Boiling Desire (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 4
“Then, shall I fill it from someone else?”
His whisper-like voice by her ear sent shivers rippling across Seo Ah’s entire body.
Ha Joon, who had wanted to tease her because he thought her reaction would be adorable, suddenly sensed danger—because an impulse surged within him to leave his mark on her pale, delicate skin.
Aside from her long hair tucked behind her ears, the only exposed part was her neck, yet he found himself recalling the brief sensation of her skin against his lips on their wedding night.
Am I really this sexually frustrated?
He quickly lowered his head, then raised it again.
“Let me know when you’re mentally ready. Until then, don’t count on my cooperation—that’s how you should see it.”
He turned away once more and strode briskly toward the bathroom.
Let’s at least inform each other of our schedules in advance. We can’t fully trust even the house staff, right? We need to appear as the perfect married couple even at home. If you cooperate well enough, I’ll show you exactly what being a supportive wife means.
That was what Seo Ah had told Ha Joon before their marriage.
Upon hearing those words, Ha Joon’s heart had raced uncontrollably—he’d always believed physical intimacy was the foundation of a marital relationship,
because he wanted a genuine marriage, not just for show.
He never intended to force himself on her if she didn’t want it—but no, actually, since they were married now, it should’ve been perfectly natural, so he’d tried not to dwell on it.
Yet, whether it was because she was too young or too tender, whenever he stood before her, he felt himself turning into a bad person… no, more like a beast.
All he could do was hope she’d open her heart to him soon—he was already struggling hard to hold back, after all.
That night,
Ha Joon went to his study again, while Seo Ah lay in bed lost in thought.
She couldn’t quite grasp what he meant by “I won’t cooperate.”
If rumors spread that their marriage was troubled, she’d suffer too—especially since they’d only been married for two days.
“Then, shall I fill it from someone else?”
Ha Joon’s words from earlier echoed in her mind like a haunting refrain.
She nearly wavered. He had once been her first love, and he still stirred her heart deeply.
But she couldn’t let herself be swayed so easily—not after what he’d done to her.
To steady herself, she recalled Valentine’s Day six years ago.
The day Ha Joon had looked at her with contempt—the very day she’d decided to study in France.
Back then, Seo Ah had made chocolates herself and even written a letter, which she’d asked Young Joo to deliver to Ha Joon.
Seo Ah and Young Joo were as close as real sisters—there was nothing they didn’t know about each other.
When Seo Ah was fifteen, she’d nearly died in a traffic accident, but Young Joo happened to save her and was seriously injured in the process. Ever since, Young Joo had lived with Seo Ah’s family as her live-in assistant and school companion, and they’d grown inseparable like blood sisters.
She’d thought giving it in person would’ve meant more, but she hadn’t had the courage to ask him out alone.
Just imagining him thanking her the next day—at her grandfather’s birthday banquet—had made Seo Ah feel as if her heart might burst.
Yet Ha Joon had seemed completely unchanged.
Even though he was usually cold when they were alone, in front of others he’d ask how she was, bring her food, and smile warmly—but never said the one thing she’d longed to hear.
Could Young Joo have failed to deliver it properly? If so, she would’ve told her beforehand. Seo Ah immediately sought out Young Joo and led her to a quiet corner of the banquet hall.
“Unnie, you did deliver it properly, right? He didn’t say anything else?”
“Well… I couldn’t meet him personally, so I gave it through his household staff. I thought it had been passed on just fine, but then this morning he called and said…”
Young Joo fidgeted nervously with her fingers and bit her lips anxiously.
“It’s okay, Unnie—just tell me honestly.”
“I did give it… but this morning, it was found untouched in the trash bin…”
What did I just hear? The trash bin?! Seo Ah’s pupils trembled uncontrollably.
“…You did tell him it was something I made myself, right?”
Young Joo made a pained face, and Seo Ah understood everything without another word.
My fiancé was trash.
She’d thought he simply didn’t know how to treat a girl—that his coldness when alone was just shyness, and that things would get better once they grew closer. But did he really hate her that much?!
Furious, she immediately confronted Ha Joon.
“How can you be so heartless? It wasn’t store-bought—I made it myself! How could you throw it away without even opening it? There was even a letter inside!”
Seo Ah spat out the words in a rapid burst—afraid her courage would vanish if she paused even for a second.
Caught off guard by her sudden outburst, Ha Joon glanced around warily. Even in this secluded spot, someone might overhear them.
“If you didn’t want to eat it, you could’ve given it to someone else. Or just told me you didn’t like it. Don’t act sweet in front of people and then…”
She froze mid-sentence.
He’d stepped closer and pressed his body against hers.

Startled by how near his face suddenly was, Seo Ah stepped back—but he followed.
She tried stepping back again, only to hit a dead-end wall.
Ha Joon placed one hand on the wall and gently held her slender shoulder with the other, then leaned down to whisper softly by her ear,
“Instead of wasting time on this, go memorize an extra English word or two. It’s embarrassing having a wife with an empty head.”
Seo Ah felt as if her heart had plummeted straight into her stomach.
Though wounded, she knew he spoke the truth.
A few months earlier, she’d accidentally overheard her parents talking:
“Seo Ah barely avoided last place again this time.”
“It’s not barely! She was just slightly below average…”
“We’ve waited long enough. That’s it—she’ll finish high school in France.”
“How can we send her all the way to France when she can’t even speak English well…?”
“She’ll learn if she has to.”
