If You Want A Cheeky Seductress (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 5
She was called Rotti, but her real name was probably Roxiana.
Roxiana Evelyn Franche.
Remembering her name brought back the memory of their last meeting.
It had been a day unusually overcast with thick black clouds and heavy rain. The fire that broke out in the small palace where Floyd was staying was extinguished quickly, thanks to the pouring rain, and did not spread to other palaces.
Victien IV had assured him he was fine and urged Floyd to stay longer, but Floyd knew it was time to leave.
He had no belongings to pack, no household to take with him. Just as when he first entered Idel Palace, he would depart alone, empty-handed. As he trudged slowly through the rain, he spotted the princes gathered together with the princess.
“Ah! I hate this!”
“Really? This frog says he adores you.”
Apparently, they’d caught a frog to tease the young princess. Floyd had many siblings himself, but he’d never experienced such affectionate closeness among them, so the scene struck him as refreshingly warm—and deeply envious.
Just then, his eyes met those of one of the princes. After saying something to the princess, the prince prompted her to spin around abruptly and stare directly at Floyd before rushing toward him with hurried steps.
“Going home?”
The young princess stopped in front of Floyd, tilted her head up high, and looked up at him as she asked. Only then did Floyd notice that her eyes were green, rimmed with a golden gleam.
“Yes, I’m leaving.”
He had no home to return to, but that wasn’t something a child could understand, so he answered simply. The princess blinked twice, then said,
“It’s raining so much.”
“I’m still leaving.”
At his curt reply, the princess tilted her head slightly to the side, then extended the umbrella she was holding—likely intending to offer it to him—but because she was so small, the tip of the umbrella poked Floyd’s forehead.
Floyd was more concerned about the rain soaking the princess’s hair than his own forehead, yet she paid it no mind and declared,
“Take this and go.”
“It’s fine.”
“Take it. You’ll catch a cold if you get wet.”
Those words—about catching a cold—hit Floyd like a blow to the back of his head. No one had ever worried about him catching a cold before.
Overwhelmed by this unexpected kindness, Floyd stood dumbfounded as the umbrella handle was thrust into his hand. The thoroughly drenched princess beamed brightly at him and said,
“Don’t get hurt.”
Leaving those words behind, she turned and ran back to her brothers. Floyd couldn’t manage a reply.
“My lord.”
At the voice calling out, the vision from the past shattered into pieces. Kirshan stood beside Floyd, having arrived at some unknown moment.
“Oh, Kirshan. Why don’t you have a drink too?”
Kirshan gently pushed away the offered cup and spoke.
“My lord, we’ve received a report from the harbor. A merchant attempting to board a ship bound for the Hoben Archipelago appears to be a slave trader…”
At the word “slave,” Floyd’s face twisted sharply in anger.
“Those damn bastards!”
Floyd snatched up his cup to hurl it, but Adrian deftly caught it midair and set it back on the table. Floyd sprang to his feet and strode swiftly toward the citadel gate.
Though sea monsters had gathered unusually close to shore, making sea routes perilous, the waters around Torkan remained relatively safe, drawing many merchants to the port.
Floyd accepted most ordinary merchants but strictly banned slave traders. Nevertheless, slave dealers continually found ways to sneak in covertly and board ships to other nations.
“How big is this operation?”
“It’s not large, but they mentioned a ‘big catch.’”
“A ‘big catch’? Unbelievable.”
Fallen noblewomen fetched high prices. Likewise, talented individuals—such as mages or knights skilled in swordsmanship—were also referred to as “big catches” when traded.
Floyd mounted the horse Kirshan had prepared and galloped toward the harbor.
Upon arriving, Floyd leapt directly from his running horse and rushed to the soldier waiting for him. The soldier began to bow respectfully, but Floyd waved his hand dismissively, as if annoyed.
“Where is he?”
“He’s already boarded the ship.”
The soldier pointed toward one of the massive merchant vessels moored in the port. Sailors bustled about on deck.
“Why couldn’t you stop him?”
“We checked the crates—they contained only ordinary medicinal herbs.”
“Did you inspect every item?”
“We couldn’t. Each crate bore the royal crest of the Hoben Archipelago and was sealed with protective magic…”
“Why suspect him of slave trading?”
“Jack from the fish market claims he saw the man when he himself was a slave. He says this man used to visit the count’s mansion, bringing slaves with him.”
Trending
The merchant vessel the suspected slave trader intended to board was already preparing to depart. Adrian spoke to Floyd, who glared fiercely at the ship.
“If it truly bears the Hoben royal crest, interfering recklessly might be unwise. If the cargo turns out to be legitimate royal property, this could escalate into an international incident.”
Floyd scowled.
Adrian was right—if the cargo truly held no wrongdoing, it could trigger an international crisis, possibly even war, depending on the item’s importance. Yet the Hoben Archipelago was notoriously active in slave trading.
Floyd was certain the crates contained slaves.
“Open every single one.”
“My lord, if the Hoben Archipelago takes issue with this…”
Floyd gave a sharp, mirthless laugh. The wind blew through his auburn hair, making it flare like flames.
“I’ll apologize in person if needed. Open them!”

