A Light Contract (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 7
“So our team leader’s ex-lover is Pianist Oh Se Jin?”
“Yes, I can’t even tell you how shocked I was.”
“So that’s why she always seemed a bit stiff whenever he was around.”
Team Leader Jung looked as if a lingering doubt had finally been resolved—the last piece of the puzzle clicking into place.
To Team Leader Jung, Yura usually appeared somewhat cold-faced, but whenever dealing with performers, she always responded with a gentle smile.
However, from the moment Oh Se Jin first appeared, Yura’s expression hadn’t looked good at all, so Team Leader Jung had been closely observing their interactions.
“I also finally understood why Team Leader’s expression had been so unpleasant once I found out the truth.”
“It was the first time I’d ever seen her stiffen up like that—even when dealing with the most difficult performers, she never showed any displeasure before.”
Hearing Ji Hye add this comment made Team Leader Jung even more worried, realizing she wasn’t the only one who’d noticed.
Yura was someone who never let personal feelings interfere with work; if even other staff members had picked up on it, that meant their relationship wasn’t just casually awkward—it suggested this performance preparation might turn out to be quite difficult.
“Will this performance really be okay?”
It was a natural concern, and now it surfaced through Ji Hye’s words. Everyone shared the same worry, and for a moment, silence fell over the office. But it didn’t last long—Sung Hoon broke the quiet with a dismissive “Ah—” and a wave of his hand.
“What do you mean? Our team leader’s handled way worse than this. She’s overcome countless difficult cases already.”
“But a problematic client and an ex-boyfriend aren’t the same thing.”
“Either way, he’s still just a troublemaker.”
Sung Hoon and Eun Young continued their conversation as if defining what “problematic” really meant. Listening calmly, Team Leader Jung found herself agreeing with their perspective.
After all, whether this troublemaker or that troublemaker—they were all just troublemakers. She trusted Team Leader Jin Yoo Ra, whom she deeply respected, to handle this challenge well, even if it proved a bit tough.
“Why did they break up, I wonder?”
Interrupting Team Leader Jung’s thoughts, Ji Hye voiced yet another question. Ji Hye was especially curious about Yura. Facing yet another of her usual inquiries, Team Leader Jung replied casually.
“When two people get together, how could there ever be just one or two reasons they might part?”
“That’s true. Honestly, our team leader seems like such a waste right now.”
“Of course she does—she’s unmatched in both ability and looks.”
Everyone proudly chirped in like fledglings boasting about their own mother. Anyone who’d ever worked with Yura would surely understand.
Yura was decisive and meticulous in handling work—truly a born talent whose results always spoke for themselves.
As long as people stayed polite and didn’t botch their duties, she never got upset over minor things. On the contrary, outside of work, she was remarkably thoughtful and considerate, even about small details.
And that wasn’t all—whenever she wielded the whip, she always offered an equally generous carrot. She never neglected anyone she’d worked with, not even part-timers or freelancers.
Hence the saying: there were people who’d never joined a performance Yura oversaw, but absolutely no one who’d participated only once.
Just as small groups chatted about Yura and Se Jin, the office phone rang, prompting Team Leader Jung to put a full stop to the idle gossip.
[This is the timeline separator]With a deeply furrowed brow, Yoo Gun glared into empty space.
His father had intended to give him an early heads-up about finding out Yura’s suitor—but again, he couldn’t get through, making Yoo Gun increasingly anxious. And then, hearing infuriating news, his nerves sharpened instantly.
Oh Se Jin—already unwelcome for suddenly reappearing and lingering around Yura—was now making moves that felt deliberately aimed at entangling her privately, testing Yoo Gun’s patience to its limits.
Naturally, his patience ran out quickly. Convinced he could no longer leave things to Yura alone, Yoo Gun summoned Secretary Park.
“Secretary Park.”
“Yes?”
“Please look into Oh Se Jin for me.”
Ever since Yura’s breakup years ago, Yoo Gun had periodically ordered investigations into her surroundings—with explicit instructions to pay special attention to Oh Se Jin. Recently, he’d even been informed that Oh Se Jin had returned to Korea and encountered Jin Yoo Ra.
“You mean Pianist Oh Se Jin, as previously reported?”
“Yes.”
“Which aspects specifically?”
“Everything you can find—preferably discreet, personal details.”
“Understood.”
Yoo Gun then added one more request.
“And please locate CEO Baek of Songrim right away.”
“Yes.”
Recognizing the obvious connection, Secretary Park accepted the instruction without further questions. Just then, a knock sounded, and the office door opened to reveal a familiar figure.
“Something I shouldn’t hear?”
The sharp-eyed man directing his gaze at both of them was none other than Baek Lee Hyun, Yoo Gun’s closest friend and Vice President of CH Group.
“Hello.”
“So? Should I wait outside?”
Trending
“No. Secretary Park, you may leave.”
Secretary Park instantly grasped why Vice President Baek—someone who rarely visited the office—had shown up.
Their private meetings always took place in the upscale bar at Grand Garden Hotel, a CH affiliate, making office encounters extremely rare.
And especially an unannounced visit like this? There was only one possible reason: something involving Yoo Gun’s younger sister, Jin Yoo Ra. Having just received instructions concerning her, Secretary Park was certain that was the reason for this meeting.
