49 Times Left, Master! (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 240
The household maids of Lin Hwa in Uhwejeon did their utmost to suppress rumors about Nan Gyun.
The moment even a hint of talk about Nan Gyun or the Ninth Hwang Nyeo’s new fiancé arose, they raised their voices loudly.
Ever since Wolchae disappeared because of her, Lin Hwa had lost half her vigor and grown more lenient toward her household maids.
Thus, she didn’t scold them even when they suddenly shouted loudly, and it seemed the secret would be maintained for quite some time.
But the one who had placed Nan Gyun as a candidate for imperial son-in-law had no intention of preserving this quiet peace.
When all the consorts gathered to pay their respects to the Empress, Yeon Bi asked in a soft, coaxing voice, “Your Majesty, have you chosen the Ninth Hwang Nyeo’s fiancé? I heard there are two or three outstanding candidates.”
Lin Hwa couldn’t care less whether the Ninth Hwang Nyeo got engaged or not, now that she’d parted ways with Seon An. She let the conversation wash over her as she quietly sipped her tea.
“I haven’t made up my mind yet. There truly is no man quite like Seon An.”
“But that young lord has issues with his maternal family. It’s better to choose another outstanding youth, even if slightly less suitable, than to bring in someone who might cause trouble.”
“You’re right. That’s why this time, we’re thoroughly checking even distant relatives. For now, a young lord named Nan Gyun seems the best among them.”
Lin Hwa reacted the moment she heard Nan Gyun’s name. She nearly dropped her teacup as she set it down.
When a loud clatter rang out between the cup and the table, the Empress lifted the corners of her mouth.
“Does anyone among you know anything about the Nan family or Nan Gyun himself? If you’ve heard good rumors or bad, do speak up.”
Lin Hwa covered her mouth with a handkerchief and lowered her gaze. Her heart pounded fiercely.
Nan Gyun? Could Nan Gyun really become the Ninth Hwang Nyeo’s new fiancé?

Male lead is a Divorced Husband
She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!

This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”

That’s a blessing ML is smart and the situation is probably will be resolved quickly, otherwise I would’ve rage flip because of that never ending misunderstandings.
I hoped that after main story ending they finally will stop that habit of lying in every little thing, it’s a pity I expected too much 🫠
I can understand ML’s jealousy, but really, why not to let his wifey pay her karmic debt and then live happily ever after?