“I’ll persuade her properly. We’ll hire even more capable tutors…”
“If it really worries you, just send her with Young Joo. She adores her like an older sister anyway.”
Despite Hye Kyung’s objections, Jin Won hadn’t even blinked.
Seo Ah had wanted to prove herself—to show them how much she’d changed.
She’d wanted to become the perfect wife—someone worthy to stand beside the flawless Ha Joon.
At least, that’s how she felt—until she received a shocking revelation from Young Joo during her time studying in France.
The next morning.
Seo Ah’s eyes snapped open at the sound of her alarm.
Damn it. He must’ve changed his mind again.
Which meant Ha Joon hadn’t slept in the room last night either. She must’ve tossed and turned with too many thoughts and drifted off without realizing.
It was now 5:30 a.m.
Ha Joon had said he’d go to the annex gym for a workout and eat breakfast at 7.
She assumed she could just freshen up and head down,
but apparently not….
“Madam, you came down earlier than usual.”
Ha Joon was already eating breakfast—at only 6 a.m. A full hour earlier than normal.
“Don’t tell me you didn’t mention leaving early today, Young Master?”
“No! I came down early so I could eat with you.”
Seo Ah waved her hands dismissively.
Kang Ha Joon. So this is how you’re playing it? You think I’ll fall for this? Fine, let’s see!
“You looked tired—slept so peacefully, so I just came down.”
“We might as well eat together since we’re both here.”
Seo Ah took a seat, and Yeon Suk brought her a bowl of rice and soup, along with extra side dishes.
While eating, she casually asked about his schedule.
“Will you leave early tomorrow too? I’d like to help with breakfast, but you leave so early… and you know I’m quite a heavy sleeper.”
She added that extra explanation in case anyone was listening—it was exhausting pretending to be affectionate in public after his cold demeanor in private.
“I’ll be leaving at the normal time.”
Yet Ha Joon merely smiled leisurely, his lips curling up in amusement.
Seeing that, Seo Ah steadied her heart—which had wavered slightly the previous night.
“Hmm, what time will you be back today? If I can’t help with breakfast, I’d like to help with dinner at least.”
“I should be home by 6.”
She figured she’d need to learn his schedule this way from now on—without even this minimal exchange, the silence between them would become suffocating.
After breakfast, they headed up together to their second-floor bedroom.
The moment the door closed, Ha Joon stripped off his top and headed into the dressing room—startling Seo Ah, who quickly averted her eyes. Why does he keep undressing so casually?!
Just then, his voice called out from inside the dressing room.
“Shall I call a housemaid? Or will you help me yourself?”
Was he seriously going to summon a servant? How could anyone show their bare body so nonchalantly to others? Did he have some kind of exhibitionist tendencies?
Just as she was about to tell him to go ahead, the image of his unclothed form flashed before her eyes—and realizing that servants might have seen him like that made her head spin.

“I don’t have time—if you’re not going to help, I’ll just call a housemaid.”
Wait—if I’m already awake, it might seem odd for a servant to come assist him with dressing.
She marched determinedly into the dressing room, telling herself it was all part of demonstrating perfect wifely support.
But Ha Joon still hadn’t put on his shirt and was pulling on his pants—zipper not yet done. Seo Ah flinched and quickly looked away again, the memory of his fully exposed lower body from the previous night making her dizzy.
Ha Joon glanced sideways at her flushed reaction and a faint smile ghosted across his lips. He’d almost panicked at the thought of actually summoning a servant—it wasn’t something he wanted either.
“If you’re going to help, could you pick out a tie and some accessories?”
“Hmph. I did promise perfect support, so I’ll do it. Though I had no idea you’d be this high-maintenance.”
After checking the shirt and suit he’d selected, Seo Ah began choosing a tie and accessories.
“Does your mother not do this? Mine always does.”
She hesitated slightly. She’d never seen her parents do anything like this in their room—they were either too deep in sleep in the mornings or too busy playing in the evenings.
“Yes. My father always dresses himself.”
What do I care? My dad definitely dresses himself without help!
By then, Ha Joon had slipped on his shirt and was buttoning it up as he stepped in front of her.
The deep V of his open shirt revealed perfectly chiseled abs, making Seo Ah blush furiously. Why does he have to do this right in front of me?!
“Do you even know how to tie a tie?”
“O-of course I do!”
She’d learned during her bridal training—though she never expected he’d actually want her to do it.
Once Ha Joon finished buttoning his shirt and draped the tie around his neck, Seo Ah steeled herself against her trembling hands and began tying it.
But he was so tall—looking up from below, she couldn’t tell if it was coming out right. Afraid he’d mock her clumsy attempt, she rose onto her tiptoes to check…
and wobbled, knocking her head right into his chest.
She couldn’t push off with her hands, nor dangle helplessly from the tie to regain balance.
Most shocking of all—his large, warm hands had instantly wrapped around her waist.
Whether it was because his hands were big, her waist was slender, or both, they encircled her completely—then just as quickly withdrew, leaving only warmth behind.
“What have you been doing if you’re not growing taller?”
“…!!”
Seo Ah was utterly speechless.
Ha Joon had lifted her lightly by the waist and set her down on the accessory dresser.
Then, as he leaned closer, her knees nearly brushed against his legs—making her blush harder and squirm uncomfortably, terrified they might accidentally touch somewhere indecent. Yet she couldn’t even spread her legs!
Thankfully, he stopped just in time, bracing his arms on either side of her.
His face was now so close hers burned crimson, her heart pounding wildly.
“I’d rather not bend down.”
