If You Want A Cheeky Seductress (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 15
“She was a kind fairy.”
As they left the Lily Palace garden, Jewelry said. Dennis nodded.
“Yeah, but there are no fairies in this world, Jewelry. It wasn’t a fairy—it must’ve been a princess.”
“There couldn’t possibly be a princess here.”
“There is. Dad told Mom that a princess would be living in the Lily Palace.”
“Really? So she wasn’t a fairy, but a princess?”
“Yeah. She looked just like a princess.”
Hearing her brother’s words, Jewelry recalled the face of the pretty older sister she’d met earlier.
Hair shimmering silver in the sunlight, skin as white as snow—something rarely seen in this land—and jewel-like eyes gleaming beneath delicate eyebrows.
She hadn’t worn a lavish dress like those in fairy tales, but she was far more beautiful than any imagined princess. So Jewelry decided she would recognize that older sister as a real princess.
“She was a kind princess.”
“Right. If it had been Sir Cain or Sir Adrian, they’d have picked us up and tossed us straight out.”
“But why was the princess crying?”
They were grateful she hadn’t scolded them for playing in the garden. Their mother had said that when you feel thankful, you should give a gift, so they’d made her a bouquet.
They’d expected the princess to smile brightly, but instead she’d buried her face in the bouquet and cried for a long time.
Not knowing what to do, the two children fidgeted anxiously until a maid spoke.
“Miss, Young Master, it’s alright now. You’d best head back. The knights’ training will be finishing soon.”
Snapping to their senses at those words, they fled from the spot as if running away.
“Maybe someone she loved died.”
At Dennis’s words, Jewelry halted in her tracks.
“Like Carrie older sister?”
“Yeah. When Lord Bester died, Carrie older sister had that same expression.”
“Then she must be so sad. Brother, let’s be really nice to the princess. Carrie older sister said she felt better because we were kind to her.”
“Yeah. Let’s be nice to her. But right now, we need to get home before Dad catches us.”
“Okay!”
Just as they were about to start walking again, the children stopped at the sight of a tall figure approaching from the opposite direction. Looking up at him, their faces lit up with bright smiles.
“My lord!”
At their simultaneous cry, a smile spread across Floyd’s lips. Gazing down at them with honeyed eyes, Floyd opened both arms wide.
Jewelry and Dennis dashed over with pitter-patter steps and flung themselves into Floyd’s embrace. Floyd scooped Jewelry up in one arm and Dennis in the other, then stood abruptly. Jewelry, suddenly lifted high into the air, giggled brightly.
“Where have you two been?”
“To the Lily Palace.”
At Dennis’s reply, Floyd’s arms tensed.
“The Lily Palace? In the garden?”
“We met a beautiful princess at the Lily Palace.”
This time, Jewelry answered. Floyd glanced back toward the path leading to the Lily Palace garden.
“The princess was out in the garden?”
“Yes. But is she really a princess?”
“Yes, she is.”
“She’s so pretty—prettier than Carrie older sister. She’s a kind princess.”
“Was she kind?”
“Yes, she didn’t get angry even though we were playing. But, my lord… when we gave her flowers, she cried.”
“Hey, don’t say things like that. I told you not to go around gossiping about people crying.”
“But the princess is so pitiful! They said someone she loved died.”
“I only said that maybe it was the case.”
Floyd fell into thought as he watched the children bicker back and forth. He couldn’t tell whether it was good or bad that Roxiana had cried upon receiving the flowers the children gave her.
“My lord, can we visit the Lily Palace again?”
At Jewelry’s question, Floyd hesitated briefly before nodding.
“Yes, go visit often. I’ll make sure to speak with your father about it.”
After setting the beaming children down, Floyd ruffled their hair affectionately and headed toward the Lily Palace.

