The location was above a company in the state of Connecticut. A gate had opened in the sky, and American news helicopters buzzed around it.

Already today alone, over thirty reporters had come and gone from that spot—the very first place in the United States where a gate had appeared, and also a company conveniently close to our school.

Meanwhile, back at Rowingham High School, also in Connecticut, heated discussions were unfolding as students watched the news broadcast showing the gate’s emergence.

“The military can no longer control the gate. Ordinary people’s attacks aren’t working at all!”

Ms. Jina said.

She was one of the few awakened individuals among our school’s teachers.

Her face flushed red as she suddenly shouted.

“The military won’t publicly admit they can’t close the gate—not with public opinion weighing on them. But it’s only a matter of time! Look at that screen right now—no matter how much they shoot, it won’t close!”

“Ms. Jina, please calm down a bit.”

Mr. Charlie spoke.

Mr. Charlie was famously devoted to his students. Because of this, he was always deeply anxious about awakened students falling into danger.

“I know you care deeply about the kids, Mr. Charlie. You must be scared I’ll drag them into danger.”

“That’s not it, Jina…”

“But if we don’t seal that entrance now, all our students might die.”

Ms. Jina said in a somber voice.

Her words made sense.

Since the gate had opened in the sky, there’d been no major activity.

However, in other countries, monsters had already emerged from gates, and daily reports confirmed that awakened individuals—called ‘Hunters’—were the ones defeating them.

In short, this was the beginning of change, and now that America’s very first gate had appeared, our school stood right at the heart of the chaos.

‘Everyone must be uneasy since America’s first gate opened so close by.’

True, no monsters—or anything else—had appeared yet, but who knew if something might suddenly burst out as time went on?

I listened calmly to their conversation.

They were so engrossed in their heated debate that they hadn’t even noticed I’d entered the principal’s office.

“The military has already announced plans to train awakened individuals. We must protect our own neighborhood with our own hands—adults and children alike must work together to close the gate!”

“But the kids are still too young. What if we gather only the awakened teachers and awakened civilians in the city to handle it…?”

“Um…”

“That wouldn’t be enough people! Right now, even the tiniest contribution matters—yet you want to be selective about who fights? Other countries are drafting people regardless of age!”

“Excuse me, teachers…!”

“Only a handful of countries are drafting. Look beyond the exceptions, Jina—consider the bigger picture.”

“What did you just say? Are you calling my perspective narrow?”

“Hey!! Teachers!!”

At my shout, both of them—and even the principal—turned to look at me.

Their expressions clearly said, ‘When did this kid even get here?’

Seriously, was my presence that insignificant?

Ms. Jina finally calmed her excitement and turned toward me.

“When did you come in? You’re… Juno, right? From eleventh grade.”

“Yes, that’s right.”

It’s truly heartwarming that someone like me—an extra—gets remembered.

I gave Ms. Jina a gentle smile. She, embarrassed after raising her voice in front of a student moments ago, quickly looked away.

Mr. Charlie approached me.

“What brings you here, Juno?”

“I had something I wanted to ask you, sir.”

“Go ahead.”

I glanced at Mr. Charlie, Ms. Jina, and even the principal, who had been silently watching their argument.

Confusion flickered across their faces.

To them, I was probably just a quiet, model student—reserved, hard to read, and never really mingling with other kids.

But I had a hidden power.

I’d intended to keep it tightly concealed until graduation…

Ding!

Chapter 115 Chapter 114

Name: Juno Huntington.

Rank: A.

Skill: Elemental Bullet.

Exclusive Skill: Extra’s Basics (p), -.

Trait: Intelligence.

I deliberately ignored the status window hovering before my eyes and cheerfully asked the three of them,

“I saw on the news this morning—the president announced a new policy for awakened students, right?”

“Huh?”

My sudden question left all three of them wide-eyed.

“Is it true, teachers, that they’re creating a special Ivy League admissions track just for awakened Hunters?”

“Well… why do you ask?”

I tilted my head and gave them the most harmless, cheerful smile I could muster.

“Because I think I might be one of those awakened.”

[This is the timeline separator]

My name is Juno Huntington.

I’m in eleventh grade, and my dream school is HXrd.

My goal is simple: graduate from a prestigious university and live comfortably.

If there’s any exception, it’s that closing a gate—something never in my destiny—has become part of my path.

[This is the timeline separator]

As I mentioned earlier, my name is Juno. Juno Huntington.

I’m from Rowingham High School in Connecticut, currently in eleventh grade, and yes, I have XX chromosomes.

Reddish-brown hair, hazy gray eyes, blurry features behind black oval glasses, pale cheeks dotted with freckles.

My figure is average, but in this looks-obsessed world, my unremarkable build earns me zero bonus points.

To be precise, it’s not really my body—it’s the one I’ve possessed.

My reason for possessing this world was simple.

I’d been studying all night for exams and took a short break by watching an American teen drama on a streaming site.

Then suddenly, my consciousness started flickering—and everything went dark.

