“Is the food prep finished?”

When Amy stopped by the kitchen to check on progress, the chef nodded solemnly. Piles of various meats and neatly prepared vegetables filled a corner of the kitchen. The women from the village hired for the banquet also looked utterly determined.

After confirming everything was proceeding exactly as instructed, Amy stepped outside, satisfied. Melburn, who had been waiting by the door, followed closely behind her.

“Are all the guest rooms ready?”

“Yes. We’ve changed the sheets and finished washing the curtains and tapestries. We’ve also stacked plenty of firewood, so we can provide hot water at any time.”

“What about the smithy? We’ll need to tend to the horseshoes of the guests’ horses.”

“I checked it myself. No issues.”

“And the stables? They’ve been thoroughly cleaned, I assume?”

“Of course.”

A look of satisfaction crossed Amy’s face. Despite the long period without a master, every servant in the ducal manor remained sharp and efficient. Among them, Melburn was especially skilled at managing staff effectively.

‘At this rate, we could even rival the imperial palace’s servants.’

Hope blossomed in Amy’s heart that this banquet would be a great success. If things continued like this, Noah would firmly establish himself as the Grand Duke of the North.

But just then, something happened that shattered Amy’s smile. A sentry came running with urgent news—truly devastating tidings as shocking as a bolt from the blue.

“A-A messenger just arrived! His Royal Highness the Crown Prince is on his way to the North!”

Panic swept through the ducal manor.