By the time Roxiana was led back into the palace by Patria, lunchtime had just passed. While maids arranged dishes on the parlor table, Roxiana stood by the window.
She placed the bouquet she’d received from the children into an empty vase.
—We’ll take good care of them.
—These children will live long, happy lives.
Those voices, audible only to Roxiana, no longer felt as irritating as before. Silently whispering “Thank you,” she gently stroked a petal.
“My Lady Roxiana, please have your meal.”
At Patria’s words, Roxiana turned and headed toward the table. Despite having instructed them not to prepare much, the sofa table was overflowing with food.
“I can’t possibly eat all this alone—Patria, join me.”
“No, how could I possibly—”
“Eat with me, Patria.”
After blinking in surprise, Patria carefully sat across from Roxiana. Roxiana reached for a piece of bread but changed her mind and instead cut a slice of crisp-roasted pork, placing it onto Patria’s plate.
Looking touched, Patria gazed down at the juicy meat and said,
“Thanks to you, My Lady Roxiana, my mouth has been enjoying nothing but luxury lately.”
“Is that so?”
“Jackie, too… Ah, Jackie is an apprentice cook in the kitchen. She said she’s been gaining weight from all the food you send back, and she’s delighted. Hah… though that’s not actually a good thing—you should be eating more yourself.”
“I’m eating plenty.”
Roxiana finely chopped some bacon, crisped it up, sprinkled it into her soup, then dipped a piece of bread into it. Just as she was about to put the soaked bread into her mouth, a voice sounded from outside the parlor door.
“May I come in?”
Patria immediately set down her fork and sprang up, hurrying toward the door. Roxiana quickly swallowed the bread in her mouth and rose to greet the master of the palace.
Soon, Floyd strode in through the opened door.
Every time she saw him, Roxiana felt it—the sheer intensity of his presence made the room feel suffocatingly full just by his entrance.
Roxiana stepped forward to kneel before Floyd, but he caught her arms and lifted her up before she could.
“I told you not to do that.”
Glancing around the parlor, Floyd remarked,
“You were having a meal.”
“I’ve finished.”
“Finished already?”
Floyd frowned slightly as he looked at the untouched dishes. When his gaze shifted to the plate across from hers, Patria flinched.
Dining with a princess—she was surely about to be scolded.
But Floyd said nothing. Instead, he led Roxiana to the sofa, seated her, then took the seat opposite her and said,
“Eat more.”
“Is that an order?”
Floyd’s brow twitched.
“Yes. It’s an order.”
Roxiana let out a short sigh and picked up her fork. Watching this, Patria realized she didn’t belong in this moment and quietly slipped out of the parlor.
Floyd watched silently as Roxiana forced food into her mouth and chewed mechanically. It pained him to keep watching her swallow such delicacies as if they were mud.
As he idly glanced around, his eyes fell on the vase by the window. A few nameless wildflowers were arranged inside.
So this must be the bouquet Jewelry and Dennis gave her.
He’d heard she cried—but since she hadn’t thrown it away, she must have liked it. Maybe he should have the entire garden replanted with these wildflowers?
Still gazing at the flowers, Floyd spoke.
“So it’s flowers.”
Roxiana, who had been staring only at her plate, looked up and followed his gaze.
“Yes.”
“Do you like flowers?”
“Yes.”
“I see. What else do you like?”
Roxiana fell silent and said nothing more. Floyd, who had been waiting for a reply, felt a surge of anger but held it back and said instead,
“I’ve sent people toward the Kingdom of Khanta. We’ll likely hear news from there soon.”
Again, Roxiana offered no reply. Feeling inexplicably anxious, Floyd added,
“Perhaps someone from the Franche Royal Family is still alive.”

Only then did Roxiana turn her gaze fully toward Floyd, meeting his eyes directly.
“Is that truly what Your Highness believes? Do you honestly, sincerely think so?”
Her tone was calm, yet Floyd sensed a faint anger beneath her words.
He wanted to tell her—even if it was a lie—that perhaps someone had gotten lucky and survived, that they’d escaped safely. Maybe then, a faint glimmer would return to those lifeless eyes of hers.
But even those dead-like eyes held him so tightly, unnaturally so, that he couldn’t utter a falsehood.
When Floyd remained silent, Roxiana lowered her gaze. The shadow cast by her long lashes looked like tears of blood.
“Your Highness, I am grateful for everything you’ve done for me. But please, don’t fill me with false hope. Don’t let the fragile flame I’ve barely managed to extinguish kindle once more and burn my body again. If you truly wish for what little remains of my life to last even a year more, then just leave me be—let me breathe without hope.”
Her earnest plea carried neither resentment nor blame, yet Floyd’s chest tightened. He grew furious at her continued resignation, her refusal to abandon despair.
‘So I’m angry again.’
This wasn’t even worth getting angry over, yet he couldn’t understand this surging frustration. And even harder to understand—
‘Why isn’t anything happening?’
Floyd looked down at his own palms.
When he felt this bad, flames should have been pouring from his body—at the very least, the air around him should have grown scorching hot.
Yet right now, the mad entity coiled deep within him lay unnervingly still and calm, as if it had fallen into a deep slumber.

She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!

This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
