“Still not fixed yet?”

Calon found himself speaking in an irritated tone without even realizing it. At his attitude, Nisha shrugged her shoulders as if to say she understood—but also that there was nothing she could do about it.

“Please don’t be so upset. Saren is doing her very best.”

At Nisha’s words, Calon ran a hand down his face.

Saren was a diligent person. Ever since the communication network had malfunctioned again, she’d probably been working on repairs without even sleeping.

And yet, despite knowing that, he’d still snapped in frustration.

“And rather than ‘still,’ perhaps ‘again’ would be a more accurate way to put it.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“Well, actually, the restoration was progressing smoothly until early this morning. But from dawn onward, things started deteriorating again.”

As he listened to Nisha, Calon thought of the communication network located beneath the guild headquarters.

Over the past few years, it had occasionally caused minor inconveniences, but never anything serious enough to disrupt operations. So why had it suddenly started malfunctioning so frequently lately?

‘And always precisely when Ael and I come to the capital, too.’

Calon lifted his head and looked toward the theater’s staircase.

He’d visited this place just two days ago for the opening ceremony.
