If You Want A Cheeky Seductress (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 1
Imperial Calendar, November 1577.
Count Congte, visiting the Grand Duchy of Torkan, strode toward the audience chamber with his chin arrogantly raised as always. His insolence, stemming from his status as an envoy of the Kingdom of Gania, persisted even after entering the audience chamber and standing before the master of Torkan.
“Grand Duke Floyd Laetean! You shall humbly receive the royal decree sent by His Majesty King Joseph V of Gaia!”
At his impudent demeanor, Adrian, standing loyally beside Floyd, clicked his tongue in annoyance, and Cain’s hand moved toward the sword at his waist. However, Grand Duke Floyd Carlo Laetean himself merely raised a hand to halt his subordinates and laughed heartily.
“They say that living among cats makes even a mouse believe it’s a cat—Count Congte, you fit that description perfectly!”
Despite his boisterous tone, his words were a clear insult aimed at both King Joseph V and Count Congte.
King Joseph V was the cat; Count Congte, the mouse.
Realizing this, Count Congte’s face flushed red and his eyes bulged—but Floyd continued to look down at him, still roaring with laughter.
“What outrageous—!”
Count Congte’s furious shout was cut short as searing heat suddenly enveloped him. The heat took on a tangible form like a rope and tightened around his neck.
Ssssk—
Count Congte never heard the sound of his own flesh burning. He was too busy clawing at his neck in a desperate attempt to tear off the intangible, burning noose, screaming in sheer panic.
“Aaaah! Aaagh! P-please… please spare me…!”
Ignoring the ear-splitting screams, Floyd turned to his subordinates and asked cheerfully,
“Look at that—doesn’t this seem much better than before?”
Cain, who had been trembling with outrage at the count’s disrespect, lowered the hand that had been twitching near his sword hilt and replied with satisfaction,
“Indeed, your precision has definitely improved since last time.”
“Not sure. Might just be luck.”
Adrian offered a dry remark, but Floyd didn’t drop his gleeful expression.
By now, Count Congte had collapsed entirely onto the floor, writhing in agony. His neck was drenched in blood from his own frantic scratching and blistered from the searing heat.
“My lord. He is an envoy of the Kingdom of Gania. We cannot send him back as a corpse.”
If not for Arsen’s rational intervention, no one else would have paid Count Congte any mind.
“Ahhh, right!” Floyd exclaimed, quickly extending his hand.
The heat he had unleashed returned to him instantly and completely—but Count Congte kept thrashing on the floor, unaware that the scorching grip had vanished, paralyzed by terror.
“Count Congte.”
Only when Floyd’s deep voice filled the audience chamber did the count finally stop clawing at his throat and blink his eyes open.
Though the searing sensation had disappeared, the pain from burns and self-inflicted wounds remained—but not enough to rob him of his senses.
Count Congte hastily scrambled to his feet and stood stiffly in place. His posture was now drastically different from when he’d first entered the chamber.
His eyes slightly downcast, shoulders hunched, fingers trembling.
Seeing this pitiful sight, Floyd smirked and lifted a finger. “Eeek!” Count Congte shrieked, stumbling backward until he crashed to the floor with a thud. Floyd and his men burst into laughter, and the count’s face turned beet red.
“Why so frightened? I merely gestured for you to hand over that so-called royal decree.”
Still blushing, Count Congte clumsily got back up and shuffled forward, presenting King Joseph V’s letter respectfully with both hands.
At Floyd’s nod, Arsen stepped forward to take the letter.
“Read it. Skip the flattery and pleasantries.”
Following Floyd’s order, Arsen read aloud the letter’s essential contents in a low voice. As he continued, the smile on Floyd’s face faded—and seeing this, Count Congte’s face turned deathly pale.
“So in short,”
Floyd stood up, took the letter from Arsen, and skimmed through it.
“Now that the Kingdom of Khanta belongs to Gania, they want us to exterminate the monsters in that region?”
He already knew the news from several months prior—Crown Prince Lucas Felur of the Kingdom of Gania had personally led his army to invade the Kingdom of Khanta and slaughtered King Victien IV along with his entire family.
The Franche Royal Family, which had ruled Khanta for generations, had been utterly destroyed by Lucas’s schemes.
But that had nothing to do with Floyd.
“Count Congte. What do you personally think of this royal decree?”
Count Congte looked up at Floyd, who stood before him with a faint smirk.
The giant man towering over him—two heads taller than most—was already intimidating enough, but realizing that Floyd’s eyes held no trace of amusement sent a chill down his spine.
Why on earth did I dare act so arrogant before this man? I’d heard every rumor about him…
Count Congte’s knees began to tremble as he recognized his folly.
Gulp.
He swallowed hard before barely managing to speak.
“W-well, it’s less a royal decree and more of a… request…”
“Really? I heard it differently. Didn’t you explicitly say I must obey the royal decree? Are you implying there’s something wrong with my hearing?”

