Ga Eul couldn’t hold onto the President. Leaving only a single phone call behind, the President had already flown off to the United States.

When asked why he was going, the President said he’d explain everything in detail once he returned; when asked when he’d be back, he replied that he wouldn’t know until he actually went. It was an answer she’d expected—utterly uninformative.

Ga Eul vaguely suspected the President’s trip to the U.S. was somehow connected to what Yang Gi Tae had been doing in the kitchen of that traditional Korean restaurant, but she had no concrete evidence.

Still, since he *would* be coming back eventually, Ga Eul silently saw him off with goodwill—though that didn’t mean she wasn’t irritated by his habit of never giving clear, straightforward answers.

At first, her longing to see him outweighed her annoyance. So every time she wore clothes the President had bought her, she took photos and sent them to him.

Gradually, however, her irritation grew stronger. Ga Eul began deliberately styling those outfits in the most provocative ways possible before snapping photos. She then sent them to the President, mixing the defiant message *“Go ahead, take a taste!”* with the self-assured declaration *“I’m perfectly fine without you.”*

Dae Woon showed absolutely no reaction. Frustrated and provoked, Ga Eul escalated—now sending photos of herself striking all kinds of seductive poses at random times, even *without* wearing the clothes he’d bought her. She even studied poses by watching movies and flipping through magazines—all for his sake.

Thanks to Dae Woon’s prolonged absence, the office became Ga Eul’s personal domain. Whenever she had no classes, she spent her time there.

It was even better than the library—no risk of running into anyone who knew her, and if she got tired, she could simply lie down on the sofa and listen to music.

Jo Yu Ri occasionally dropped by, too. Today, as usual, she arrived carrying a bag of food.

“Life is total crap.”

Jo Yu Ri plopped the plastic bag onto the table and collapsed onto the sofa.

“Why?”

Ga Eul rose from her desk and sat down opposite Jo Yu Ri.

“Don’t you know anyone involved in a big scandal? The bigger, the better.”