Roxiana sat curled up inside a cramped crate.
Before, she’d been confined in an iron cage where she could at least move slightly, but just before entering the Grand Duchy of Torkan, she’d been stuffed into this box.
The slave trader, fearing she might bite her own tongue off, shoved a wad of cloth into her mouth and said,
“The King of Hoben has already paid a fortune for you. You’d be better off living as the king’s slave—he goes mad for beautiful women. Try your best to charm him. Who knows? He might even take you as his lover.”
The slave trader reveled in the irony that Roxiana, once a princess of a sovereign nation, had become mere merchandise in his possession. He often took her out of the iron cage, made her kneel before his chair, and delighted in resting his feet on her back.
“What an amusing twist of fate! Once, you would’ve been in my place—but look at you now. Without my permission, you can’t even lift your head. Behave well, and I’ll sell you somewhere nice.”
Whether she was sold somewhere “nice” or could lift her head or not—it no longer mattered. Having fallen from princess to slave, forced to kneel before someone whose origins were even more obscure than her own, she felt no humiliation.
Or rather, it wasn’t that she didn’t feel it—she felt nothing at all.
Ever since hearing that her family’s corpses had been dumped into a well, Roxiana’s mind had drifted far from this world.
The days spent with her family. The carefree happiness she’d known in Idel Palace. Trapped in those cherished memories, she’d lost herself entirely.
Thus, her current state—starving for days, cramped in this box—had no effect on her whatsoever. Hunger, the pain in her joints, the suffocating lack of air—it was all as if it weren’t happening to her at all.
“You’ll board the ship soon. Stay quiet. Though honestly, struggle as much as you like. I’ve cast protective magic on this crate—no sound you make inside will leak out.”
She couldn’t even tell whether the slave trader’s voice outside the crate was from today or yesterday. At a time when her family lay unrested at the bottom of a well, her own plight hardly mattered.
During her long solitude, she never once thought of Lucas or Elise. The absence of her beloved family gnawed at her bones and severed her very bloodline—far more than any motive behind their betrayal.
Every time she recalled her family, her heart tore open, yet no tears fell. Thus, Roxiana simply remained curled up, breathing quietly like a discarded doll stuffed into a crate.
“What—what are you doing!”
“We have authorization!”
Suddenly, a commotion erupted outside. Sounds of something breaking, the slave trader’s desperate pleas, then his furious cursing.
Had they encountered sea monsters aboard the ship?
If so, Roxiana hoped they’d kill her and cast her into the sea. Perhaps then her soul might drift aimlessly until, by some stroke of luck, she reunited with her family.
Elise had once said she might be fortunate enough to meet a kind master and be buried in Adelia’s tomb, but Roxiana wanted none of that. If her family couldn’t rest in God’s embrace, she refused to enter peaceful slumber alone.
“There they are—slaves.”
A languid voice drew nearer.
“My lord, there are slaves in this crate too.”
“In this one as well!”
“Seize those bastards!”
A rough, deep voice also approached. Apparently, it wasn’t sea monsters after all.
‘Torkan was the only place on this continent where slave trading was banned.’
The racket briefly pulled Roxiana back from her memories into the present.
High-born ladies typically devoted themselves to dance, embroidery, painting, and other refined arts rather than international affairs, but Roxiana had studied widely alongside her older brothers.
‘And the master of Torkan was…’
Floyd Carlo Laetean.
The Crimson Tiger who annihilated sea monsters.
At that thought, a flicker of hope—faint, nearly imperceptible—finally sparked deep within Roxiana’s green eyes.
The next moment—
Crash!
Someone tore open the crate without hesitation.
Roxiana lifted her bowed head and stared at the man before her—a figure with storm-gray eyes, holding a splintered piece of the crate, radiating the fierce aura of a tiger. Heat radiated from his broad shoulders, causing the air around him to shimmer.
Their eyes met. His furrowed brow smoothed, and his narrowed eyes widened in surprise. After studying Roxiana carefully, he exclaimed in disbelief,
“What is this? Why is the Princess of Khanta here?”

This one’s also on my reread list! The rivalry, scheming between the men in the imperial harem are just as intense and thrilling as in classic palace drama novels, where concubines fight to the death. Give it a read, girls! I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Synopsis:
“I am not worthy of her… but I still want to be by her side, even if only as a loyal dog…”
Those were the painful whispers of Yue Guanyi – the proud Crown Prince of the Great Qi, who was torn between deep love and a guilty conscience. Despite holding the supreme power of the Imperial Guard, he still could not forget the dark past when he was sold into a brothel.
Fate played a cruel twist when Qiu Shuzhi – a young female official who had just passed the imperial examinations with top honors – stepped into his life. She did not know that she was the one who had saved him from a tragic fate many years ago. And now, her heart was the target of pursuit for both Yue Guanyi and the powerful Empress Dowager Qin Qing.
While Yue Guanyi only dared to silently care for and protect the one he loved from afar, the Empress Dowager Qin Qing openly expressed his feelings and did not hesitate to take advantage of his power to approach Qiu Shuzhi. The covert struggle between the two most powerful forces in the imperial court began…