At first, I thought my brain had just shut down from three days without sleep…

But when I opened my eyes, I found myself inside a teen drama.

Its title? .

If you ask how I ended up watching something with such a repulsive title, I can only stay silent.

Well… isn’t everyone a little out of their mind during exam season?

Just like how people suddenly clean their desks or do things they normally wouldn’t, I chose this drama for exactly that reason.

Just to relieve some stress with a mindless teen show that required no thinking…

‘Even so, if I’d known I’d get reincarnated into this show, I never would’ve watched it.’

Still, I suppose I got lucky—it’s not an apocalypse filled with zombies or some world-ending disaster.

Had I been stuck in a movie where zombies ravaged Earth or an asteroid was about to hit tomorrow, I probably would’ve died within a day.

At least teen dramas are kind of a garden of peace…

But the character I’d possessed—Juno Huntington—was the ultimate background extra.

Didn’t her appearance alone give it away?

A nerdy ginger.

The kind of girl who probably carries boring science magazines or classic literature tucked under her arm.

A practically invisible presence—a girl no one would ever ask to prom.

Unfortunately, I was very good at objective self-assessment.

‘I thought being in a teen drama meant I’d at least get some scraps of attention… But like this, I won’t even get a decent guy, let alone a “king.”’

The charm of teen dramas lies in romance with refreshingly pure-hearted boys—but that dream had to be abandoned early.

Sorry, Juno, but with this bland appearance, there’s no way I could charm any of the show’s male leads.

So what’s left?

‘Ah, no matter what, the rule of teen dramas is always this.’

And what is that rule?

Love between nerds and kings? Love so strong it beats long-distance relationships? Bold public confessions in front of the whole school?

No. Seriously, those aren’t the real rules of teen dramas.

The true rule is this: characters who spend the entire drama shouting about love without ever studying somehow always end up getting into elite universities by the finale.

Places like HXrd, YXle, or OXford.

‘Right! Even if it’s fictional Xbird, HXrd is still HXrd! If I can slip into a prestigious university and graduate, I’ll strike it rich too!’

In my past life, family circumstances forced me into a university I didn’t want—crying while swallowing bitter mustard. But this time, with the teen-drama buff, getting into an elite school was entirely possible.

So I changed my path: I’d aim for the Ivy League.

Of course, this was a fictional America within a drama, and the Ivy League here was probably fictional too—but if I couldn’t return to my original world, education was all I’d have left, right?

Even fictional credentials are still credentials!

After all, Juno Huntington was just a drama character—if she somehow got into an elite university through sheer luck, who could argue with that?

Would viewers even care which university some extra like Juno attended?

Thus, having possessed this world in Juno’s tenth-grade year, I smoothly completed a year of adaptation.

Remaining unnoticed by everyone was just an added bonus.

My goal was simply to enjoy school life peacefully, graduate from a fictional elite university, and live comfortably ever after.

Treading carefully, I finished tenth grade without incident.

Then came eleventh grade.

In Korean terms, it was like entering my second year of high school—and for the first time, I had to attend a career counseling session.

Mr. Jason handled both science classes and career counseling.

When he asked which university I wanted, I boldly declared,

“I want to go to HXrd, sir! Xbird!”

My clear voice filled the empty classroom.

I was blissfully optimistic about my future, but Mr. Jason’s face hardened like a plaster statue.

Why did he look like he’d just heard something unbearable?

Just as I wondered, Mr. Jason finally gathered himself, adjusted his glasses, and spoke with difficulty.

“I’m sorry, Juno, but Harvard isn’t a place just anyone can get into.”

“Huh?”

His tone carried a hint of pity—as if he felt sorry for my naive daydreaming.

“How about adjusting your goals downward? With your grades, Ivy League is unrealistic. Let’s look into more achievable options.”

“But, still…”

Gently but firmly, Mr. Jason dismantled my childish fantasy—and even patted my shoulder, as if urging me to snap out of it.

I was utterly bewildered.

All those airheaded teen protagonists with rocks for brains got into Ivy League schools, yet I, just because I was an extra, couldn’t?

It was the moment my perfect plan toward HXrd began to collapse.

Regret With All Your Might (Completed Main Story)

Side Story 5 Side Story 4

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!

  1. Sign Bet Chapter 22

The pacing of this story is honestly so good. Every chapter just flows perfectly into the next and keeps me hooked.

  2. Sign Bet Chapter 35
I am actually wheezing at Victor’s immediate, cat-like panic the second Juno mentioned bringing Adrian to the game. He was acting so incredibly smug and confident about his guaranteed victory, but the mere thought of another guy going with her completely threw him off. It is so funny how transparent he is about wanting her all to himself.
  3. Sign Bet Chapter 36
I am actually wheezing at Juno dramatically raising her arms like a stage performer to convince those occult nerds that their cursed juice had “ominous spiritual energy” inside it. She literally saved them from severe food poisoning by making up a whole Level-One classified secret on the spot. Her inner monologue about them being better off getting bitten by a radioactive spider was absolute peak comedy.
