“Could this be a dream too?”

Roxiana thought vaguely.

“Yes, this must be a dream as well.”

Roxiana slowly blinked and examined his face. His skin was flawless and smooth, and his features sat perfectly in place.

“He looks like a statue.”

She’d heard many women sought the ruler of the Grand Duchy of Torkan.

—“What’s so great about that bastard of a bastard… Just because he can handle some monsters, every tomcat and stray dog is going crazy for him. Such vulgar creatures.”

Unaware that she’d even gained the leisure to appraise a man’s features, Roxiana kept admiring his face—until a soft breath slipped from between his lips and brushed against hers, startling her.

She’d thought it was a dream, yet the breath against her lips felt painfully real.

“Was it not a dream after all?”

The moment she realized it, her body tensed. Sensing her slight movement, he abruptly opened his eyes.

His gray irises were extremely close. Roxiana stared into those storm-cloud eyes, unable to breathe.
