I Accidentally Imprinted On The Wolf Duke (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 71
“No, that’s not it. This isn’t right. Right now, I want to tell you I want to marry you because I love you.”
But in the end, greed couldn’t overcome her conscience.
“…….”
In an instant, the playful smile vanished from the Duke’s face.
“Even if you and I might marry someday, it doesn’t feel right right now. We’ve only just started… dating, haven’t we? So I’d like to continue dating you a little longer instead of getting married. I think it’s right to marry only when I can be certain about you, and you can be certain about me—when we’re both sure our feelings won’t change no matter how much time passes. Because right now, we don’t know each other well enough.”
Calmly, words contrary to her true feelings kept flowing out. The truth was, she desperately wanted this man—so much that her heart ached.
“……I see. I suppose you could feel that way. You might not have certainty about me… yet.”
The Duke turned his eyes away from hers. His neck, as he stared at the roaring fireplace, was taut with visible veins, as if he were restraining something.
Was he angry?
“Your Grace, I’m only asking for some time.”
But perhaps this really was the right thing to do?
She needed time for the Duke to fall in love with her—not just as his Imprint, but for who she truly was. After all, he barely knew her; he hadn’t even discovered her true gender until just a few days ago.
“I’m sorry for acting so selfishly, but regardless, you’re no longer my personal attendant. I dismissed you yesterday, and by now everyone in this household knows you as Chloe Reeden.”
After a brief silence, during which he’d only stared at the fireplace, he finally turned back to her and announced this. While she’d been obliviously sleeping, the Duke had already revealed her true identity to everyone in House Ulphaz.
Now, the weight of people’s gazes and judgment rested solely on her shoulders.

Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.
In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.
As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.
Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.
She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.
“Brother, come home with me.”

I don’t think she’s been informed that being imprinted means severe pain during heat. If she knew that, she would return to the Duke because she wouldn’t want him in pain.

Guilt over Klein, sorrow at having to part from His Grace, and sadness mixed wit
I understand her mother is worried and all, but it is really cruel to tell Chloe to never see the Duke again. She has no right to come between the two of them.
