Yet, life rarely goes the way one wishes. If it did, Ga Eul’s father would not have passed away—let alone his business collapsing. Things spiraled out of control partly thanks to that accursed President meddling in the affair.

“Darling, please stop this and let’s go home to talk. Don’t sober up and regret it later. After putting up with so much until now, why act like this?”

Young Min’s Mother desperately tried pulling her husband back. That was when Dae Woon stepped in—or, to quote Ga Eul’s assessment, “unnecessarily.”

Dae Woon did not consider his interference pointless.

He clearly saw Young Min’s Mother signaling Ga Eul not to speak. He also noticed Ga Eul, upon receiving that signal, change her mind and decide to stay silent.

“This seems to have nothing to do with Han Ga Eul—you two should resolve it yourselves.”

So he intervened. To him, Han Ga Eul seemed incapable of handling even her own affairs—just another polished surface hiding incompetence—and he wanted to expose her pathetic attempt to sweep things under the rug, especially since, in his view, only Han Ga Eul stood to suffer from such a cover-up.

“What the hell? Who do you think you are, butting in like this since earlier?”

Forgetting the pain in his arm, Young Min’s Father lunged at Dae Woon. At that moment, Dae Woon made his decision: let himself take one punch. It would serve as a shackle for Young Min’s Father—and Dae Woon would ensure it stuck. Thus, he deliberately provoked him.

“Me? I’m the President of this office where you’re causing a scene. You got swindled because you’re incompetent, and now you’re lashing out? With you in this state, what kind of example do you think your son learned from?”

Before he even finished speaking, Dae Woon saw stars in broad daylight. Excruciating pain shot through his left jaw. Underestimating his opponent and willingly taking a hit had been a mistake—Young Min’s Father clearly earned his living through physical labor, and his fist hit like a hammer.

“President!”

“Young Min’s Father!”

Dae Woon raised his hand to stop Ga Eul, who rushed toward him to check his jaw, and shouted:

“Han Ga Eul, call the police. This is trespassing and assault.”

Instantly, the commotion settled. Young Min’s Father fell silent, seemingly startled by his own actions. Dae Woon thought taking the punch had been wise—after all, there was a reason why self-harm threats existed.

“Shall we go to the police, or talk here?”

Gritting through the pain, Dae Woon asked. Seeing Young Min’s Mother’s guilty, fidgeting expression, he guessed she was about to confess. Still, he felt no sympathy for her.

“Fine, let’s talk. I intend to get my money back. I’ve been lenient because you’re a pitiful orphan, and now you stab me in the back? Alright then, let’s do it. Hand over my money. Until I get it, I won’t budge an inch from here.”

As Young Min’s Father collapsed onto the sofa, his wife’s face turned ghostly pale.

“Just confess already. You can’t hide it much longer anyway.”

Dae Woon coldly nudged Young Min’s Mother. Clearly, she was the one burdened with guilt.

Meanwhile, she planned to sacrifice her child—who was struggling to survive on their own—to save herself. Naturally, no warmth would come from Dae Woon, who had made that judgment.

“Uncle, please go home and listen to what Auntie has to say. If you just listen…”

“You sit down too. Don’t meddle where it’s none of your business and overstep your bounds.”

Dae Woon snapped at Ga Eul as well, who had tried to intervene. Ga Eul seated Young Min’s Mother and then sat beside her.

“How much was the borrowed amount?”

Once everyone settled, Dae Woon took charge of the conversation.

“Why should you repay it? What relation do you have with Han Ga Eul? Are you her boyfriend or something?”

“Sir, watch your words. You’re currently causing a disturbance in my workplace. Regardless of how upset you may be, please stop demeaning yourself further.”

“What? You’re accusing me of causing a disturbance? Well then, you must be quite something.”

Young Min’s Father rose from his seat, seemingly ready to grab Ga Eul at any moment.

“Darling, calm down. Ga Eul, I’m sorry. He’s not himself right now—Young Min got into an accident.”

“I’ve already heard. Young Min took your car and got into a crash.”

In this small neighborhood, rumors spread fast—longtime residents knew everything about one another.

“Yes, you probably heard. Since Young Min and Gyeo Wool are in the same class, and the victim refuses to settle. That’s why he got so upset, drank at noon, and then…”

Young Min’s Mother turned sideways and fidgeted with her hands—her anxiety was obvious.

“Wasn’t the accident also caused by Young Min’s Mother?”

