The Silver Crown Princess Palace. Officially named the Tiaze Palace, everyone preferred to call it by its nickname because of its shimmering silver hue, as if painted with cool moonlight.

From early morning, the Crown Princess Palace was thrown into chaos—all because of Crown Prince Leopold’s fiancée, Olivia Madelaine, whose hair gleamed with the same cool silver as the palace itself.

“The young lady arrived without any luggage and plans to stay for several days? What’s going on?”

“They say she came to the imperial residence before dawn in a carriage bearing no crest?”

“Her face looked like she’d been crying somewhere.”

From titled servants and maids down to the scullery maids in the servant quarters, whenever they gathered, they all spoke of Lady Madelaine.

It was the same on the floor beneath the balcony. Olivia slowly sipped her tea, listening to their giggling chatter.

“They say even the backs of her hands were bright red and swollen—she had to apply ointment?”

Thankfully, she’d changed her dress alone; it was a good thing she had. If they’d seen the marks on her shoulders, their cheerful gossip would have grown even livelier.

“Hem hem! Ahem!”

The fake cough of Baroness Sophron, standing nearby, grew louder and louder. Olivia smiled faintly at the woman’s flustered, angry expression.

“Do I look like I’ve been crying?”

“Yes?”

“It’s Wednesday, isn’t it?”

It was the day she had an appointment with Leopold. Baroness Sophron must have realized it too, for she brought a hand mirror. Olivia glanced into it and brushed her fingertips along her eyes.
