Ga Eul’s voice caught in her throat as she spoke of her deceased parents, and she quickly stopped talking.

“Are you absolutely certain your father transferred the land in Pyeongan but never received payment for it?”

“Yes. Had that money existed, he wouldn’t have left debts unpaid—creditors wouldn’t have stood for it.”

Chairman Oh listened to Ga Eul’s words while gazing into the air. After a long pause, he finally spoke.

“I’ll look into the details myself. So that land was meant for building a botanical garden for Sung Yeon… Sung Yeon’s land, you say…”

Chairman Oh muttered the same phrase several times. He seemed so lost in his own thoughts that he’d forgotten Ga Eul was still there.

Ga Eul quietly rose from her seat.

“Please make sure my father suffers no injustice.”

Leaving behind the words she desperately wanted to say, Ga Eul slipped out of the chairman’s office. Just as she stepped outside, his voice followed her from within.

“Come by the house sometime with Gyeo Wool.”

Ga Eul gave no reply—her feelings toward Chairman Oh had not yet softened.

“Would someone like Chairman Oh really want to visit a den of criminals like that?”

As Ga Eul grumbled to herself, she noticed the secretaries staring at her, startled.