To cut through the evasiveness, Dae Woon pressed the question—and Young Min’s Mother jumped. She looked at Ga Eul with trembling eyes, as if asking whether Ga Eul had revealed her secret. Ga Eul shook her head vigorously; she seemed just as startled by Dae Woon’s remark.

“Han Ga Eul, bring a hangover remedy.”

Thinking that Young Min’s Father, oddly enough, might be the one needing sympathy, Dae Woon instructed Ga Eul. Judging by Young Min’s Mother’s near-tearful expression, the man across from him was about to suffer quite a blow.

Ga Eul quickly fetched the remedy and placed it in front of Young Min’s Father.

“D-darling… I-I…”

Watching her husband drink the remedy, Young Min’s Mother seemed to steel herself—and then began speaking, resolve clear in her voice:

“I heard from the association… the treasurer took the group funds and ran off. So…”

“What?”

Young Min’s Father’s eyes widened furiously.

So, to cover that loss, she secretly accepted repayment from Ga Eul—money originally borrowed for her husband—and invested it in stocks. As a result, she lost it all, leaving only an empty account.

Dae Woon glanced sideways at Ga Eul beside him, wondering what role she’d played in this chaotic mess.

“This, this woman…!”

Unable to contain his rage, Young Min’s Father stood and swung his arm.

“Ah! Darling!”

“Sir!”

Unlike Dae Woon, who stood by impassively as Young Min’s Mother was struck, Ga Eul reacted swiftly—she wrapped her arms around Young Min’s Mother, shielding her.

“Get out of the way.”

Young Min’s Father grabbed Ga Eul by the neck and threw her aside before Dae Woon could intervene. Ga Eul’s body flew through the air and crumpled under the desk with a thud—she appeared to have hit her head.

“Ga Eul!”

“Han Ga Eul!”

The last sounds Ga Eul heard before losing consciousness. They say a barking dog doesn’t bite—but apparently, even if it doesn’t bite, it’ll still throw you. That was Ga Eul’s final thought before everything went black.

* * *

Rushed to the hospital in the President’s supercar, Ga Eul awoke in the ER. The first face she saw upon opening her eyes was Gi Dae Woong’s. His expression was rigid and stiff.

“President.”

Noticing the blue curtain behind Dae Woon, Ga Eul realized she was no longer in the office and spoke up—though her voice came out hoarse, as if her throat had tightened.

“Oh, you’re awake? Wait a moment—I’ll call the doctor.”

Dae Woon abruptly stood and stepped outside the curtain. He was relieved, honestly—he needed an excuse to escape; his chest felt heavy and burning.

‘Woo Jin, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, Woo Jin.’

Even unconscious, Ga Eul searched for Woo Jin.

“You expect me to just ‘wrap things up with Woo Jin’? Like hell.”

Dae Woon’s lips twisted bitterly.

For her part, Ga Eul felt disappointed by Dae Woon’s abrupt departure.

Her subordinate nearly died, and he couldn’t even muster a little kindness? Couldn’t he at least say, “I’m glad you’re awake”? Or, “I was terrified thinking you might die…” Or even, “If you died, I’d follow you…”—Wait, maybe that last one was going too far?

Meanwhile, memories of what had happened before she blacked out returned in full.

Including the President shouting her name like a desperate cry. Now that she thought about it, the first expression she saw upon regaining consciousness—his face—had looked grave. His eyes seemed unusually deep, almost frightening. Though perhaps that was just a gut feeling.

Shortly after, Dae Woon returned with the doctor.

“Fortunately, there’s no fracture or cerebral hemorrhage. The laceration has been stitched…”

The doctor spoke while reviewing the CT scan results.

“Then can I be discharged?”

Ga Eul blurted out. Hearing there was no major issue, her worry instantly shifted to medical costs.

“No.”

The doctor’s reply was immediate and firm.

“Even if you feel fine now, symptoms could emerge later. For observation, it’s best you stay hospitalized for at least today.”

“We’ll do that.”

“But I’m perfectly fine. If any symptoms appear, I’ll come back—I live very close to here.”

Ga Eul quickly cut off Dae Woon, who’d recklessly stepped in without knowing the full situation. To prove she didn’t need hospitalization, she spoke extra clearly and brightly.

She also had tutoring scheduled for today. Since payment was per session, missing one would delay her income.

Like tightly interlocked gears, money had to come in exactly on schedule to meet repayment deadlines. The poor couldn’t afford the luxury of lying around, sick.

