“Is everyone here?”

“Yes, they’re all waiting.”

Gibnen, who had just dropped Riley off at the mansion, immediately returned to Horizon and headed straight for the academy.

Thanks to Sak having faithfully carried out his earlier order to summon the academy’s executives in advance, Gibnen only needed to walk to the meeting room.

Seven councilors had gathered in the meeting room.

Also present was Rivne, a student currently enrolled at the academy and recently appointed as a provisional councilor of Horizon Academy.

When Gibnen entered the meeting room with Sak, all councilors except Rivne rose immediately to greet him. Rivne alone sat with her arms crossed, wearing a dissatisfied expression and glaring at him.

‘What on earth is he up to?’

Rivne distrusted Gibnen,

‘Why on earth did he call this council meeting?’

The councilors were tense, straining to discern Gibnen’s true intentions.

And for good reason—the academy was among Horizon’s most independently minded affiliated institutions, and thanks to Rivne’s presence there, Gibnen, as the overall head of the Mage Tower, rarely interacted with them.

Aside from approving final proposals that had already passed through proper deliberation, Gibnen seldom had any dealings with the academy. Likewise, Gibnen himself had shown little interest in the academy.

Even at the last Mage Tower Lord inauguration reception, they had exchanged only brief greetings.

In truth, this was the first meeting arranged since Gibnen assumed the position of Mage Tower Lord.
