If You Wish For My Death (6 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 2
“Die! Die! Just die already!”
“Guh! Guh!”
In an instant, his throat was strangled; he couldn’t resist and collapsed.
His blue eyes, filled with horror, rolled back, and his fingertips wildly clawed at the back of her hand.
People nearby screamed and frantically tried to pull her off him.
Veronica clung to him stubbornly, squeezing so tightly that his pale skin turned dark purple.
Blood trickled from the scratches her nails had left. Had Harry not pulled her away, she almost would have succeeded.
Veronica flailed both arms and screamed,
“He must die! He absolutely must die right now!”
“Veronica!”
At that single, panicked shout, her body flinched to a halt. Her dazed eyes focused on her father.
Her hand, which had been thrashing through the air, gently touched his cheek. Her lips moved faintly—“Father…” it seemed she was calling.
Harry quickly ordered servants to take her away.
But the moment her blank gaze, which had been fixed on her father, caught sight of Asar being helped to his feet again, Veronica lunged toward him once more.
People bound her and dragged her off. Veronica struggled fiercely.
She had to strangle that wretch to death right now! Only by killing him could she prevent future disasters, yet everyone kept stopping her—it was utterly frustrating.
After being dragged back to her room and locked up, she sulked—until her father arrived shortly after. He knelt before Veronica, meeting her eyes at eye level, and spoke gently.
“Veronica, why did you do that to His Highness the Crown Prince just now? You’re not so young that you wouldn’t understand how dangerous that act was.”
“He used me! He whispered love to me every single day, then betrayed me! He framed you with false charges and brought ruin upon our entire house! We must kill him before he uses our family again!”
“My child, he came to propose marriage to you.”
“No! Aaargh!”
Veronica wailed like a madwoman.
Seeing his daughter clawing at her own head, Harry, startled, hurriedly tried to calm her.
Veronica raged uncontrollably until she finally collapsed from exhaustion.
She stayed awake the entire night and regained consciousness the next day. When the maids saw she was awake, one hurried out.
Her father soon arrived after hearing the news. To his question about why she had acted that way yesterday, she answered consistently:
“He must be killed. For our sake.”
“Veronica… my child…”
Harry sighed, clutching his forehead—but Veronica’s answer remained unchanged.
Instead, she earnestly tried to persuade her father.
They had to kill him right now! Only by eliminating him could they prevent the destruction of their house! Only then would her father avoid being falsely accused and executed!
It had been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Who knew when another chance would come? She couldn’t help but despise herself for foolishly letting the chance to kill Asar slip away.
Veronica remained imprisoned. Her father ordered her not to leave the room until she showed remorse.
She spent an entire day bound tightly to her bed. Except for meals and bathroom breaks, she had to lie there all day.
Each morning, Harry would visit and ask her:
“How are you feeling today? Have you changed your mind? Do you regret your actions? Are you ready to apologize to His Highness Prince Roel? It’s fortunate he’s decided not to press charges against you. How lucky that he’s willing to overlook what happened that day.”
Veronica paid no attention to his words—she had no intention of changing her mind or showing remorse.
Instead, she simply stared endlessly at her father’s healthy, youthful face.
Several days passed like this. When she opened her eyes, maids untied her bindings.
Confused by her sudden release, she was startled when an unforgettable face appeared in her room—Asar. He approached her.
She glared at him with murderous intent, while he looked flustered, nervous, and unsure what to do.
Between the collar of his shirt pressing tightly against his throat, a faint blue bruise was briefly visible.
“Miss Hardness. It’s been a while since that day.”
“…”
“I felt we needed to talk, so I came again. I want to understand why you were so angry with me that day… and why you wanted… to kill me.”
She silently stared up at him, standing before her, carefully choosing his words with a sorrowful expression.
As her gaze lingered, she sensed his growing unease. “Miss Hardness?” he called out again, cautiously.
“Please sit down, Your Highness.”
“…Then I’ll take the liberty.”
Asar looked slightly surprised but sat in the chair before her bed.

