Early that morning, Ibelia rose earlier than anyone else, finished dressing, and headed to the reception room—because of the message her father had sent the previous evening.

After the unexpected meeting with Felix, her mind had become unbearably tangled. Yet, because part of his message had been welcome news, Ibelia had instructed Pailin to send a reply agreeing to meet him the next day.

In the unexpectedly free time, Ibelia mulled over Felix’s words again and again. Everything he’d said churned restlessly in her mind, but what troubled her most was what he’d mentioned regarding her father.

[Ask your father. When you were little, did you really never go to the Caroline Marquisate?]

This wasn’t the first time Felix had spoken to her about the marquisate. Previously, too, he’d asked about her childhood, speaking as though she’d once visited the estate for convalescence.

In her dreams, she always roamed freely through the meadows and dense forests. Though she wandered everywhere, she never once felt lonely.

Though she saw no one else’s face but her own, she always felt as if someone were with her—so joyful and happy.

Thus, Ibelia had vaguely assumed it was simply the nature of dreams. Whenever she recalled that dream, her heart would flutter, and even in melancholy, she’d feel refreshed.
