Boiling Desire (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 13
Ha Joon was observing and feeling Seo Ah’s movements in real time.
Her breath, irregular at first as her body remained stiff, gradually softened as she slowly relaxed—finally, her breathing became calm.
About an hour must have passed.
He could roughly guess how much time had gone by, even without checking the clock—it was a habit ingrained in him, having always checked the time whether awake or asleep, even unconsciously while dozing off.
Insomnia had made lying still unbearable, so he used to work until exhaustion forced him to finally rely on sleeping pills to sleep.
Yet this time, lying still wasn’t boring at all. Though his body ached slightly from holding her on one side, that discomfort didn’t even feel like pain.
Afterward, she began moving little by little. Having slept curled up with both hands folded neatly over her chest, she now pressed her fists gently against her own chest, then couldn’t keep her hands still, fidgeting restlessly, and even shifted her legs slightly.
Because he’d kept his eyes open in the darkness, his vision gradually adjusted, and her features started becoming clearer. She wrinkled her nose—perhaps tickled by her hair brushing against her cheek—and looked unbearably adorable.
Gently, he brushed her hair behind her ear.
Had another hour passed like this?
Suddenly, she began pressing firmly against her own chest and abs with both palms—not fists.
What on earth was this? It wasn’t like a cat kneading dough or anything.
Then her pressure gradually grew stronger. Though still light compared to his own strength, she stretched her slender arms straight out, pressing as if trying to escape his embrace.
He felt a little disappointed, but figured she must’ve been uncomfortable lying in the same position for two hours.
Should he let her go? Or just pull her close again? He hesitated briefly.
Then, this time, she stretched her hips backward and started pressing his thighs firmly with her feet.
If only she’d kept hold of his upper body—but with her legs stretched straight out pressing away, he was helpless as she drifted farther from him.
But then—
Her feet kept moving higher?
Panicked, Ha Joon instinctively reached his hand toward his pants—
Just as her foot touched the back of his hand.
He’d nearly been caught—if he’d been just a moment slower, it would’ve been disastrous.
At that instant, Seo Ah, freed from Ha Joon’s arms, fully slipped away from him and now lay sideways across the bed, still pressing his thigh firmly with her feet.
Every morning, he’d seen her lying rotated 180 or 90 degrees in bed—but now he witnessed the process firsthand. So she slept like this even when someone was beside her, not just when alone. Did she knead her pillow when sleeping solo, too?
Then, seemingly worn out, her movements stopped.
“Huuu…”
Ha Joon let out a deep sigh without even realizing it.
He sat up slightly and pulled off his shirt, tossing it aside. He naturally ran hot, so even when wearing a shirt to sleep, he always ended up taking it off.
That’s why he usually slept shirtless—but tonight, knowing how flustered and restless she’d get seeing his bare chest, he’d worn it.
Because seeing her reaction would make his desire burn uncontrollably.
He’d only intended to get some fresh air, but her feet were still draped over one of his thighs, leaving him in an awkward spot.
Now that he looked closely, this was actually the first time he’d seen her feet up close like this. Were they really smaller than his hands, or was that just his imagination?
Suddenly, an urge to tickle her bubbled up. Her reaction would probably be unbearably cute.
Yet somehow, even though he’d only thought about it, his index finger had already moved toward the sole of her foot.
The moment it barely brushed her skin, Seo Ah flinched—and then it started again.
The kneading.
Damn it.
Seo Ah’s phone vibrated loudly—it was her alarm.
She struggled to open her eyes and reached out with one arm to find her phone, but since her body had rotated 180 degrees again, the phone was now at her feet.
But what was this warm, firm thing wrapped around one of her legs??
Startled, Seo Ah bolted upright.
Goodness gracious.
It was Ha Joon—and he’d been sleeping while hugging one of her legs. Her bare foot hovered precariously close to his cheek.
She’d always assumed her restless sleeping habits only showed when she was alone—how on earth had this happened?
Worse, he’d taken off his shirt. He’d definitely been wearing it to bed last night!
Anyway, how was she supposed to pull her leg away? Afraid he’d wake up and see the situation if she yanked it suddenly, she carefully began sliding it out.
But just then—
Ha Joon’s eyes snapped open.
Startled, Seo Ah instantly yanked her leg free and sprang up, snatching her still-vibrating phone.
It was the fastest she’d moved in her 23 years of life.

“Haa… What time is it?”
Thankfully, Ha Joon didn’t seem to remember the position he’d just been sleeping in.
“It’s 3:40. You should… you should go back to sleep. I’ll go wash up first.”
Ha Joon, who’d been washing his face, sat up on the edge of the bed.
This left them sitting back-to-back—and Seo Ah’s eyes widened at the sight of his bare, fiercely sculpted back muscles. Was that really a human back??
“Can you wash up by yourself?”
“Y-yes? Wait, what?”
As Seo Ah was still processing his question, Ha Joon turned around and looked at her—specifically at her right index finger.
“I’m asking if you can wash up by yourself with your hand like that.”
Seo Ah realized her mistake—but with no assistants around at this hour, she’d just have to manage somehow.
“I’m fine.”
“Fine, nothing. Come with me.”
Ha Joon stood and headed toward the shower room, leaving Seo Ah flustered and burning with embarrassment. She was supposed to shower, yet hadn’t even shown him her body in the dark bedroom—now he wanted her to undress under bright shower lights?!
Even if she skipped the shower, she still needed to wash her hair, and washing just her face wasn’t an option.
“What are you waiting for? We’ll be late.”
Hesitantly, Seo Ah quickly tied up her hair and shuffled into the shower room.
“I can do it myself. I just need to wash my face and rinse my hair.”