Count Congte swallowed again.
“Your Grace, it’s simply—”
Thwack!
Before he could finish, Floyd kicked him squarely in the chest. The sheer force sent Count Congte flying backward without even a chance to scream.
Lying on the floor, the count watched in panic as the giant man strode toward him.
Floyd planted his boot firmly on Count Congte’s chest.
“Cough, cough!”
Though the count gasped and choked, Floyd kept his weight on him and glared down coldly.
“How audacious your master is. Did he really think such shameless trickery would work on me?”
“Y-your Grace…”
“Do I still look like that pitiful wretch who once groveled for his life in the corners of his palace? Does your master truly believe Torkan remains under his thumb?”
Floyd seized Count Congte by the collar and lifted him effortlessly. Bringing their eyes level, Floyd glared into his face before hurling him aside with a growl,
“Go back and tell him, Count. Torkan is not part of the Kingdom of Gania—and I am no longer Felur’s dog.”

Imperial Calendar, April 1577.
After a month inside the Grand Temple, Roxiana stepped outside and looked up at the clear spring sky. Her platinum hair fluttered gently in the breeze.
The weather, chilly when she had first entered the temple, had now fully turned into spring. The sky was bright and pure, and the wind carried the scent of flowers.
‘Spring has truly arrived.’
Though spring came every year, this spring—her twentieth—held special meaning for Roxiana.
Long ago, it had been decided that Roxiana would marry Lucas Felur, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Gania, in the year she turned twenty.
It was customary for noble and royal women across the continent to offer prayers at the Grand Temple in the Empire and receive a priest’s blessing before marriage. Royal women, in particular, were required to spend a lengthy period in prayer.
Ever since her wedding date was set around this time last year, Roxiana had been frantically busy preparing for the ceremony and readying herself for her stay at the Grand Temple.
And now, she had finally completed the most significant pre-wedding task: a month of uninterrupted prayer.
‘When I return this time, I’ll bid farewell to the Kingdom of Khanta.’
According to tradition, Roxiana and Lucas’s wedding would be held in Khanta, the bride’s homeland. After a week of festivities, she would depart for the Kingdom of Gania.
Thus, Roxiana would transition from being Princess of Khanta to Crown Princess of Gania.
Crown Princess of the Kingdom of Gania.
She had always known this would happen someday—but now that it was truly at her doorstep, her heart felt strangely unsettled.
“Your Highness!”
At the cheerful voice, Roxiana snapped out of her thoughts.
Before her stood the royal carriage of the Franche Royal Family of the Kingdom of Khanta, and in front of it, her handmaiden Lasha beamed brightly.
“Did you wait long? I hurried as fast as I could, but I’m still late!”
Lasha had accompanied Roxiana to the temple and spent the past month in the nearby town, patiently awaiting the end of her mistress’s devotions.
No attendants, no matter how trusted, were allowed inside the Grand Temple during pre-wedding prayers.
“No, I came out early. It must’ve been hard staying in an unfamiliar place—any aches or pains?”
“Not at all! I ate well and stayed comfortable. You’re the one I worry about—the temple meals are said to be dreadful. Just look how thin you’ve become!”
Roxiana smiled slightly.
The meals had indeed been poor, but not so bad she couldn’t eat. Occasionally, there was meat, and sometimes pickled fish.
“Oh, please get in the carriage quickly, Your Highness. Everyone’s waiting.”
Thinking fondly of her kind parents, elder brothers, and younger siblings, Roxiana climbed into the carriage.
After a journey of just over ten days, she would see her family again. She had never been separated from them for so long and missed them terribly.
During her first few nights at the temple, she had even cried softly, longing for them.
I shouldn’t tell anyone about that—my brothers would tease me endlessly if they found out.
“It feels strange… this will be the last time I see my family like this.”
“Oh my, Your Highness! Don’t say such sad things. Gania and Khanta aren’t far apart, and with trains, you’ll visit often. And Lord Lucas is such a kind man—he’ll surely let you go see your family whenever you miss them.”
Roxiana thought of Lucas.
Lasha was right—he was a gentle man. Though only slightly taller than her, his striking golden hair suited him perfectly, and many women admired his handsome looks.
Even her oldest friend, Elise, had often remarked enviously,
“You’re so lucky, Your Highness—to have such a wonderful man as your fiancé.”
He certainly was incredibly handsome and charming.

‘But I’m not sure.’
Roxiana looked down at her own hands.
‘Do I truly love Lucas?’
Lucas had been her betrothed since before she even understood what love meant.
Though they belonged to different nations and rarely met, they saw each other four or five times a year and went on what could be called dates—strolling by riversides, attending operas, and even sharing kisses before parting.
She’d shared her first kiss with Lucas at sixteen.
Only when his face drew slowly closer did she realize his intention—and she tightly shut her eyes.

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
