The green eyes quietly gazing at the other person shimmered beneath the morning sun with pure, unwavering trust. That man possessed precisely that much confidence in his own words.

‘How strange.’

How could someone speak with such utter confidence? How could he be so certain that not even a trace of falsehood existed in what he said?

To Yuricien, Benjamin was truly a unique individual—not merely unique, but someone so profoundly unsettling that he could momentarily shake even her core beliefs and values.

Just yesterday, hadn’t he revealed a painful truth to her in the cruelest possible way?

‘He could have told me in a gentler manner.’

In truth, she hadn’t refrained from blaming the Crown Prince while returning from the secret passage to her room. She’d shifted responsibility onto him thoroughly—from why he’d told her at all to why he’d chosen such a harsh method. Yet, Yuricien still found it difficult to hastily resent Benjamin.

It was simply too hard to hate him outright for shattering fifteen long years of love, especially since the man she’d recently met had left such a deep impression on her.

He’d helped her immensely in reclaiming her identity as a Windsor—first by locating Jorgen, then even sending Carly herself to protect her.

Moreover, it was before the Crown Prince that Yuricien had realized she didn’t merely dislike marrying the Marquess of Hopgrand. And it was also the Crown Prince who, upon learning she’d been rejected by Heathcliff, immediately proposed to her himself.

‘And His Highness the Crown Prince is also the one who sees me not by any title, but simply as “me.”’

Lately, Benjamin had appeared whenever Yuricien faced her most perilous moments. Each time her footing wavered near the cliff’s edge, he’d boldly seize her hand and pull her back—always in his own way, every single time.

Though she didn’t know what hidden intentions he might harbor behind that.

‘But the help His Highness the Crown Prince has given me is undeniably great in allowing me to stand here now.’

She had to admit it. Had she not received Benjamin’s proposal before hearing yesterday’s truth, the despair she would have endured would have doubled. She now understood that although Benjamin might not be particularly kind or gentle, he was certainly no vile or cruel villain.
