In the end, they blended the Empress’s coronation and the knighting ceremony together, having me kneel on both knees instead of just one and place the sword upon my shoulder.

“I’ve heard that so many times I feel like nails are being driven into my ears. Don’t worry. I won’t do anything to give anyone cause for criticism.”