Wait—what if he thought she was being dirty for not showering? Worried, she added hastily,
“I usually shower every morning, but I really can’t today. You’re not seriously offering to help me shower…?”
Her voice trailed off. Ha Joon had just brushed her teeth with his toothbrush—already coated with toothpaste—against her teeth.
Even though he hadn’t used his hand, Seo Ah panicked and quickly snatched the toothbrush from him.
“You can brush your teeth with your left hand, right? Do you need help brushing, too?”
“No!”
Seo Ah turned to face the mirror and started brushing her teeth, and Ha Joon began brushing his as well—naturally also facing the mirror.
Yet Seo Ah kept catching herself glancing at his reflection without realizing it.
He was still shirtless, left hand tucked into his pants pocket, merely brushing his teeth—but his right arm and the connected chest muscles seemed vividly alive.
She’d imagined this before—before hearing the truth from Young Joo, back when she dreamed of a happy married life: the two of them standing side by side, brushing their teeth together.
In dramas, wives would lather shaving cream and shave their husbands—but since Ha Joon used an electric razor, that dream was impossible.
Unconsciously, she grew a little gloomy. Not only could she never shave him, but this moment wasn’t as happily perfect as she’d imagined. She was the only one feeling giddy.
Yet Ha Joon’s heart was pounding so violently it felt like it might burst.
He’d never intended to offer showering assistance—but the moment she mentioned showering, his heart went wild beyond control.
He tried hard to appear calm while wondering how he’d possibly help her bathe. He’d never bathed anyone before—hadn’t even imagined it.
After an awkward silence, they finished brushing separately. Ha Joon gently draped a towel around her neck.
Since she wasn’t showering, certain things shouldn’t get wet—and bending over while risking glimpses of her bare skin might turn him into a beast, which felt dangerously risky.
Soon, Seo Ah stood before the sink, leaning her upper body forward slightly, eyes tightly shut and lips firmly pressed together.
Ha Joon’s face flushed hotly at the sight—thankfully, she couldn’t see his expression.
Calming his trembling nerves, he wet his hand under the running water and gently stroked her face.
Her face was small, and his hand large—so one stroke covered her entire face.
Her skin, soft and delicate like silken tofu, clouded Ha Joon’s mind.
Afraid he might hurt her if he pressed too firmly, he didn’t know what to do.
After wetting her face two more times, he squeezed a bit of cleanser onto his palm and lathered it into foam.
Gently, he applied the foam to her cheeks—still tightly closed-eyed—using only his index and middle fingers to meticulously massage every corner.
It felt less like being washed and more like being gently coated—but Seo Ah wasn’t in any state to feel awkward about his touch. Her heart pounded so fiercely she could barely breathe.
Now Ha Joon’s movements grew slightly urgent. Before she could even feel ticklish, he quickly rinsed off the foam—worried her eyes might sting.
Needing to ensure no residue remained, he pressed a bit harder than before, carefully watching her reaction. If she frowned, it meant discomfort.
Thankfully, her expression didn’t change. She looked like a perfectly ripe plum—making him want to take a bite, though he forced himself to ignore the urge.
Then he recalled seeing volunteers help children blow their noses during bathing at a charity event—should he do that too? Hesitating, he finally spoke.
“Do you need to blow your nose?”
Flustered, Seo Ah shook her head vigorously. ‘Does he think I’m a child?!’ Though in Ha Joon’s eyes, she’d looked like one ever since she woke up.
“Do your eyes sting?”

His gentle tone made Seo Ah’s heart flutter wildly. Trying to appear nonchalant, she wiped her eyes dry with her left hand and opened them.
“I’m fine.”
But because she’d kept them tightly shut, a bit of sleep crust remained in the corner.
Without hesitation, Ha Joon used his thumb to wipe it away—and Seo Ah flinched, blushing furiously.
“Okay, let’s wash your hair. Come here.”
Ha Joon himself seemed flustered by his own actions—he cleared his throat awkwardly and stepped into the shower stall. Seo Ah untied her hair and approached, crouching down on the floor.
To Ha Joon, the sight was so adorably suffocating it made his head spin.
Soon, Seo Ah bent her head deeply forward, letting her long hair spill onto the floor, and Ha Joon carefully wet it with the showerhead.
“You can do it roughly—it’s fine.”
“Tell me if it hurts or feels uncomfortable.”
But what if it did? He was touching her so gently it didn’t hurt—but it *was* uncomfortable. It had been uncomfortable all along, from the very beginning! Yet Seo Ah couldn’t possibly say that aloud.
Awkward and embarrassed as it was, she couldn’t deny it felt good. She’d never imagined this while dreaming of a happy marriage—it felt like a dream in itself.
After a long, tumultuous effort, he finally finished washing her hair—and both of them ended up soaked, clothes drenched.
Ha Joon brought a large towel and wrapped it around her body, leaving Seo Ah unsure where to look.
Since Ha Joon was shirtless, his wet, bare chest stood right before her eyes.
At that moment, a single drop of water rolled down the sculpted ridges of his muscles—forcing her to avert her gaze.
But just as she thought they’d leave now, Ha Joon undid the towel wrapped around her head and began gently squeezing water from her hair.
“I-I’ll do it now.”
“How long will it take you to dry it with one hand? You’ll miss your flight.”
“It’s not touching water—I can use my right hand too.”
“If you want your cut finger to heal fast, stay still. The less you move it, the quicker the skin will close. That way, you won’t need more antiseptic—and I won’t have to wash you again.”
That made sense—but if he was going to be considerate, why stand right in front of her instead of behind?
Overwhelmed by the sight of his vividly moving muscles right before her eyes, Seo Ah squeezed her eyes shut tightly.