“Even if you feel okay now, sudden symptoms like headache or vomiting may occur—you might even lose consciousness again.”

“I’ll be hospitalized.”

Ga Eul dug her nails hard into Dae Woon’s arm as he gave an answer contrary to her wishes. She’d only meant to grab him, but urgency made her grip painfully tight—How dare he meddle without knowing anything? This wasn’t his place to decide.

“It seems the patient’s condition is, in fact, unstable.”

Matching the firmness of her pinch, Dae Woon stated decisively.

Faced with his unwavering stance, Ga Eul had no choice but to accept reality. Once moved to the ward, a headache—just as the doctor warned—did indeed develop. With treatment fees and now hospitalization costs piling up, even a nonexistent headache would surely materialize. And what about today’s lost tutoring income?

“President.”

“You secretly invested in stocks, didn’t you?”

Just as she prepared to protest—Why did he intervene so recklessly? Why make her spend unnecessary money?—he struck first. He already knew. Ga Eul clammed up.

“And you copied what I did after spying on me, didn’t you?”

“Ah, my head… Why does it ache so much?”

Avoiding his gaze, Ga Eul lay back down. Now that she thought about it, the stitched area throbbed—probably the painkiller wearing off. She grimaced and shut her eyes. For now, dodging the storm felt like the best strategy.

“You told Young Min’s Mother you’d help recover the money she lost in stocks, didn’t you?”

Persistent. Cold-blooded. Did he really have to interrogate a hospitalized patient who’d just received fifteen stitches on her head?

“Do you even think before acting? What audacity made you push Young Min’s Mother into stock investing? You’re a ‘Joorini’—a total novice who doesn’t even know the ‘Joo’ in ‘Jusik’!”

Even lying with eyes closed, Ga Eul couldn’t escape his barrage. She had no choice but to open her eyes and reply:

“I didn’t push her. She asked me to consider the money she took from me—money she lost in stocks—as still unpaid to her husband, at least until she could repay it. She said he’d kill her if he found out.”

“So instead, you suggested *more* stocks to someone who’d just lost money in them? Are you—”

“What else could she do? She said he’d literally kill her—‘die or faint,’ as they say. How was she supposed to earn that money back? She’d be lucky not to get scammed. She had no choice—she had to clutch at straws.”

“So you spied on me and copied what I did?”

“Spy? You left your computer on all day—it just appeared in front of my eyes. When I mimicked what you did, I actually made money. You’re just lucky, President.”

Lucky? *Me?* Dae Woon stared at Ga Eul, flabbergasted—his idle browsing of brokerage sites in the office to kill boredom had turned out to be the root of all this.

“You did it too?”

He doubted she’d encouraged only Young Min’s Mother.

“Well, if a money-making chance lands right in front of you, would you just let it slip?”

Ga Eul replied with unshakable confidence. A formidable opponent. Dae Woon clicked his tongue inwardly. *Truly,* he thought, *the one riding on my back is the real winner here.*

Regret With All Your Might (Completed Main Story)

27/12/2025
Side Story 5 Side Story 4

When yandere male lead believes she loves him — but she never did

“How dare you!”

“How dare you make me love you, only to cast me aside as nothing more than a friend?!?

“I will never accept that.”

“I will never let you return to him.”

“Even if I have to burn myself to ashes.”

“Even if I must shatter my purity, my dignity, my very soul.”

“I will never let you escape me!”

This was the first novel that introduced me to the matriarchal genre. I’ve read it three times already!

At first, the male lead despised the female lead. Later, he misunderstood that she liked him, so he condescendingly and reluctantly reciprocated her feelings.

Then, he suddenly discovered that she was kind to everyone in the same way, and there was already someone she cherished in her heart, and that person was not him.

The male lead couldn’t believe it, he became angry and crazy. He was determined to capture her body and heart by any means necessary.

Synopsis:

Want to see how a green tea bitch male lead falls in love with the female lead?

Want to see how he flirtatiously pursues the female lead?

Want to see how he gets slapped in the face repeatedly?

The male lead is a green tea bitch, a poisonous lotus, jealous, ruthless, unscrupulous, with a venomous heart, and he’s also a delusional maniac.

The female lead is righteous, positive energy-filled, kind, a holy mother.

Let’s see how two people with extreme personalities come together~

You’re bound to regret it if you skip this novel. Read the review & spoiler to find out what you might be missing!
