Fully grown Zihicho was as big as an apple. Round, flat leaves curled around the fruit that bloomed in the center of the Zihicho, cabbage-like, forming a protective circle.

“If you place the leaves over a wound, the bleeding stops and the pain lessens.”

Stella’s genuine admiration delighted Esta, who continued her explanation.

“Moreover, if you dry the central fruit and brew it into tea, it dulls pain. You can adjust the concentration depending on the patient’s condition—brew it strong for those in severe pain, and weak for those with milder symptoms.”

The detailed effects of Zihicho weren’t thoroughly described in the Noble Farmer’s Book.

It merely stated, ‘Used to alleviate the patient’s suffering,’ so everything Esta explained felt utterly wondrous to Stella.

“That’s not all. Powder made from Zihicho roots effectively neutralizes poison.”

Now understanding just how exceptional Zihicho was, Stella gazed anew at the plump, round plant before her.
