After finishing the meal and stepping out of the restaurant, Go Ye Rim followed.

“Han Ga Eul, may I speak with you for a moment?”

Ga Eul told Woo Jin to wait in the car first, then followed where Go Ye Rim led.

“That night, you witnessed my ugliest side, so I won’t beat around the bush. I like Gi Dae Woong. I’ve liked him for a long time—since we met in the U.S. And now, I won’t waste time talking about playing fair or anything like that.”

Right. It’s far too late for that sort of talk, now that I’ve seen your true colors.

“I still haven’t given up on Gi Dae Woong.”

“I see. But why should I need to know that?”

“You seem so calm. Though I wonder how long that calm will last. I just heard that Kang Se Ra is coming back to Korea. You know who Kang Se Ra is, right? Dae Woon couldn’t possibly have kept her a secret—she’s someone he truly cherishes. No one else even comes close to her.”

So this was what Woo Jin had meant—approaching with a pleasant face, whispering insinuations, planting seeds of doubt and anxiety in one’s heart.

There’s a difference between *not playing fair* and *playing dirty*. Go Ye Rim, you played dirty.

“I heard Kang Se Ra was Gi Dae Woong’s fiancée. So all this time, you’ve been harboring feelings for a man who already had a fiancée. Thank you for letting me know Kang Se Ra is returning—I think I have something to say to her myself, since there are things I’ve seen.”

*This* is what not playing fair looks like.

Watching Go Ye Rim’s face flush red, Ga Eul added:

“I’m keeping a close eye on the ads put out by Heungsan Savings Bank—I subscribe to the Hansung Ilbo, after all.”

Ga Eul gave a slight, knowing smile.
