Was this really the question he’d secretly called me here to ask?
“Well…”
“Speak.”
“It feels unreal.”
“As if you’re dreaming?”
“No, that’s not it…”
At my quick denial, Prince Greyan narrowed his eyes, and Lord Kaidel looked slightly afraid of what I might say next.
Inside, I chuckled.
Good. That expression.
“I thought royalty were fundamentally different from ordinary people—like they don’t even use the lavatory… Sorry. I’m so nervous I can’t think of a better way to say it.”
“So you mean I’m too ordinary? Plain clothes make me blend in that well? Don’t worry—you don’t look nervous at all.”
Prince Greyan, suppressing a smile, gestured for me to continue.
“No! That’s not what I meant… Not at all.”
Lord Kaidel reluctantly interjected,
“Lady Roar has such a bold character that she once faced a harasser alone on a dark street.”
That’s the truth!
“You didn’t meet her for the first time today, did you?”
“If I were giving an example, that’s what I’d say.”
So slick—It’d been a long time since I’d grown to dislike someone this much in such a short time.
Prince Greyan, who’d been smiling with evident amusement, quietly stifled his laughter and asked me,
“I have one more question.”
Ugh. No. I’m tired.
“Please ask.”
“What’s the most effective way to silence someone’s mouth?”
His counterpart was His Royal Highness the Second Prince, the Emperor’s second son. He lacked neither wealth nor power to deploy. If someone like him was troubled over silencing a person’s mouth…
Ugh. Such is my luck.
My head suddenly throbbed. I was even afraid to ask.

Ex-husband Wants Reconciliation
One-line summary: Chasing the wife to the crematorium (making an effort to attract someone who has become indifferent), the female lead doesn’t look back, the second male lead takes the position.

Intro:
To repay the kindness of the older generation, Su Mu crossed into a female-dominated world and became a live-in daughter-in-law of the Yan family, single-handedly saving the Yan family from fire and water.
But her husband, Yan Jiyue, the eldest son of the Yan family, treated her with sarcasm and never showed her a good face.
It wasn’t until after Su Mu’s death that this pampered and arrogant young master shed a few fake tears and pretended to want to die for love.
This life’s kindness was enough. If there was a next life, she would definitely kick Yan Jiyue away.
Who knew that the heavens would be so kind as to allow her to be reborn, returning to the time when she had just married into the Yan family.
Su Mu glanced at the Yan eldest son, who still spoke coldly to her, and threw a divorce letter in front of him.
“Let’s divorce!”
***
Yan Jiyue never imagined that he would be reborn. He happily went to find Su Mu, wanting to make up for the mistakes he had made in his ignorant youth.
Wasn’t the reason the heavens allowed him to be reborn to let him reconcile with Su Mu?
But when he pushed open the door to Su Mu’s room, the person lying on the bed was another man.
Su Mu’s personal attendant, Xie Yi.
Yan Jiyue hated him so much that his teeth itched. In front of Su Mu, Xie Yi was a gentle and considerate whisperer of sweet nothings, but in reality, he was vicious-hearted and deliberately sabotaged their husband and wife relationship.
In the previous life, it was he who secretly hid in Su Mu’s coffin and committed suicide, stealing a step ahead of him to be buried with Su Mu.
Yan Jiyue’s eyes were filled with hatred as he cursed, “What kind of thing are you? Your background is lowly, what right do you have to occupy Su Mu?”
Xie Yi looked at the sleeping Su Mu and no longer pretended to be a whisperer of sweet nothings.
He proudly stuck out his belly, “I have the right because my belly is capable of giving the Wife-master a daughter.”
***
Yan Jiyue was consumed with jealousy. He spread rumors that Xie Yi had once been branded with the mark of a “harlot” on his chest.
But on the night Xie Yi cut off the flesh bearing that mark, Su Mu suddenly realized something was amiss.
“How did you know the exact moment I was poisoned? And why did you show up a month early?”
Xie Yi remained silent, blood from his wound soaking through his robes. His sapphire eyes brimmed with anguish – or was it just a flawless act?
Between a once-arrogant husband now seeking redemption, and a gentle soul willing to die for her – who truly held the darkest secrets? And could it be that Su Mu and Yan Jiyue weren’t the only ones given a second chance at life…?

How sweet are they!! I’m curious how well our ML will come to know Roba. I have a feeling he’ll know more about her than she does herself. And we finally get to hear about the princess Roba will come to support. Roba will be the “little lion cub” she raises. I wonder if she has the intention to rise to the throne. Or if she really has no familial bond to the second prince. I think Roba will come to believe the princess hold romantic feelings towards ML and try to avoid him. ML knows the princess just wants him as a shield and will openly pursue Roba, Roba will just this he’s trying to get her in trouble with the princess. And the princess wouldn’t support ML courting Roba because she using her as protection. And ML wouldn’t like that cause only he can protect Roba, Roba can protect herself tho. This is my guess, I wonder to see if this is accurate or not. They are so cute hhehehe

There is an error!! I spent more than half the chapter trying to figure out who the “earl” was—> it’s her father, “the count”. I’m a little confused, is she back countdom or back in the village? The duke seems very kind. I wonder if the prince will want Roba as an apothecary, and will make the ML bring her to their side.