Even then, her intense stare didn’t waver. Asar gave an awkward smile and continued,
“I heard you haven’t been feeling well. Is your condition very serious?”
Apparently, her father had explained her behavior that day as due to “ill health.”
“Your Highness.”
“Yes, Miss Hardness.”
“I heard you came to propose to me last time.”
“Yes. Though it was late… if Miss Hardness finds someone like me acceptable—truly acceptable—I wish to repay your affection.”
“I see.”
But her reply was so indifferent that Asar looked deeply flustered. Veronica, expressionless, gestured toward the water pitcher on the side table beside him.
“Actually, I’m thirsty. Could you pour me some water?”
“Oh.”
Though it wasn’t a request he’d normally expect, Asar dismissed the approaching maids and obediently rose.
He picked up the pitcher, poured water into a glass, and offered it to her.
Instead of taking it, Veronica just stared blankly at him—and he looked puzzled.
“My hands are weak. Could you come a bit closer?”
She raised her trembling hand. Asar glanced at her thin wrist and leaned closer. At that moment, Veronica suddenly smiled.
He was so focused on her gaunt, weakened face—she’d lost weight in just a few days—that he didn’t notice one of her hands slipping under her pillow.
“Die!”
A dagger pulled swiftly from beneath the pillow swung toward him in an instant.
Asar jerked his body back just in time—the blade barely grazed his cheek. Immediately, she lunged again.
She climbed on top of him, trying to drive the dagger down. Asar barely managed to grasp her wrist and block it, but Veronica pressed down with all her strength.
“Just die already! Die! Die!”
“Kyaaah! Young Lady!”
Maids screamed and tried to stop her. Hearing the commotion outside, more people rushed in. A struggle broke out.
Even with several people clinging to her, Veronica refused to back down—it was monstrous strength, inexplicable from her slender frame.
Then, suddenly, a powerful force sent her flying backward.
Her body lifted into the air with a whoosh. As her field of vision slowly widened, she saw her father—the one who had shoved her.
“Veronica!”
Harry reached out his hand. Veronica reached back—but it wasn’t enough. Her body fell through the open window.
Her eyes snapped open—Veronica was lying in bed again.
Her whole body was drenched in sweat, and ragged breaths escaped her parted lips.
She couldn’t tell whether what had just happened was a dream or reality.
She couldn’t stop crying, heartbroken that her own father had pushed her to her death.
But something even more important came to mind. A knock sounded at the door, and maids entered—this scene felt familiar.
“Miss Veronica, you have a visitor.”
Right away, Veronica allowed herself to be dressed.
Though startled by her tear-streaked face, the maids calmly carried out their tasks.
While they were momentarily distracted, Veronica quietly hid a pair of scissors.
She then went to the drawing room and met Asar—that detestable face who claimed he’d come to propose.
“Miss Hardness.”
This time, she made no mistake.
Veronica strode toward him, pulled out the scissors she’d hidden, and plunged them into his throat as he stood before her.
“Kyaaaah!”
“Veronica!”
People screamed, and someone rushed forward frantically.
In the meantime, Veronica calmly drove the scissor blades into his neck again and again.
His clear face twisted in agony, and he let out guttural, sickening groans: “Guh… guh…”
She gladly met his disbelieving stare with joy.
By the time she was yanked away by force, his body had already gone still—he’d lost consciousness.
“His Highness Prince Roel!”

One of his attendants checked his pulse, then shook his head. A choked, stifled wail escaped the room.
Veronica, having witnessed the entire scene, was filled with elation.
“Ahhhaha! Serves you right! Perfect!”
Unable to contain her joy, Veronica laughed aloud.
Kah-kah-kah-kah! Everyone who saw her laughing after murdering someone wore expressions of horror.
She was immediately arrested. Hauled away to the imperial palace as a royal assassin, she was thrown into prison. A trial was held, and her execution by beheading was decreed.
The wait until the executioner’s block was terribly dull, but the satisfaction of achieving her goal made it bearable.
Of course, she was terrified when the moment of execution came.
And so, Veronica died again. When she opened her eyes, she was once more sixteen years old. This time, she needed no time to understand the situation.
She didn’t wonder why she kept returning to the age of sixteen, nor why this kept happening to her.
After all, it was reason enough to rejoice.
“Miss Veronica, you have a visitor.”
“Yes. I’ve been waiting.”
Seeing the maids arrive to help her dress, she smiled more brightly than ever before.
While being dressed, she secretly took the scissors again—just like last time—and stabbed Asar in the throat the moment they met once more.
Again, most of the scissor blades sank instantly into his flesh.
His clear face contorted in pain just as before, and he let out the same guttural, sickening groans: “Guh… guh…”
“Ahhhaha!”
Watching him die, clutching his spurting throat, Veronica laughed cheerfully—then, without hesitation, stabbed her own neck.
It was far easier than waiting for the executioner’s axe.
And once again, she returned—sixteen years old.

Male lead is reincarnated to save his wife
I’ve also read this one twice already. The female lead is kinda soft and gets embarrassed easily—not really my type, but the plot is definitely worth reading. Hurry up and read it, y’all!

Intro
When Shen Yuan encountered Su Jin again in his previous life, she had already become the Prime Minister of the current dynasty. As for him, the former top young master of the capital, he had long since fallen into the abyss, becoming a singer on a pleasure boat.
After a song ended, he was redeemed and sent to the Su Residence.
Su Jin respected and cherished him, gave him a roof over his head, and bestowed him with warmth. Shen Yuan fell deeper and deeper, but before he could express his feelings, Su Jin passed away.
Shen Yuan died to follow her in death, but instead, he returned to when he was fifteen years old.
At that time, he was not yet engaged, and Su Jin was just a poor scholar.
Shen Yuan gritted his teeth, casting aside all his pride, and thought of ways to coax and entice her every day.
The colder and more indifferent Su Jin was towards him, the more proactive Shen Yuan became.
He was not afraid of being mocked by the world, only wanting to marry his Wife-master early, to hold her hand and never let go for a lifetime.
[Note: This story will not specifically point out the male lead’s reincarnation time point; it’s all in the details. Whenever you feel that the male lead is acting strangely, he has most likely been reincarnated.]

this chapter was extremely sad. I like the fact that the author keep emphasizing on her past life, like not to let go her trauma. I i have read many fast pace regression novels when as soon as fmc finds love everything else just goes really fast and nothing else matters almost as if forgetting the revenge which was suppose to be the priority, so far loving this novel i hope they don’t ruin it.
I can totally understand the fmc she don’t want fake friends cause she already has a experience where she thought someone was her friend but they where only using her for her status. I mean its always hard to trust people when u been betrayed badly. I can totally understand her having trust issues.
she must be thinking something really romantic is going on between them. If only she knew what her favorite is scheming in that head of hers.