No words were exchanged between the two men until Secretary Park bowed respectfully and left—clearly signaling that this conversation was for no one else’s ears.
[This is the timeline separator]Once they settled side by side into the driver’s and passenger seats, Yura preemptively shut down any attempt by Se Jin to overstep by giving a curt, businesslike warning.
“I’m sorry, but I’d like to keep the drive quiet. I tend to get sensitive when I’m driving.”
“Yes, understood.”
Se Jin, whose mood had shifted noticeably from just moments ago, remained silent throughout the ride to the practice room, staring out the window.
The idea of driving Se Jin to the practice room just like old times made Yura’s stomach churn.
It felt ridiculous—like she was repeating that madness all over again. Although it wasn’t the same car as back then, the feeling that she still hadn’t escaped that period weighed heavily on her mood.
Unwanted memories she’d tried hard to suppress now forced their way into her mind.
Back then, she’d been frantic after several days without proper contact from Se Jin. He’d stopped answering calls and only sent brief texts—until a mutual acquaintance unexpectedly called.
“Ah, hello?”
—”Yura, did Se Jin move out?”
“What? Move out?”
Though he’d often texted saying he was busy, he’d never mentioned moving.
—”You don’t know either? His phone’s unreachable, and his apartment’s empty.”
“W-wait, what do you…”
—”His voice sounded awful yesterday, so I went over—but the place was empty. The landlord said he packed up and left in a hurry this morning. What on earth happened…?”
“I-I’ll call you back shortly.”
She hadn’t contacted him herself that day—she’d been too overwhelmed. Though dark thoughts crowded her mind, she refused to believe the worst and didn’t even pull over—just immediately dialed Se Jin. All she heard was a short robotic tone indicating the number no longer existed.
At that exact moment, Yura’s vision blurred, her grip on the wheel slipped, and she crashed alone into the guardrail. A deafening crash ripped through her ears just as the navigation voice announced:
『You have arrived at your destination. Guidance ended.』
Jolted back to the present by the mechanical voice, Yura emerged from the memory.
[This is the timeline separator]As the office door closed with a dull thud, Lee Hyun—who’d been watching Secretary Park’s departure—turned toward Yoo Gun.
“You’re giving off serious low-pressure vibes.”
Annoyed, Yoo Gun rubbed his face wearily and frowned, revealing his agitation.
“Do you know where CEO Baek is?”
“Why CEO Baek?”
“Do you know or not?”
“He’s probably somewhere.”
“Tch.”
Watching Lee Hyun answer nonchalantly as he sat down on the sofa, Yoo Gun clicked his tongue in displeasure. Helpless and unable to act immediately, his frustration only deepened.
“Is this about Oh Se Jin?”
Crossing his legs elegantly on the sofa, Lee Hyun’s question made Yoo Gun sigh in exasperation as he tugged his tie and sat opposite him. Lee Hyun’s hand, resting on his thigh, tapped rhythmically—a small habit he displayed only when deep in thought or intrigued. After more than twenty years of friendship, even such minor quirks were instantly recognizable to Yoo Gun.
“Seriously, your intel network is insane.”
Baek Lee Hyun, a key figure within the powerful CH Group, possessed information-gathering abilities beyond imagination—or perhaps it was simply his exceptional talent for collecting intel. Either way, it was impressive.
With keen eyes and sharp judgment, Lee Hyun never missed even the tiniest detail. He sifted through vast amounts of information to uncover hidden gems—or someone’s weaknesses. Oh Se Jin was undoubtedly just one such piece among many.
“Do you know why Oh Se Jin came back?”
Lee Hyun stopped tapping his thigh and let out a faint chuckle.
“My intel doesn’t include mind-reading.”
“You lunatic.”
Getting no useful answers even from Lee Hyun made Yoo Gun even more frustrated. He leaned back against the sofa, staring at the white ceiling as he muttered to himself.
“I was really going to make him regret it this time.”
“Then why didn’t you?”
“Because Jin Yoo Ra declared him her assigned artist—so I can’t even touch him.”
“Assigned artist.”

Lee Hyun slowly repeated Yoo Gun’s words, sounding dissatisfied. Knowing his friend felt about Yura much as he himself did, Yoo Gun straightened up, finally voicing the resentment he’d been holding in.
“It’s completely irrational. Why on earth would she plan a performance with that lunatic?”
“But she always separates work and personal feelings perfectly—our Team Leader Jin does.”
Hearing Lee Hyun’s tone subtly praise his younger sister, Yoo Gun’s mood instantly lifted—though only briefly. Soon after, he leaned forward again, venting his frustration as if he’d finally found an ally.
“But what can Yura do if that lunatic refuses to cooperate?”
“Did something happen?”
Lee Hyun, usually indifferent to matters unrelated to business, now showed genuine curiosity. Seizing the chance, Yoo Gun leaned toward him, ready to unload everything he’d kept bottled up.
“I couldn’t reach her, so I called the office—and they’d gone out together, just the two of them.”
“So what if they went out together?”
Seeing Lee Hyun’s dismissive reaction, Yoo Gun squeezed his eyes shut and shook his head. Like a detective zeroing in, he leaned even closer, his narrowed eyes glinting.
“The atmosphere was off. Yura stayed completely stiff-faced the whole time, while Oh Se Jin kept grinning smugly.”
Lee Hyun’s expression instantly turned icy-cold.
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
